How big is the Morphing Cube?
« on: November 20, 2009, 05:54:25 PM »
In the Invasion, it's described as 4x4 inches in size.

However, in the inside cover for MM1, it's closer to 12x12 inches.

And then in one of the last books (50 or 51), Jake could fit the cube in his pocket, which not even a 4x4 cube could fit in.

Huh?

Pretty inconsistent. I figured it was small enough to easily fit in your hand, but too big to just slip into a pocket. Unless you have baggy pockets. 4x4 seems like a good size.

But I can't say anything for certain.

I agree, four by four sounds a good size. Not too big, but not too small. I'd think Andalite technology would be good enough that it wouldn't have to be as large as twelve by twelve. I wouldn't quite go by an artist interpretation of something either ^^'

4x4, so like one of those *trickier* rubik's cubes?

My plans for making an unauthorized, independent Animorphs movie are closer to fruition now than ever before...

how did you determine 12x12 on the cover of MM1?

Well, they show several "hands", seemingly the size of a human hand to emphasize how they change due to the box, but work for the same goal.  A hand is a bit more than half of a foot, usually, and the box is bigger on a size than each of the hands.

but morphing changes the size of the hands (among other body parts), and they were partly morphed. maybe their hands shrunk?

plus, a foot is usually less than 12 inches isn't in?

if by foot you mean the ligament, and not the measurement.

i always imagined a blue rubix cube. (they're 2ΒΌ inches each side)

That struck me funny. The morphing cube has morphing power! It all makes sense!
