Reece nodded, slowly. Either his girlfriend was becoming involved with some unnamed "enemy" or he was speaking to a crazy person. He remembered the cultish behavior, the strange weapons. He breathed deeply several times. He rubbed his face, causing the TP to rustle. He tore the mask up as it occurred to him any tears might soak through. One scream later, the TP lay tattered on the ground and his eyes were dry. No one could have noticed.

Sandra was a smart girl, he told himself. She wouldn't let herself get killed. Maybe brainwashed, maybe head shaven and a bomb strapped to her, ready to blow up a building... Reece rubbed his face. What the **** could they do? Inhale. Exhale. He composed himself. Smiled.

"So the police are out. My girlfriend is trapped inside. Who here has a gun?"

"Wow, calm down I-" Autumn spoke before falling silent, allowing everyone to talk, jabber and feel relieved that Kasey was back. "Okay, now your back which is good, lets just get away from here as far as possible." Realizing that her home would soon be invaded by these people she barely knew, Autumn was just glad that she had cleaned up her place in the morning before school. "As soon as we get to my place, we can all talk, and get something to eat and drink. We will come up with a plan to save Sandra okay?" Autumn touched Reece's shoulder gently. "We are in this together. Come on, my place." Autumn was ready to just got home and be in a familiar place.

Damien has been mostly quiet up until now. "So my mom is..."he trailed off, mainly talking to himself. Whatever was going on it appeared to be centred around these 'yeerks'. That means his Dad and sister could be.. taken at any time? He had to keep himself from shaking, no sense in adding more worry to the group.

Autumn says something and Reece forces himself to concentrate. There's nothing to keep anyone inside from coming back out. Sandra was a smart girl. She would be fine. He exhales sharply and nods. "Your house. Good idea. Figure things out there." Sandra was a smart girl.

Kasey puts a hand on Damien's shoulder, and gives it a gentle squeeze. She feels some sort of, obligation, towards the guy. "We'll figure it out, Damien. We'll, well, we'll work something out." She begins to follow Autumn, as thoughts begin to race through her head. For now Autumn's house might be alright, but where are they going to go after that? These, "yeerks", know who they are, they're going to find them. They know who I am, and as soon as they realize how influential my father's becoming, they'll be coming after him as well. What if my father already is one of these "yeerks"? What if my whole family are "Yeerks"? What if the people I'm with right now are "Yeerks"? On this thought, Kasey stops dead in her tracks.

"Wait a minute. How do we know we can trust them? How do we know they're telling us the truth about these, these Yeerks? How do we know they're not working with them? Do any of you even know these two anyway?" She gestures towards Autumn and Alice's current hologram. "I'm not going anywhere with these people."

"It is a bit convenient that we run away from those folks you call Yeerks and then you're here." Torrence nods after Kasey's declaration.  "But I don't want to wait here only to be caught on the chance she *is* telling the truth."

She glances to the others. "What do you guys think, should we let Eddie drive us to Autumn's?"

Reece reasoned. Autumn had been with Sandra and Brit. Sandra was gone. Brit seemed okay. More importantly, Autumn seemed harmless, if a little off. Even more importantly, Kasey seemed uncomfortable with the idea.

"We should go to Autumn's. We can't afford to be divisive right now. If we can get our **** together there, we can figure out how to save Sandra. It's all about keeping our cool at this point." He throws up a homecoming king smile. "Right guys?"

Brit listend to Reece's reasoning. Getting away from this place and getting somewhere safe seemed like the smartest thing to do under the circumstances. he squeezed his injured left hand to minimise the small amount of bloodloss he was dealing with.

The whole time the others had been talking about these things called yeerks he had been compering them to his father. He now had no doubt that his father was a controller. Brit tryed not to let the realisation show on his face. This could be dealt with later once he and this little group where safe.

He sighed and habitually  ran a bloody hand through his hair. The wet blood left a red streak through the blond. "Damnit....."

Kasey glares at Reese, furious. "Do you even have a brain inside your head? These two," she gestures towards Autumn and Brit, "were with your girl when they did...whatever to her. And this one," she stabs a finger towards Alice's hologram, "seems to know so much about these, "yeerks". How does she know all of this, and how do we know she's not lying. For all we know, she is one of them, and I'm not going anywhere with these people until I know what's going on." She crosses her arms, and and stares at the group. She hopes for the best. She knows that if there's any resistance from she has no chance of surviging on her own. The Yeerks know who she is, and they know where she lives. She knows needs to be a part of this group to survive. And besides, if they really wanted to, they could probably knock her out and take her against her will. She bites her lip.

Reece rolls his eyes. "C'mon, are you serious? We don't need to be stupid about this. We know Autumn- kind of. And besides which, what alternatives have we got? Are you gonna rock your paranoia all over the next person to volunteer their place? Or hell, maybe we can shack up in some barn by the woods, or meet at the mall. No danger there, right?" Reece finishes sarcastically.

"Whoa, guys." Torrence broke in.  "It's been a crappy night. Lets not make it worse by accusing every one of being a Yeerk. We don't even know what they are yet, but I'm all fortalking with this womanat Autumn's. After all, we out number her.

And Autumn is as freaked as we are."

(Oh the irony  ;D )

"No,"Damien injected into the conversation,"None of your body language seem to show that you are hiding something, for some reason... I could almost... tell... if they were taken over or whatever, I study behavior... and..."he trailed off, he had to get them to stop fighting, however he could also lead their suspicions onto him if he wasn't careful. "Look all I know is whatever is taking these people over it has affected my mom... that women with the strange weapon, yeah her, and right now we need to get away form her or end up in the same situation, fighting won't help, even if one of us was taken over we still have to get away, there is no time to do a cross examination on each other we have to leave... and now"

Reece looks intently at Damien. "Did... when you saw Sandra, then, did she seem weird? Did she seem like she'd been brainwashed by these people?"

Kasey struggles internally for a moment, before pulling herself back together. She inhales sharply, then responds, "I'll compromise. I'll go into the woods, but I'm not going anywhere else with them until we have some sort of guarantee that they're on our side." She turns towards the woods, then glares at Reece. Sudenly, she mumbles, her voice sounding warn, "Please. I know we can't be fighting over this, we need to be together on this. Even I can see that, but if we go with them now, and they are those...those things. It's over. We have no chance." Her face softens, and she kicks at the ground.

"Okay." Torrence nods. "Lets jog over to the woods until we can't see that creepy center any more and we can talk in neutral territory.  We feel endangered or if we hear those creeps coming after us, we can run away.  I like the compromise."

She smiled at Kasey.

After several moments of jogging, those who cared to do so were far into the woods.  The night had progressed, making it very dark.  Cell phones made handy mini flash lights to pierce through the darkness.

"Okay." Torrence said to whoever had followed. "What do we want to know about these Yeerks- and please lady, who are you and what are they?"
