"Hm?" Terenia asks, clearly distracted once more. "Oh...yeah. Thank you for..." she trails off again, lost inside her own head.
<<I suppose you think that since you have sufferred such a terrible loss the rest of the galaxy needs to stop while you mourn,>> Efaen is saying, her tone icy.
<<I don't think->>
<<Well, let me tell you this, human,>> Efaen continues, cutting Terenia off, <<You have no right to grieve. You are a selfish, spoiled child and I have never in my life met someone with more blatant disrespect for life. You claim to love someone, to desire their protection and safety, and then you destroy them. What is worse, you fail to honor your own family. You do not get to mourn, child. Not for the life you yourself have ended.>>
Terenia is so shocked by the cold rage of Efaen, who hated Tamora and the Imperial values she stood for, that she is speechless. For a moment their body is paralyzed; Terenia is too stunned to do so much as twitch. Then the full weight of Efaen's words hit her like a sledgehammer. A large hole has been punched in the wall she so carefully constructed, and the tides are flowing in freely. Swept away by a combination of grief and alcohol Terenia slips under and Efaen gains the advantage.
"Ah," Efaen says, licking her lips experimentally, "That is a major improvement." with newfound control over her limbs, Efaen jumps to her feet, swaying unsteadily for a moment before grasping for Tora's arm.
