"Maybe," Terenia relents, giving Mar a furtive glance, "but again, why does it matter? If I go back to Visser Three and he kills me, or if I stay here and rot at a barstool, what does it matter? There's no difference. The only reason you are here is because you feel obligated. Maybe you feel guilty, or maybe you're just here because of Corliss." Terenia shrugs, staring out over the lake.
"You didn't cause her death, Myitt," Terenia says, "You may have helped bring her here, but you were one of her victims. She tried to kill you, not the other way around. You don't have to try and make yourself feel better by talking to me."
