Terenia tilts her head slightly as Mar sits on the ground, registering the behavior as odd and yet choosing not to say anything about it.

"He won't kill me," Terenia says, repeating her words to Myitt earlier, "that would be merciful, and Visser Three doesn't do mercy."

"I'm not sure, Tora," Myitt says flatly, wandering toward the forest without really knowing why.  She glances back at her Andalite friend, but Tora has already started walking away from her.

Why was she following Terenia?  She had no allegiance to the girl.  Hell, Terenia was probably the persons he wanted to talk to the least in this whole damn place.  Hadn't she just let her walk away?

<Sounds like you're confused,> Tara muses.  <Oh, but I'm supposed to shut up, aren't I?>

<No,> Myitt murmurs.  <I am sorry.  Just let me think, all right?>

She brushes through the woods, making quite a bit of noise and not particularly caring.

---

Corliss nods at Tora while she approaches the Skimmer once again.

He opens his mouth to ask her why she hasn't accompanied Myitt, but Temrash steps up from the gloom and startles him.

"Oh, well," Corliss starts with a sigh, "I'd like to meet these people myself, first, before you discuss it with...with Reven.  Listen, it's not the best time, we've just been through quite a bit of...turmoil.  Can you introduce them to me, later?"

Mar shakes his head quietly. "I understand something about how people like Visser Three operate. The only reason Visser Three kept you around was probably because you were persistently defiant and stupid. You made countless mistakes while speaking to the rebels, and I have no doubt you made such mistakes with him. He found this a constant source of amusement and kept you as his own personal slave."

Mar's look is frank and honest. It's not a common expression on a person like him. "If you are at last broken, then the game is over. He'll frustrate himself tormenting you for a while, and eventually kill you in a painful and unpleasant way. At least...this is what I would have done. I can only speculate from experience."

Kevlin looked around the ship. <Nice place. Well I guess we're going to be partners now, Right? <Yes. How long have you known Temrash?> <I'd guess about ten years. We've been through alot.> <I see.> <I'm going to feed in Temrashes pool.> <I'll go get something to eat.> Kevlin walked over to the pool and disengaged He slipped out of Dara's ear and into the pool.Dara walked over to the woods and stripped some bark off a tree. He took a bite as he walked back to the bug. He sat at the door and thought about how his life had changed in the last day. He had found some one to help him rescue his parents, become a host again, and decided to stay that way all in one day. He thought of how different Kevlin was from his former Yeerk. He treated him as a person not just a tool. He sat and waited for Kevlin to finish.

Ossanlin hears some noises and deigns to come out of his reverie for a moment.  The human...andalite that was with the resistance had made her way closer.  Strange...he had thought she was leaving.  He sees Mar join Terenia and can feel the feelings wafting off of the darker one...they are powerful enough for him to sense without his Silver Blade enhancements.  Mar was enjoying Terenia's feelings...though Ossanlin really doesn't have any idea as to what she would be feeling at the moment.

Myitt and Tara are also rambling through the woods in what appeared to be an aimless fashion.  He wonders silently if they'll end up at Tamora's grave as well.  He leans his head back again, letting is mind drift with the breeze.

Continuing to walk away from Myitt, Tora turns the direction in which she had originally been headed: towards the Bar. Perhaps they had put her in a surly mood, but why should she not be in one? Who could watch what she had seen and not want to forget it with the aid of a quiet drink?

She fingers the pouch that contains the comm link for a moment, and then dismisses the idea before it is even fully formed. A drink should suffice to raise her spirits, she decides.

This seems to give Terenia a moments pause. She isn't entirely sure what to do with the information. A large part of her wants to disregard Mar's claims, but he seems fairly sure of himself. Another part of her doesn't really care - but to that part she asks herself: why not just let Mar end it then?

"You're wrong," she says, although she doesn't seem to have any further argument to prove her point. It is too much to think about, and thinking is not something that Terenia wants to do. Ever again, really. Thoughts are dangerous things, things that she must keep away from. So she actually welcomes the distraction provided by Myitt's unceremonious tromping through the underbrush. She looks up expectently, waiting for the rebel to join in the little gathering that seems to be forming. The back of her mind snidely wonders what Salem thinks of the whole scene playing out in front of him.

Myitt hops out of the forest, pulling a leaf irritably from her flurry of messy brown hair.

She stops, brushing pine needles from her jacket, and stares at the little group that has formed around what looks like a hastily dug grave...almost burnt, judging from the bits of melted slag that was once silica-laden soil.

Myitt swallows, looking from Terenia to Mar and Salem.

"What are you doing here?" she sneers at Mar.

"Enjoying myself of course, Precious," states Mar with a grin as he notices Myitt's approach. "The death of Terenia's sister seems to have affected her greatly. Her mind and heart are almost utterly empty and hopeless. Devoid of all redeeming qualities one might associate with a soul. Such a connection or lack thereof fuels me. The more interesting question is..."

Mar gestures around the clearing. "...what are you doing here? Have you come to comfort her?"

"I don't know," Myitt admits, shoulders sinking.  "I have no real reason for coming here."  She glances back up at Mar.  "Maybe I've come here to protect her from making another foolish mistake."

Terenia looks from Mar to Myitt, her brows drawing together.

"And what mistake would that be?" she asks plainly, "I don't think there are any siblings left for me to kill." Her voice catches ever so slightly, but for the most part her expression remains impassive.

Ossanlin can barely hear the interchange of words near the grave...merely wafts that come with the wind.  He unwraps his tail from around the trunk of the tree and perks forward, trying to catch more of the conversation.  Such a strange group they were, and all around a dead human's grave that purportedly no one cared about.

Ossanlin places his feet and pulls all of his blades free, leaping from the base of the branch to the tree next to it, then again, hardly making a noise.  Hork-Bajir were undoubtedly good at moving through trees...it is, after all, what they were engineered to do.  Ossanlin makes his way closer, barely making a russle in the leaves.  He supposed it wouldn't matter if the others noticed him, but he wanted to eavesdrop without them knowing he was present.  Mar would be able to sense him, if he wasn't so obviously preoccupied with Terenia.  As it was Ossanlin was betting on that to be enough of a distraction to keep the darker one from sensing him.  Suspended in the canopy, not in easy full view, Ossanlin is finally close enough to hear the conversations easily.

"Trust me, Terenia," Myitt says flatly, unsure why she is even finding herself speaking these words.  "As terrible as it is to kill a sibling, there are far worse mistakes that can be made."

Terenia raises an eyebrow, clearly not following Myitt's train of thought. She decides to wait for a further explanation, unfolding her arms and taking a step back, unknowingly putting more distance between herself and Mar, as if his very proximity is poisonous.

"Perhaps," Terenia says slowly, "but what is killing a sibling to you, when you have hundreds?"

Salem watched the exchange between Mar and Terenia from a distance, trying to stay out of the way. He became increasingly intrigued by the whole situation. If nothing else, as Mar spoke, Salem's unease at the prospect of dealing with him grew.

The more Terenia spoke, and the more he saw of her demeanor, the more he saw himself, as he'd been, years before. Alone, and losing hope.

When Myitt entered the clearing, he again tensed up, but she seemed more concerned with Mar than with him. What am I still doing here? he thought to himself. Here he was with two people he now considered unfriendly at best.

He very nearly said something to Terenia, but at her comment about killing a sibling, he paused for a moment. He hadn't realized her "sister's death" was her own handiwork. He'd expect quite a few things from her, based on the little he'd seen and heard about her. Murdering a sibling was not one of them.

He shook his head to clear it. He always seemed to be drawn to those who reminded him of himself. He stayed nearby and continued to watch.

Al sighed, packed up his chips and cards, and stood up from the table. He'd find something fun to do later. He was useless for medical purposes and he knew it. With a quick glance around the bar for anything interesting, he stepped outside.
