"Hey!"
Corliss is shaken out of his reverie.
"So, are you going to stand there moping about your little girlfriend being some kind of homicidal maniac, or are we going home?" Myitt shifts her weight impatiently, crossing her arms carefully around her Dracon. She glances at Tora. "Don't tell me he's gotten you depressed, too?"
"Myitt, she just killed her own sibling," Corliss says, trying to remain even-tempered. "Can you please have a little respect?"
Myitt snorts. "Respect? For her? Please. We got all tangled up in her affairs, brought her sister back here, and she damn near slices the girl's head off. I couldn't have predicted that. Could you?"
<Yes, you could have,> Tara says stonily.
Corliss shakes his head and looks away. "You can go, if you want," he says. "You're due to be back on duty soon. Reckon I'll stay a while."
Myitt considers this. "Nah, I've only been here a couple of days."
"More like a few weeks," says her brother, rolling his eyes.
Myitt shakes it off, turning to follow Terenia's path.
"Whatever," she calls back. "Let me think about it. I need to take a walk."
