Ossanlin glances back over his shoulder, the blood splashed across his reptilian face obvious as he looks at Mar, no longer making an effort to hide.  He shakes his head a bit and continues on towards the lake wading in several feet and then diving in.  Cold water splashes against his skin and envelopes him as he undulates through the water.  For being made to exist in the trees, Hork-Bajir made very good swimmers.  Ossanlin used his blades like aqua-vanes, changing direction on a dime.  He pops back to the surface, taking a deep breath, the water cascading off of his hairless skin.  Some of the blood flakes off, more of it is beginning to dissolve into the water.

Temrash was about to answer Dara's first question, but was surprised to hear him ask how long it took for Yeerks to feed. "You know, when I told Kevlin he was in charge, I didn't really want him taking that time to feed. Whatever. Corliss said he wanted to talk to you before talking to Reven about you joining. He's the one you saw briefly doing that lip touching thing with the girl. Now I know you said you wouldn't mind being a controller, but I'd like you and your parents to come to a mutual agreement about things before you decide for good. You can be free with Reven's group if he takes you, or you can be partnered with trustworthy Yeerks loyal to me."

"As for feeding, I suppose about an hour or two would be good. The exat time depends on the Yeerk, but that's how it is for me."

"In charge of what? Making sure the ship didn't spontaneously combust? Kevlin will come up with some ****y response to that. But yeah, I'll ask my parents. Also I'm not against Yeerks just imperials."
Dara took another bite of bark. He stood and leaned against the hull.

"This is a strange place, and strange events can happen at any time. Though it is peaceful now, and I don't think anyone around here would charge over guns blazing just because they saw a few Imperial uniforms. Let him feed. Well, do you want to talk to Corliss? There isn't much else to do until the repairs are done."

Temrash found it amusing to talk to a Hork-Bajir that could make witty comments, and talk like someone with normal intelligence could. He kept those thoughts from Jagill, though, as he might get jealous or something. He liked Jagill very much, and couldn't imagine life without the guy, but compared to other sentient beings a typical adult Hork-Bajir had the intelligence of a small child or mentally handicapped person.

Mar frowns at Ossanlin's curious standoffish behavior and wanders toward the lake himself. He's also not clear on why Ossanlin has changed bodies, but it doesn't really matter much to him. Mar peers down at the water curiously, watching the creature swim.

"You aren't bad," Mar states carefully. "But I'd like to know exactly why you're dressed in that shape now. And why you don't seem as friendly. Are you..." Mar chuckles at the silliness of this thought. "...upset about Terenia and the dead girl? They're not worth your time, old friend. Only mine, really. A Light servant doesn't gain anything from their problems."

"Sure why not. I've got nothing to do right now." Dara was waiting to get underway to rescue his mom. "Well let's go. Which way is it?"

Temrash led Dara back to the Skimmer, and noticed the hatch was shut. He knocked on it to see if Corliss was there. "I think he's a bit broken up over what happened to Tamira." he said, gesturing to the blood on the ground. "I think he might have gotten close to the weird Human-Andalite-Yeerk creature, and now that she's killed her sister she may have lost whatever she may have gained in the past five years. Honestly I don't know what they're going to do with her, but I can't imagine them letting an Andalite controller go back to Visser Three. I know I wouldn't. That guy already has a powerful host and a rank he doesn't deserve."

"What?! There's more then one Andalite controller! He must have been keeping very good secrecy. My yeerk was one of his bodyguards and I didn't find out." Dara was shocked.

"Really? You didn't know? Well, I didn't know either and I have a couple of spies working for him. Yes, it's a young Andalite female who is more or less voluntary. That is, she let Terenis back into her head at this place without anyone forcing her to. As far as I know, anyway."

"A voluntary Andalite host none the less. Will the wonders never cease?" Dara shook his head. He gestured to the ship. "'They coming out?"

There is no answer from the Skimmer, and there is likely not to be any.

"Maybe he really is sulking in there. Eh, let's let him be. I'm not sure why he'd be so disturbed. he barely knew Terenia, and didn't know Tamora at all." Temrash said as he started walking back to his ship.

Ossanlin turns in the water as Mar speaks, treading with his tail slowly.  "My andalite body wouldn't have very well been able to carry Tamora kicking and screaming to her execution."  Ossanlin speaks in somewhat rough English.  He switches to thought-speech.  <Perhaps I wanted to escape, perhaps I wanted her blood on a different body, as if that would make a difference.  All of this happened because of me.  Never before have I had a mission fail so horribly.  Never before have I done more damage than good with my attitude.  All this time I thought I was progressive, thinking more clearly than my andalite brethren...perhaps I merely have not grown up.>

Ossanlin flips over in the water and comes back to the surface again, wiping the blood from his chest and face.  <Had I simply removed Terenia from Efaen as so many others of my species would have done, things would've turned out much better.  However, the death of an Imperial voluntary human host and the ruination of a traitor would not bother a typical Prince, yet I have allowed my poor decisions to affect me.  I suppose I must grow harder, become like the swords I carry...a blade that cuts without remorse, without thought.  A being that does the task it is given and nothing more.>

((Just FYI I'm gonna pretend that Oss took his harness off and laid it on the beach.  I forgot to post it, but there's no way he would submerge his swords and shredders.))

Salem strained to listen to Myitt and Terenia for as long as he could, but they were soon out of earshot in the woods. He started when a Hork-Bajir dropped from the trees. He hadn't noticed it before. He had to remember to stop thinking in two dimensions on a planet with them around. That was the second time one had snuck up on him. He sighed and turned to say something to Mar, but then Mar addressed the Hork-Bajir as Ossanlin. Salem did a double-take.

Morphing, he reminded himself. Got to remember the morphing. Anyone here could be an Andalite.

He listened to Mar's apparent good nature at the pain and suffering with growing unease. Wasn't this the type of being so many cultures had stories about? The darkness, the creeping beings that kept watch over so many races and wreaked havoc and destruction? And now he was thinking about dealing with it? It might be smart to find out a bit more before going through with it. He wondered where Myitt had gone. She seemed to know a fair amount about how Mar worked. He wondered if she'd speak with him.

Ossanlin spoke a phrase in a language Salem had never heard; not enough for the translator chip in his head to pick up on it. He switched to thought-speech, however. Salem listened to Ossanlin, the confused feelings growing inside him. On one hand, he hated to see a War-Prince second-guessing himself like this, and he knew the Andalite was being too hard on himself. On the other hand, the honor and the ideals that he was describing were the same ideals that Salem had learned to reject over the years.

"Andalite," he said, his voice cracking a bit from the time he'd been standing there silent. "War-Prince. I don't know what happened out here tonight, but no one can know the future. No mortal, anyway," he added, with a sidelong glance at Mar. "Everyone will make mistakes. Even you. Even me. The pain doesn't go away. You just push it down. Striving for anything more'll leave you disappointed. The idea is always to use what you have and grow from it. Use the regret, Andalite, and grow from it. Don't fight it."

He turned to Mar. "I'll find you later," he said. Without another word, he turned on his heel and strode into the forest in the direction Myitt and Terenia had gone, hoping to find Myitt.

Al looked around again. With a slight shrug, he began to walk away from the bar, towards his ship. He caught sight of Tora walking towards the bar and cracked a smile.

"Crazy place, eh?" he said with a wave and a gesture towards the door. "Bit rougher than I'm used to, but nice. At least no one's going to die this time. Death always ruins my mood. I like the au natural look, by the way," he said, pointing at her feet. "I might do the same." His imaged flickered, and his outfit changed to match Tora's. "I'm Al."

He turned to watch as Fred's ship landed in the shipyard, and seemed about to say something to him as he walked through the door, but the... thing was apparently in a hurry. He shrugged at Tora.

Kevlin finished feeding and waited for Dara to return.
Dara followed Temrash. "What was the deal with andalite-controller? The Imperial called her sister." This place was very confusing.
