...Y'all think that moccasins would be morph-able? They're pretty much skin tight, and heck, if they're leather, they sorta *are* skin. And they aren't nearly as bulky as tennis shoes....

They might be, probably to get them completely skin tight you would need a size or 2 smaller

I never understood why they couldn't at least morph some tight socks or something.  With moccasins, it's possible that maybe they just didn't think of it, but surely some Animorph has worn socks at some point, right?

if you've ever seen how we in hawaii wear rubba slippah (rubber slippers), you'd know that they can be fairly tight and if they still aren't morphable, then at least they're only $3 per pair
