Corliss slithers slowly back into Mike's head, and the first thing he touches is a nice memory of opening crackers at Christmas when Mike was seven.  Funny colored paper hats.  A cute tradition.

Further and he reaches the present, flashed with images of passion, fear, sorrow.

He stands there for a long time, completing his connection to Mike's living brain and wondering just what went wrong in the last couple of hours.

<Yeah,> Mike says, a bit sadly.  <It's one hell of a ****ing mess, innit.>

Corliss tilts his head curiously, wondering.  Why would Terenia kill her sister?  Why?  What good would it do, adding to her own misery this way?

He steps out into the main cabin, nodding at Tora.

"Are you all right, then?" he asks his friend quietly.  He glances outside, recognizing through Mike's thoughts that Myitt and Terenia were probably still out there.

---

Myitt rolls her eyes.  "Do you really think the punishment for not bringing back a couple of Dracon weapons is going to matter, now that you've destroyed the only thing keeping you under the sway of Visser Three?  Or will he no longer care, now that you're returning to him willingly?"  Her eyes narrow.  "And what does Efaen think about all this?  Hmm?  Does she desire to return to the clutches of someone crazier even than you?"

Terenia's expression freezes. She casts a long glance towards the Skimmer, wherein her weapons are lying uselessly on the floor, before returning her attention to Myitt.

"What does it matter?" she answers cryptically, almost speaking more to herself than to Myitt. She gives the human-Controller a long look. "Thank you for - " she cuts off, not entirely sure what she is thanking Myitt for. The Yeerk has not directly helped Terenia in any way, and yet...some small part of her feels in debt. She clears her throat. "Thank you, anyways."

<<Let me free! Leave me!>> Efaen struggles for control over her body, but Terenia has shoved her into the deepest recesses of her own mind. She is trapped. Completely helpless in her own body.

"Take care of Corliss," Terenia adds, with one more fleeting glance towards the Skimmer before she begins to walk away.

"If you say so Temrash. I'm coming down." Kevlin descended throughthe the atmosphere and followed Temrash's signal to land next to his ship. He lowers the ramp and walks out of the ship. The repair crew lands and begins to work. Kevlin walks into Temrash's ship. "Hey, how you doing Temrash? Long time no see."

Dara groans and rolls over. His wounds are heal on the outside but still hurt on the inside.

Claxter wakes up, refreshed from his sleep, but still unsure of his future. He's still contemplating leaving, and his Prince had given him permission to go. However he also feared having to tell his parents what a failure he was. Perhaps he should speak to someone, but who would he speak to? Myitt was a close friend of Ossanlin, somehow. He wondered if he could speak to her.

He decided to go looking for her, and found a group near the Skimmer. Also an odd mess of blood on the ground. He saw Myitt, who seemed unhappy, yet had he ever seen her in a very good mood? He walked towards the skimmer, silently thinking about how he should start. Maybe she'd just brush him off. she probably would. Why would she care about him. She may even feel he's just dragging Ossanlin down.

"Kevlin! I'm glad you made it. I am well, though a lot has happened since I came to this weird place." Temrash said. the repair crew went immediately to work, and he noticed Kyro standing around. "Kyro. Over here. Your son has come here, and asked me to bring you over. He's in the ship." Temrash showed him to Dara, who seemed to have regained consciousness. "I'll let you two talk while I discuss things with Kevlin."

He went into the other room. "As you may guess, I met dara who asked me to reunite him with his parents. One of them, Kyro, is a friend of Jagill's, and I felt obligated to help them out. However I really don't know where Del is, or if she's even alive. That's where you come in. Once we get a lead, we can start looking."

Tora takes a moment away from giving Terenia a hard stare to look at Corliss as he approaches. "Of course I am," she murmurs. "The more apt question is whether you are."

As Terenia turns away, the flat line of her lips softens, and she sighs, "I'm sorry, Corliss. I know she is your friend."

Myitt watches Terenia walk away, before turning to the Skimmer.

---

Corliss nods at Tora.  "Yes, I..."  'I' what?  How did he feel?  He had never felt anything quite like this before.  The pain of losing someone you cared for, not to death, but to brutality and insanity.  He shakes his head.  "Yes, I think I am all right," he murmurs, though his gaze wanders toward the hatch, toward where Terenia is stalking off.

Myitt steps up to the bottom of the ramp.

"I guess she's not coming with us, after all," she sighs, feeling troubled at her brother's discomfort, but not really understanding quite what it was that he saw in Terenia, in the first place.  She starts walking up the ramp, but the sound of four hooves stepping through tall grass surprises her.

Myitt turns and blinks at Claxter.

"I guess you missed all the fun," she says flatly, glancing back at Terenia again.

<Yes, I seem to have missed...something.> Claxter said, still thinking of what he wanted to say. <Myitt...you've been in this war a while, right? And you know Prince Ossanlin, pretty well? I just...I'm afraid that I've become a failure. I haven't had a single mission where I didn't screw something up. I feel like i need to talk to someone, but I don't know who to talk to. I'm afraid of what my parents would think if I told them I'm a cowardly failure, and I'm afraid I don't know what to say to Prince Ossanlin. Have you ever...given advice?>

Ossanlin carries Tamora's body to the clearing in question.  On a small hill overlooking the lake, he sets her down.  No one bothered to follow him...it struck him as sad that no one cared to see her laid to rest.  At the same time, he could be alone.  Ossanlin takes a deep breath.  Death was a part of him...he needed to treat this one as any other.  He didn't know why he felt he should bury Tamora's body instead of simply and efficiently vaporizing it...but vaporization seemed too easy.  No body meant it would be easier to forget, something that he wouldn't do.

Ossanlin draws both of his Shredders and dials them to the highest setting.  He holds them at two different points and holds them on steady beam, heat quickly building and vaporizing soil, creating a sink-hole.  He re-holsters his weapons after he feels the hole is deep enough, and picks Tamora up again, setting her body in the hole.  <I don't know how humans do this...and our death ritual does not seem...appropriate.  I will simply say that I hope you are free of your pain and suffering, and I hope you have found peace and rest.>  Ossanlin takes a deep breath and pulls a Shredder again, slicing a line through the dirt a few feet to the side of the hole.  He slices it at a second angle with the high-power beam and all sides of the grave collapse inward, covering Tamora's body.  The result is a divot in the top of the hill a few feet deep and  some seven feet in diameter.  Ossanlin looks out over the water of the lake before turning and walking back towards the shipyard, emerging from the treeline.

Myitt stares at Claxter, eyes narrowing a bit.

"No, not really," she replies bluntly.

<Ah. Right. Of course not.> He said, turning away. He noticed Ossanlin, still in morph, but covered in the same red blood that was pooled in the grass, coming from the woods. Obviously something had gone on here, but he had big enough problems. Terenia was nearby, and for some reason, he decided to say goodbye to Efaen. He trotted over to catch up.

<I know you don't like me at all, Terenia, so I'll make this quick. I may be leaving soon, and I thought I'd at least say goodbye to efaen. So...goodbye. If you want to go back to Visser Three, then fine. Whatever. I hope you find some contentment in the life you've chosen, if you manage to convince Terenia to go back, since apparently she doesn't want to go nearly as much as you do.>

Tora puts a hand on Corliss's shoulder but drops it almost immediately, not sure what else to say.

As Claxter approaches Myitt, speaking with open thought-speech, she rolls her eyes in disgust at his confession. It seems like everything is disgusting to her since Terenia's cruel little show.

She murmurs quietly to Corliss, "Let me know when you are ready to leave," and then steps fully out of the ship, heading towards the Bar. She knows she should fetch the remaining canned goods, but she certainly doesn't feel like it now. What she needs is a drink. Perhaps one of Reven's preferred beverages, not her usual Dr. Pepper.

Out of the corner of her eye, she sees the Hork-Bajir who had taken Tamora's body emerge back into the shipyard, but she does not stop to speak or watch, continuing on her way to the ramshackle building.

Terenia is on her way to the tree line when Claxter abruptly stops her, blabbering something or the other to Efaen. Whatever it is he says, Terenia disregards it. Irrelevent, she thinks to herself, pressing on. In her mind, though, Efaen is screaming.

<<No! I do not wish to go! Let me free! Leave me, Terenia, leave me!>>

Terenia makes her way absently through the woods, not entirely sure what her destination is. Part of her wants to return to the bar and drown her sorrows, another part of her wants to return to her Bug Fighter and abandon this planetoid forever. Torn, she weaves through the trees until she comes upon the lake, where she sees Ossanlin, carrying the body of her sister. She intakes a sharp breath and backs up slightly, keeping hidden in the shadows.

Watching in silence, she observes as Ossanlin creates a grave and places her sister within it, quickly covering the resting place with freshly churned soil. For a brief moment her breath catches and she can feel a tidal wave pressing against the wall she has built. She forces it back, staying in the shadows until Ossanlin disappears. When she is certain that the coast is clear she separates herself from the trees and approaches the new grave hesitantly. When she reaches the edge of the disturbed dirt she falls to her knees, looking out at the lake beyond.

"I'm sorry," Terenia whispers, well aware of the fact that she is begging for forgiveness from a corpse, "It was the only way..."

Terenia gave no response to him, which he expected. Now what? He might go back to the bar, but there he might just wind up drinking again. He didn't need any substance to make his head foggier than it already was. Instead he wandered aimlessly around.

Salem winced a bit at Mar's description of what his "brief snack" would entail, but then seemed to shrug. "I'd recover, though, right? That sounds reasonable. But if you're up for raising the value of our deal a bit, I could try to sweeten the pot. I've got information on thousands of worlds and billions of species across many universes. I have fairly detailed accounts of our own immortals back home... sounds like they'd be your type. I have secrets of technology from a dozen civilizations. Or..." he furrowed his brow as he tried to mentally go through his inventory, rejecting most things out of hand as irrelevant to an immortal. "I keep coming back to the Ennish artifacts. You might appreciate a Dark Magic Crystal. Supposedly allows the user to absorb and redirect magical energy at will, to a point. I have a high quality naturally occurring one on my ship. Or lower quality artificial ones... those are supposed to be a lot easier to use. I could just teach you to grow them."

"Mmm... it might be worth it if I felt I could get something worthwhile in return" He shook his head slightly. He was rambling, and he wasn't even sure what Mar could give him. "Where we goin', that you're sensing all this death and pain?"

"Hmmm?" Dara says, just waking up. He sees Kyro. "Father!" They hug each other. "What you got into now?" Kyro asks.
"I got away from Visser Three and somehow ended up here."
"Where are we?"
"Someplace called the 'Bar'."
"Why you want me?"
"I want our family back together. I'm going after Mother."
"With Kevlin?"
"Yea."
"Good to see you. I wait here."

"George doesn't want to go on another chase. Would it be possible for me to use a different host?" Kevlin asks.
