Since Cody seemed intent on talking to the andalite with swords I walked past him to make sure he didn't get his head lopped off.

((Warren wouldn't your guys be mad at Dara because he shot a hole in one of their friends? Just a thought.))

Ossanlin hears a familiar voice outside the ship, and rolls his eyes.  This was all he needed...the situation continued to grow more volatile.  <Actually the situation is somewhat tense...it might be best if you wait at the bar...>  Ossanlin doesn't move his eyes to Cody...he was just another unpredictabe variable that made things harder to predict.

"As a matter of fact, I do," Corliss says, walking up the ramp after Tora and Keshin.  "The little bastard had me sucked into getting a few months' supply of the stuff he needs, so I think I can find the vial he showed me..."  He turns to the little storage room and peers inside, hopefully, as if the vials would just appear on the little dull grey shelves.

"Hmm," he says, frowning.  He steps inside and waves a hand at the automatic hydraulic drawers.  Two at a time open with a hiss, and he rummages through them.

---

Myitt nods at Al.  "Very interesting," she murmurs.  "I, too, know what it's like to be tied to a larger machine in physical form, and to have your life attached to that larger form.  Although in my experience things have been quite a bit more...organic, shall we say?"  She smiles, curiosity temporarily overtaking her earlier annoyance.

((Luke, as an aside, I just want to let you know...that goddamned Erasure song is STILL IN MY HEAD.))

(((Yes, to some degree... Their anger towards Desmond is a lot stronger though. They had to expect casualties at one point or another, and sneaking around behind enemy lines... as the enemy... makes things quite a bit riskier. These guys live for their mission, and maybe this idea was a bad call.
...I just realized that my guys had been chasing Desmond around for a while, yet they're suddenly acting like his henchmen (?). What the heck was I thinking?!? Um... I'll work on that somehow :explode:; how, I don't know. I'm going to say that they normally use guerrilla tactics, and they used lot's of stealth and cloaking.  Or something.... This'll teach me to take up someone's extra characters when I have no idea what's going on!)))

((Gah... this post is longer than I wanted it to be. Trying to address everyone while also getting Salem new threads. Oh well. Luke, glad your cough is apparently subsiding a bit :) Being sick is never fun, especially when it also eats sleep time >.<))

Salem's head had stopped throbbing. He knew that should concern him, since it meant his thought-speak chip was probably doing physiological damage, but he pushed his concerns aside and continued dressing, loading many of the items from the pockets of his old outfit into his new one as he did so. "Everyone's running from something, Andalite. Some of us are just more open about it than others."

Al smirked at Ossanlin. "I don't learn anything if I can help it," he said with a wink. "But seriously, yeah, I like to think of myself as being as sentient as you are." He turned to Myitt with a smile, nodding. "It's a cliche, but having a larger form to take on is kind of a gift and a curse, isn't it? So many benefits from what's really just a mobile prison."

"From what I saw of your swords, Ossanlin, they're beautifully crafted," Salem continued from within the closet. "I'm a trader. If you'd like to get something of value for one of those blades, I'm happy to haggle." He paused to blow dust off his hat, and sneezed before continuing. "I admire that philosophy. 'Take every advantage you can in battle.' I avoid battle myself, if I can help it, but I believe in being ready for anything," he laughed. He really was feeling much better, and he had a bunch of angry, volatile aliens aboard his ship, which was always entertaining. This night might not turn out so bad after all.

He opened the door and stepped out, in his newly chosen outfit. He wore a black cowboy hat and a long, dark gray coat. A red bandanna was tied loosely around his neck, and his button-up shirt and pants were both brown. Around his waist was a belt with several holsters and pockets, the only occupied one being the sheath for his knife. He wore the same boots he'd had on before, except that they now had spurs attached and appeared dark brown instead of black. As he straightened his collar, he asked Ossanlin, "Hey, can you hand me that?" as he pointed at an object near his feet. It looked like a six-inch length of nylon rope with a metallic ball attached to one end and a metal collar around the other.

When Ossanlin spoke to Cody, Al called out the door, "Party in here's a little slow at the moment. I think this crowd's heading for the bar anyway, and then you and I can teach these Andalites how to dance. Might as well join 'em for a drink. It's all on Salem!" He grinned and winked at Myitt as Salem shot him a glare.

((Sorry T. I also called Tamora, Terenia. Fixed.

I don't know if you guys caught my intentions with replacing Thordon. I posted it during a large fight that had quite a bit of OOCing.
I may return Thordon to Anarion. I really want to bring in my new(ish) persona, Darth Revan, if it's cool with you guys. The transition may take a while; I have to find a way to get Thordon back home first.))

I never got a response, so I wasn't sure if you read it or not.
I'll also have to think up a good intro that'll properly explain how he got here.))

"Hm?" Tamora asks, looking up at The Director abruptly, pulled from her dark thoughts. "Oh, the bartender. No, I don't suppose he does." She shrugs, as though this information is not particularly interesting to her, and slumps down in her barstool.

"This day sucks," she mutters.

"Hey, you're that guy that was offering free drinks earlier." Cody said with a smile. "I've been trying to get my friend out of this guy's ship so I can leave, as I've been pretty bored, but you're cool. As for dancing, I don't know how. even if my leg wasn't busted up, I'd be stepping all over some poor girl's shoes. By the way, this is my new little buddy Bear."

It's kind of odd. Keshin has a lot of random crap in there, kind of like when someone rummages around in their pockets and finds three balls of lint, a marble, and a penny. Various broken weapons, extra clothing or armor, and empty medicine bottles lie strewn around his cabinets.

The only thing that's even remotely neat in there is exactly what Corliss is looking for: syringes lined up in a row with clear, dangerous-looking liquid. Yet oddly there isn't much left. Keshin must have been lying when he said he was coming off a big job. No wonder he was so desperate for one that he'd try to kill Terenia. He couldn't afford to wait for Corliss.

Once Keshin is safely up the ramp in his chair, Tora joins Corliss in his hunt for the bounty hunter's medicine. "How did you get coerced into doing that?" she wonders aloud, looking up as she comes across a row of needles a few drawers down from where he stands. "Is this it?" she asks him.

"No, I wouldn't call it a mobile prison," Myitt replies.  "Although I suppose things were quite a bit more peaceful before I knew of the existence of all this."  She gestures vaguely around at the clearing.  "Christ.  At this rate, I really am going to need another drink."  She shakes her head.

---

Corliss steps into the medical storage room.  "Yeah, it's a long story," he murmurs.  "He tried to kill me and Mike, so we offered a truce." He looks up and down at the rows of vials.  No wonder Keshin had been so foolishly desperate...

"Yes, I reckon this is the stuff," says Corliss, inspecting the syringe in Tora's hand.

He hesitates for a moment, then takes the vial, turning it over and reading the fine print.  He nods and hands it back to Tora.

"Well, do you want to do the honors?" he asks, stepping back out into the main cabin and walking over to Keshin.  "We don't have much time."

Tora nods, taking a look at the warnings on the side of the bottle, herself, when Corliss returns the medicine to her. The amount in the bottle seems to be the exact dosage needed, although she wonders if Keshin will require more, considering his precarious state.

She walks to the chair and kneels by the unconscious Controller, carefully sticking him with the needle and compressing the syringe with her thumb until all the liquid has been transferred into his body.

Standing up, she turns to Corliss. "Do you know when he last fed?"
