Terenia is on her way to the tree line when Claxter abruptly stops her, blabbering something or the other to Efaen. Whatever it is he says, Terenia disregards it. Irrelevent, she thinks to herself, pressing on. In her mind, though, Efaen is screaming.
<<No! I do not wish to go! Let me free! Leave me, Terenia, leave me!>>
Terenia makes her way absently through the woods, not entirely sure what her destination is. Part of her wants to return to the bar and drown her sorrows, another part of her wants to return to her Bug Fighter and abandon this planetoid forever. Torn, she weaves through the trees until she comes upon the lake, where she sees Ossanlin, carrying the body of her sister. She intakes a sharp breath and backs up slightly, keeping hidden in the shadows.
Watching in silence, she observes as Ossanlin creates a grave and places her sister within it, quickly covering the resting place with freshly churned soil. For a brief moment her breath catches and she can feel a tidal wave pressing against the wall she has built. She forces it back, staying in the shadows until Ossanlin disappears. When she is certain that the coast is clear she separates herself from the trees and approaches the new grave hesitantly. When she reaches the edge of the disturbed dirt she falls to her knees, looking out at the lake beyond.
"I'm sorry," Terenia whispers, well aware of the fact that she is begging for forgiveness from a corpse, "It was the only way..."
