I think MM3 was an Ax book in some ways. It's the first time when we see Ax's thoughts about human warfare, which contribute a lot to his conflicted views on human nature later in the series. However, Ax isn't really the star of the book; that's simply the most relevant part of it. Megamorphs 2, though, definitely felt like Tobias' book to me. I was always shocked by how dumb the rest of the crew was in it--seriously, who doesn't know the dinosaurs were all wiped out, possibly by a meteor?
