Ossanlin looks at Terenia in response to the outburst, but lets it go.  He wasn't going to kill Tamora...no that wouldn't be good...but he would tell her if she continues to mess with his friends...he wouldn't be so nice next time.  He trots up to Corliss and grasps the harness, undoing the belt before slipping the whole thing over his head and strapping the belt on again.  He bends down to pick up one katana and sheathes it in the saiya at his left hip.  After a bit more searching he spots the other a few feet away, and sheathes that one in the saiya on his right hip.  He checks to make sure his Shredders are still strapped in place and that all the rations and meds are still where they're supposed to be.  After finding everything within specs he smiles a bit.  <That feels better.>

Ossanlin trots over next to Corliss, taking advantage of his strange calming abilities to discuss the touchy subject of Terenia's sister.  <Look Terenia, I don't want to hurt your sister.  But I especially don't want you to hurt her.  You might've forgotten, but I've seen your memories...if you caused your sister harm...well I don't think it would be a good thing.  But I AM going to have a little chat with her.  We know from Kesshin that she's the one who put out the hit on you, and probably Myitt and myself as well.  If she wants to put a hit on me, fine.  I'll deal with that myself.  But when she starts threatening my friends...she will have me to deal with...and I won't play around with stun mines next time.  She needs to know how precarious her position is at the moment.  I will not allow her to put my friends or colleagues in danger.>  Ossanlin's gaze softens a bit.  <You've had a hard time of things I know, three species have ravaged you unmercifully.  But I think the person that hurts you most is yourself Terenia.  You need to let all of that emotion and anger go...leave the past behind...start from here on out.  You don't have to go back to Visser 3 anymore...you're free.  And if Efaen truly wishes to be your host...I won't stop you.>

Ossanlin takes a deep breath and turns back toward the bar, trotting out of the treeline and toward the building.

Corliss tears his gaze from Terenia, and follows Ossanlin.

"Wait!" he cries.  "Ossanlin.  My brother.  I thought you....I thought there was tension between you.  Will you risk your life for her?"  He searches Ossanlin's gaze, hopefully, but used to disappointment.

Ossanlin continues to trot towards the bar.  <What Myitt did was unforgivable Corliss.  It was a war-crime pure and simple.  I hope that she brings it up with Reven to serve a sentence and exonerate herself.  However, true friends stick together, even when they know the other is wrong.>

Corliss nods faintly, and follows Ossanlin.  "Unforgivable?"  he demands.  "She destroyed that Imperial to save our people.  Yes, it was gruesome and it could've been quicker.  But she saved us.  She saved our people.  Is that so wrong, my friend?"

<Were it a trial and execution, if Zorish had been able to defend himself...if he hadn't just been given what had turned out to be cruel false hope...but all of these things were not true Corliss.  He was murdered in a plastic tub...a cubic decimeter of sludgy water...blind, no senses...nothing.  And it was not necessary...there's always a memory wipe.  There's always time for more discussion, but Myitt acted in an instant and took a life she had no right to take.  I feel it is the very definition of a war crime.  A war crime is something that no one is supposed to do...ever...under any circumstances.  If we throw everything away, if we act like that...start rationalizing that sort of murder...that sort of crime...then we are no better than the Empire.  But I am still her friend, and she mine.  I hope that she will take it upon herself to rectify the matter.>

"We all live, blind, in plastic tubs," Corliss says neutrally.  "I believe that what my brother did...I hope that what my brother did...was what was necessary for the survival of the rebellion.  I can only hope that this is true."  He shakes his head.  "War crime or not, it was for the benefit of those enslaved by the Yeerk Empire.  I cannot call that a crime, as heinous as it might be."

<And what will you be willing to excuse next if you convince yourself it's for the good of all Yeerks?  The deaths of hundreds of innocent controllers just to kill their Yeerk masters?  A carpet bombing of a homeworld pool because you have intelligence indicating that one of the Council is feeding there and you might just kill him along with the hundreds of innocent Yeerks that want nothing to do with the war itself?>  Ossanlin continues his trot, about halfway back to the building now from the treeline.

Thordon watched the situation with Ossanlin unfold, and the new addition of the Hork-Bajir. He was listening in on the pirate's conversation, when he could smell smoke. Nowhere near any of his consciousnesses could he see smoke. He then began to feel heat in all of his projections. This could only mean one thing, his origin is near the source. He lets go of his astroprojections and his body awakens.

He looks around and sees the ship on fire. He attempts to sense any concetration of electrical energy that would signify a human brain. He senses a presence near a door that has smoke pouring out of it. Thordon reaches toward the door with his bottom hands and uses his mastery of electro-magnetism to pry the door wide open. He could see the boy's form lying on the floor and could sense his energy signature fading. He hovers over to his body and picks him up. He then hovers them both away and to the ground. Hopefully, now clear of the smoke, the young man can recover.

Parker smiled behind his helmet. He wanted so badly to pull Silver's face into his and kiss her; but he couldn't. He would've at least been okay with his visor changing opacity so she could see his eyes; but his helmet didn't have such options. He sufficed with rubbing her cheek with his thumb, and then running his hand through her hair. He nodded and stood back up. He looked around and asked, "Where're your folks?"

The Director returned Tamora's shrug with his own silently saying, Why're asking me? He then sat back and watched the new Hork-Bajir enter and fumble with his self. He chuckled a tad, but mostly stayed silent.

((Hey, Marie, Tara, Salem's ship has no visible external engines. Also no external ****pit or weapons. For now, think of it as an oval so black it's impossible to see depth or features on its surface. None of this glass ****pit windows/signature sci-fi engine glow/blinking lights/big spikes containing laser beams stuff. I'll post pictures of it at some point.))

When Myitt signed off so abrubtly, Salem felt a slight sense of hopeful relief. Maybe it wasn't Temrash's ship to begin with. It could be he'd just borrowed it from whoever was using it now. He said to Al and Keshin, "There can't be two ships like that here. Watch her. If she makes any moves..."

He didn't even have time to finish when a Dracon burst lanced forth and impacted the ship, shaking it and sending it sideways to scrape through the top of a nearby tree. The few items that were left on the shelves in the ship fell to the floor and began sliding around.

"Al!" Salem yelled.

"On it," said Al from within the ship's computer. The ship's outer hull flickered white twice in quick succession as the ship's two shields activated. The ship turned and began to move away from Temrash's ship. "Hull's already damaged, Salem. Let's not get shot much more if we can help it. I'm not a fan of death."

Salem, in the meantime, was touching and changing settings on one of the screens floating near him. "Sneaky ****," he muttered, closing his eyes and streaking his hands across the screens, allowing his mind to sense the ship and guide the weapons. A brilliant white beam, a moderate-powered laser shot, lanced from the ship's hull towards Temrash's ship, firing three times in quick succession.

((Sry Chad, completely forgot to respond to Temrash.))

Ossanlin looks back at Temrash for a moment as he continues his trot toward the bar.  <I apologize Temrash, my ship will only respond to my command.  I thought the precaution a necessary measure.  Kesshin isn't the main problem here...Tamora is the one who ultimately asked for the hit.  Although we can't just let Kesshin run amok...what happened to your ship?>

"That's something, at least." Tamora says, taking a sip of her drink. She hesitates then, before asking him, "So, why do you consider yourself one of us? It's not often you find hosts who are willing to be servants."

---

Trey was pulled out of the wreckage of his ship, fully unconscious. Eyes closed his body does its best to expel the smoke from his lungs, resulting in awful hacking and weezing sounds. After a few minutes of this he quiets, his breathing shallow but uninterupted.

---

Terenia listens to Ossanlin, though her gaze is still on Corliss, even if he has dropped his own. She absorbs his words impassively until the end, when he says that she will be allowed to remain in Efaen if it is what she wants, when she begins biting her lip uneasily.

"Tamora is useless to me now," Terenia says noncommitally, "I...may have acted a bit rashly when I tried to kill her earlier. But I do think it is time we parted ways. I cannot protect her anymore. If she wants to return to the Empire...that is her perogative. I cannot stop her"

Terenia's gaze falls to the ground with this admission of weakness and she crosses her arms to hide trembling hands.

<Just as you cannot stop me,> Efaen reminds Terenia, <We will be returning to the Blade Ship. You will fulfill your duty. Or you will lose me.>

Terenia nods, her eyes burning at the thought.

The bartender returns with Daras drink and food, and he gives him the money. He rips a chunk out of the bark and takes a sip of the juice. The bark tastes good, and the juice is... different but not really bad. As he eats he watches the humans from the empire and glances at the door. Until I know for sure who's my friend and who's not I shouldn't get too close to anyone.

((Thanks, Scott. Edited.))

"Shields!" Tora growls, berating herself for not activating them instantly. She reaches for the lever to engage them, but it is far enough away -- designed for a Hork-Bajir's expansive reach -- that before she does, Salem's ship fires back. The beam is so white, her eyes water, and she loses sight of the lever. They must rely on piloting to avoid this one, if they can.

((Geez. I go to sleep one night and almost 2 full pages of posts come up. I'm so behind...lol))

I'm listening to the conversation, one stalk on the HOrk Bajir while another keeps an eye on Tamora. So. Yeerk sympathizers are still around. And they still have what they consider an Empire. I wonder if their influence has grown. I approach the bar itself, listening to the convo between this Dara and the rest of the group, wondering where that blasted Warrior is with the communicque from Ossanlin. He would be able to clear a few things up, for sure.
