Tora presses her lips together, but not in a smile, this time. Certainly, she is relieved Terenia has not yet wormed a confession of her species out of her, but this news is potentially even more troubling. Although the Andalites want Tora dead--and have proven such by placing a respectable bounty on her head--the Yeerks naturally want the entire Rebellion wiped out. "Will the Rebellion be safe with your knowledge in Imperial hands?" she murmurs.

The man in the corner remains still and undisturbed with his head on the table for awhile. Slowly, he raises his head and, still staring straight at the table, begins massaging his temples with his right hand. Feeling a vibration, he reaches into one of the pockets of his gray fatigue pants and pulls out a small electronic device. He fingers it for a short time with graceful movements, as though the device were an extension of his hand. Fully aware of the burning looks of some of the other patrons, he scoots back his chair, hoists himself up and walks towards the bar.

He approaches the bartender, who stares as the unshaven man gets closer. Device in hand, the man finally speaks.

"Look, dude, I'm sorry about the damage. I tell you what. Just give me a figure and its yours. In fact, it's instantly yours. You see, " he says as he thrusts the device over the counter towards the bartender's face, "I've managed to gain access to your bank account. You should be aware that 128-bit encryption with a short password is weak crypto, man. I mean, you basically have a big neon sign hanging up that says HACK ME. The near-public wifi you've got was easy enough. Pfft, WEP."

He chuckles and shakes his head, his blond ponytail poking out of the top of his long, black trench coat. The bartender merely stares back.

"Right, OK. I'll just throw something in there and you tell me if it's acceptable." After a few swift finger movements on the touchscreen, he again shows the device to the bartender, who glances at the device, then moves his eyes back to the man. After a bit of awkward silence, the man says, "Well, then. I'll assume that's sufficient. That should also pay for some," he glances around the decrepit bar, quickly cataloging many of its flaws, "additional repairs which I'm sure no one would complain about. Also, you should consider distributing those funds to the unfortunate victims of my... toy. I'm sure there's more than enough there for everyone-- hell, you can even give them a little extra!"

He spins around and grins at the other patrons, but before anyone can react, he turns back to the bartender and proclaims, "Well, that settles it. I think I'll return here soon. I like this place, and I like you, barman." He pats the bartender firmly on the shoulder. "Oh, by the way, my name is... well, just call me The Factotum. Facto, for short."

The Factotum makes his way to the entrance, waving at the other patrons but neither noticing nor caring about their responses. He exits through the smoldering hole. Just outside the bar, he notices a human female surveying the destruction. <Hmm, not bad,> he thinks to himself. "Well, hello there! I hope you aren't an owner of one of these scrap piles. Such an attractive woman as yourself deserves only the finest. Anyway, if one of these is yours, you should talk to the barman, who has more than enough to cover the cost of repairs."

Already, little splinters of wood from the blasted door are starting to shudder and crawl back towards the broken threshold, like little brown worms.

Myitt swallows and steps out from behind the dead ship, Dracon ready but not aimed at the strange man.

"No, my scrap pile is someplace else," she says dryly, watching him through narrowed eyes.  She starts to edge past him, toward the living doorway.

---

Corliss watches the man proselytize loudly about repairs and payment, shaking his head.  Clearly he was new here, and either insane or extremely narcissistic.

His gaze tracks back to Terenia and Tora, but he curses to himself, too far away to really pick up on their conversation.  Reluctantly he picks up his drink.

The Factotum watches as the woman slips past him. Ouch, he thinks. "But I never caught your na.."

Suddenly he notices several fragments of wood hurriedly moving back to towards the bar... by themselves. "What the," he exclaims in disbelief. The pieces seem to pick up pace and within a short amount of time assume their original positions, lining up like an undisciplined army and forming another dilapidated door which, as far as he can tell, is identical to its old self.

That's... wow. I'm gonna need a drink after that one. On his way back to the door, he's wracked by a sudden realization. If the bar can do this, why do they need my money? Was that even the right bank account? He whips out his small digital device, makes a few gestures and takes a deep breath. Oh well, I'll leave it. He raises an eyebrow as he looks at the name on the bank account. Heh. This person just got a whole lot richer.

Mar begins to wander back toward the Bar quietly. It's been a bizarre day...or was it night? Either way, it didn't matter. Ossanlin would not leave. That left it up to Mar to try and figure out exactly why it was he had saved the Andalite. He felt...a twinge of jealousy at Myitt's close relationship with Ossanlin. Which was nearly as odd as wanting to save him.

However, another matter still remained. Mar had a deal going on with Salem, who was probably at the Bar himself. They needed to talk. The Bar wasn't far. Mar's errant thoughts had managed to lead him out of the woods and toward the run-down shack. Mar shook his head in amazement. The establishment was really much more than what it seemed.

Yet from this distance...it looked as though it was repairing? Mar breaks into a jog toward the front door, wondering if anything new has occurred. By the time he's halfway to the door, the deed's already finished. Mar continues to walk forward.

I listened without moving as the guy who blew offthe door blabbed. <<He sound like one of the old Movies with the surfers. 'Dude!'>> I said privately to John and Vogefak. Since he and John were brother that made him my honorary master. Sort of. Technically I didn't have a master but I viewed John as my master.

Myitt inches around the writhing doorway, loathe to touch the unnatural thing.  She relaxes a little once she's inside the bar, and spots Corliss fairly quickly.

Tora and Terenia were there, too.  At least Corliss is all right, she thinks with a wave of relief.

She hesitates near the front of the bar.  Justin and Hadrin...she owed them the courtesy of bringing them home.  At least, bringing Justin home.

Why did she feel so compelled to stay?

Ossanlin continues his pace next to Mar as they walk back to the bar.  <<I'm on my way back.>> he sends to Claxter.  Ossanlin's tone of voice most certainly does sound tired.  He felt even more drained than when he had entered and returned from the timestream.  This was a different kind of tiredness.  It almost seemed a tiredness of soul.  He glances over at Mar and wonders if the being is enjoying his fatigued and battered condition, but then chides himself.  Mar had never shown anything of the sort at him.  He'd never even tried to bargain for Ossanlin's soul...that seemed like something.  A little smile plays over his hork-bajir face before retreating back into his recesses.

Ossanlin raises an eyebrow as Mar takes off at a jog, leaving him in the litteral dust.  He wonders idly what had garnered the being's attention.

Ossanlin continues to ramble onward at his own pace, and sends again to Claxter.  <<You are at the bar I assume?>>

Corliss sets his drink down and waves to his brother.

"Get over 'ere, Christ," he murmurs.

Myitt sidles around the bar patrons and walks up to him, jabbing a finger in his face.

"Can I leave this place without fear of you getting yourselves..."  She struggles to find the words, furious.  "...blown to pieces!"

Corliss smiles at her.  "You're cute when you're angry."

Myitt just glares at him, jaw twitching.  "Don't...just..."  Her fists clench and unclench.  "Be careful."

She turns away from her brother and starts stalking back toward the door.

Al laughed again- it seemed he was always laughing and smiling when having conversations. "If it'll keep me from having to answer the same questions over and over, I'm as human as you like," he said with a smirk. When Temrash toasted to Hadrin, Al raised his glass as well, becoming a bit more solemn. "To the deceased- may he be well remembered," he said, and took a drink.

***

Salem watched as Myitt entered the bar. He skirted around the man she'd spoken to briefly- he wasn't someone Salem recognized, and didn't appear to be of any concern. Probably just another human-Yeerk, maybe a rebel. He moved through the door and very nearly ran into Myitt on her way back out.

"Whoa," he exclaimed, stopping short. "Myitt. I... ah... you have a minute?" he asked, gesturing awkwardly toward an empty booth.

Glancing around, Salem decided he was not comfortable with the crowd in the bar. The combined presence of Terenia, Temrash, Myitt and Corliss led Salem's hand to subconsciously inch toward his holstered gun.

"Fine," Trey relents, dropping his hand from the bandage and allowing Asda full reign. He hesitates, then adds, "Would you mind looking at my side, too? I sliced it on some metal in my ship. Got a pretty bad cut from it..."

"The rebellion will be fine," Terenia says, "I don't know anything that would really be news to the Empire. Besides," Terenia shrugs, brandishing a pained smile, "Visser Three hardly cares about that sort of information. At least, he only cares about it if it will affect his work on Earth. The happenings of deep space are of little concern, and I'm hardly a spy. My only purpose aboard that ship is to feed his ego."

Terenia realizes that her hand is clenched around her drink, knuckles white. Her usual distress at Visser Three is certainly a portion of the cause, but beneath that she senses a deep loathing that does not belong to her. Curious, Terenia notices Efaen for the first time in awhile and realizes that the Andalite's mind is still very much focused on a previous topic.

<<You think->> Terenia starts, but is cut off.

<<I need confirmation,>> Efaen's response is measured, but the force of it surprises Terenia, who glances at Tora with worry.

Silver watched the newcomer then sighed. Her father didn't need her for this one person and there were many around to back him up. She wouldn't be but a moment away if he did need her. She touched his arm saying she would be in the bar. She walked in, noticing the splintered pieces coming together to fix the door once more. One of the bigger pieces brushed passed her foot and nearly tripped her and she called out a curse. She looked around, giving Gaz a quick hug as she was leaving. She seen a few new people, but one with a blond ponytail seemed to stick out more than the other creatures. Maybe it was because she was used to seeing them or maybe she was just tired still and she couldn't focus. She hoped she could focus. She couldn't afford another episode since her parents had enough to worry about. She had many times thought of them being a family again. Being in a house and
acting like a normal family....but they weren't normal. And she was a little more like her father than her mother therefore she couldn't leave the lifestyle she all ready lived. She sighed and sat at the bar and ordered up a drink placing th money on the table.

Asda began gently probing around the head injury when she heard Trey mention his side. Her eyes nearly bugged out of her head.

"How long ago?!" she barked. "Metal?! Let me check that one first in case it's started to get infected."

Gaz accepted the hug from Silver and said, "Just going to check on your folks. I'll be back in a moment."

"Left my drink at the bar," she added with a slight grin.

As Gaz walked out she had to brush past the new guy...what had he called himself? The Factotum?

(Just so ya know Epoch: Asda is a 4 armed doctor in her mid 30s, she's by the door. Gaz is around 24 in futuristic pirate sort of garb. Other character outside is a large Minotaur named Odysseus Morgan.)

Mar eventually pushes open the Bar's saloon doors and steps into it, glancing into the crowd to get an idea of the dynamics. A new guy appears to have shown up, meaning that he was probably what caused the Bar to need to heal. Mar makes a mental note about this and glances toward Salem. It's just Mar's luck that the man is even in here. Mar smiles oddly and wanders toward him. Time to start the deal again.

"Good evening, Salem," states Mar carefully. He has to avoid that poisoned honey sound coming into his voice if he can help it. Even though that is just how he talks. "Are we to continue or are you a bit...distracted? Why are you calling Precious over here?"

Silver nodded to Gaz and made sure Gaz's drink would be there for her when she returned. She downed her oen and ordered another as she looked all around the room.she looked down at one of her hands and she shifted to "Silver" from "Artemis" (pic in OOC). Her long chesnut brown hair changed to sapphire blue. And her gokden silver eyes changed to a jade green but still with that silvr filming over it. Dhe traced the markings on her arm before shifting back to her true form.
