"supposedly she started life as a Human. Then she was taken by Andalites and became an Andalite nothlit. Then she managed to regain her morphing ability, and became a Yeerk nothlit. She was in one Andalite who tolerated her, but decided she wanted to leave because the andalites were using her to retrieve information through infestation. She took a new involuntary Andalite host, went back to rescue her sister, found out her sister was voluntary and hated her, and spent five years as Visser Three's slave trying to get Tamora to leave the Empire. It's all very strange and convoluted."

"She came here, and Ossanlin wouldn't let her go back to Visser Three, so he took her sister, Myitt killed her Yeerk, and now Tamora is dead. I don't know what's going to happen to terenia, but I doubt Ossanlin will allow Efaen to be returned to Visser Three."

Dara is silent for a second taking it all in. "Nice family." They arrived at Temrash's ship. The workers had finished. "One second, Temrash. I'd better go get Kevlin so he can send them off." At that moment Kyro and George lifted off. They left the atmosphere and kicked in to Z-space. Dara walked up to the pool, unsure whether to put his head in or fish Kevlin out with his hand. In the end he took a big breath and dunked his head under. Kevlin swam over to his ear and squirmed inside. He stood and was still for a few seconds going over memories. <Oops,> He said, <Iprobablu should have thought of what Temrash would say before I fed.> He walked outside and nodded to Temrash. "Sorry we forgot about the workers."

Trey rises halfway to his feet when Asda finishes tending to the man. He isn't quite sure if he should stay or go, but the sight of blood has made his stomach churn all over again.

I should find Elayne, Trey thinks idly, his hand straying to the pocket that holds the computer chip - all that remains of his computer and his father's vision. He knows of no one else to go to. Elayne has had experience with rebellion, and she has been kind to him, despite his situation. He can only hope that Mar is not with her at the moment.

Terenia could have been a statue for how still she was sitting amongst the leaves, bracing herself for an onslaught of emotion. She was familiar with the pain - hadn't it attacked her so brutally when she killed her brother that she had decided to remain a Yeerk forever? Terenia knew what to expect, and was preparing herself for it.

A minute passed. Five minutes. Almost ten minutes and nothing. Terenia could feel the grief there, in the back of her mind, pushed back further than even Efaen, but it refused to come forward and envelope her. This frightens Terenia - if nothing else, she always had her guilt. It was the one thing in her life that kept her relatively in check.

"What is wrong with me?" she whispers to the silent forest. There is no answer of course, and Terenia leans her head back against the the tree behind her, staring up through the canopy of the forest. In the distance she can hear someone walking through the forest in her direction, but she does not bother to look and see who it is.

"Not yet." I said.

I collected the blood into one drop. I ordered a Rev'maak Ale again. I put half the blood in it, and stirred it.

"Your turn." I said, as I siphoned off the entire glass.

"Nothing bad happened while I was gone, so there isn't really anything to be angry about. Corliss never said if there was anything else that needed repairs, but since there isn't a shop ready around here I may decided to keep them around on standby." Temrash said. "Just get rid of the uniforms and stay on planet until further notice." Temrash said to one crew member who was in earshot, and he nodded and left to tell the others.

"I think we're ready to leave. I already told Corliss I was heading out. Set a course for Earth, Kevlin. I'll make some calls and try to come up with a plan of action."

John ordered a Beer and dropped the rest of the blood into the glass and gulped it down. He put the glass down and said, "Well are we brothers?"

Kevlin strode into the bug and and Sat down at the controls. He warmed up the engines. "'You ready?" <Yep> <Good.>

Temrash and Kelvin were soon heading out into space towards Earth. The fast ship would get there in a reasonable amount of time, and his two spies would try to find where Del was stationed.

"Temrash I just thought of something. Me and Dara can't be seen by Visser three. Dara used to be his bodyguard. What are we gonna do?" Both Kevlin and Dara were worried about it.

Mar nods toward Salem curtly and watches him leave. He wonders dimly where the peculiar man is going, but will not think about it until he returns. He seems to Mar to be a strange mortal who has seen a great deal, which Mar always finds somewhat dangerous. Inexperienced morons are easier to manipulate. Mar's expression furrows, thinking hard about what Salem said to Ossanlin. Finally, he begins to speak.

"I think that...that Salem is correct," he states carefully. "I..." A bitter expression temporarily crosses Mar's face, but he shakes his head to clear it. "...I have myself made the wrong choices. I have constantly trusted the wrong people because I wanted to have a connection to someone else. Anyone else. I was rewarded poorly for my compassion almost every time. And so I have become cold to alliances. But..."

Mar glances at Ossanlin with genuine worry. "...look. I may not remember the exact circumstances of all of those. They seem to have happened in a plane I don't understand perfectly all the time. But it is your compassion that attracts me. You remind me of..." Mar furrows his brow. "...someone I hated. But if you lost whatever created this lovely pain in people, you wouldn't be Ossanlin. And I think that would make me upset."

Tora raises her eyebrows as the seemingly human man approaches her, but they shoot upwards to only a few inches below her hairline as he changes his clothing. "Are you projecting a hologram? That is highly advanced," she says, clearly impressed although her tone remains unchanged.

"My name is Tora. And... it is perhaps fortunate for you that you have been inside. I had been intending to enter the building and partake of a beverage or two to avoid thinking about the death I just witnessed," she murmurs, glancing back towards the Skimmer. It is then that the landing ship catches her attention, but when little else seems to happen, she turns back towards Al. Her eyebrows have returned to their usual position. Although she likes to think she has mastered human facial expressions, she displays a neutral one more often than not.

Once Elayne entered the mechanical area of her ship, she had begun her repair work, finally able to put Mar and the rest of the Bar out of her mind. The damage to her ship had not been as severe as she had thought, so now she finds herself on her knees, attempting to dig out fried wiring on the underside of the internal engine casing.

"We can use a hologram, or what Humans call makeup. I got into a discussion with one of my Human controller subordinates, asking her why her eyelids were a strange color. It went into the topic of movie makeup, making Humans look like something else entirely. We might try making you look like a different Hork-Bajir controller." Temrash said.

Al nodded and dropped his hologram for a moment when Tora mentioned it. "This is the real me," he said, gesturing to his Chee body with a flourish before again raising the hologram. "Sometimes," he said with a wink. If he saw anything off in the way she was acting, he didn't show it.

At her mention of having witnessed another death, he said, "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't realize..." He glanced back towards the bar. "Buy you that beverage?" he asked her with a shrug and an attempt at a friendly smile.

Salem walked for a bit, but didn't see anyone. They'd probably gone elsewhere already. He was about to turn around and head back to the bar, but he caught sight of Terenia standing nearby. Funny, he hadn't noticed her before. She looked lost in thought. He hesitated a moment. He didn't really know her, except by what he'd heard around the bar. And he was sure she didn't like him. And the fact that she hadn't tried to kill him or run away when she'd seen him earlier was probably proof that she had more important things on her mind. Things Salem wasn't sure he could really relate to.

He stepped a bit closer to her and leaned against a tree nearby. "Rough day?" he asked offhandedly, following her gaze to the treetops.

Claxter walked into the bar, and stood by the bar. The bartender gestured towards the drinks as if to offer him some, but he declined. He had a problem he didn't know the answer to, and had no one to talk to. Should he go groveling back to Ossanlin? What would he say? He'd try really hard this time? He'd already been given multiple chances to prove himself, and failed. Why would Ossanlin take him back? He didn't really want to go home, but if he took off and didn't return home he could be dishonored. His body was rested, but his mind was still in turmoil.

Terenia's eyes flicker from the treetops to Salem then back to the canopy. She unwraps her arms from her knees, stretching her legs out straight in front of her on the ground. Running a hand through her hair allows the faintest ghost of an ironic smile to flit across her face.

"You could say that," she answers mildly.
