Swordson looked at this new comer then down at his hand "force of habit." He turned to Alic and said "what are they called, and what do they look like, and why are you backing away I am no threat to you right now"

((Alic! Welcome back! We were missing you. And welcome to the bar, quickest!))

Tamora looks up from her scotch, surprised to be addressed by a complete stranger. Her gray eyes, which look flat and unemotional after so much crying, survey Keshin/Joanne dully. She does not initially understand what the woman is saying, something about finding her sister - someone who is most certainly not lost and far closer than she would like - but then she realizes that she is operating under a misconception. Keshin has made a mistake that happened all to frequently when she was a child. A small smile plays over her lips at the memory. It is not a nice smile.

"I'm afraid you are mistaken," Tamora says, taking a sip of her Scotch and forcing herself not to grimace, "You think I am Teresa, don't you?" she shakes her head slightly, "So, she was the one behind this whole fiasco. Interesting..." she trails off slightly, staring into her half-empty drink before looking back up at Keshin, a slightly brighter expression on her face, "I am Tamora. And you are...?"

---

Terenia lets out the thought-speak equivalent to a sigh of exasperation as The Director walks away. She stares after him towards the bar, half tempted to follow him, before turning away.

<We have work to do,> Efaen hisses in her head.

<Yes.> Terenia responds, <We do. That strange man was right. We need to deal with the situation as it is now.>

<Meaning?>

<Tamora is here. I cannot change that. She is useless to me, I cannot change that either. Clearly I cannot save her, and I will not allow her to go back to the Empire. What is it the Hork-Bajir are always chanting in their cells? Free or dead?>

Terenia orders the hatch of her ship to close and begins making her way towards the bar.

Keshin shrugs, as if he isn't entirely sure about what's going on himself. "Nah, not exactly. This is all the fault of the Andalite War-Prince that comes here a lot. Terenia---if that's who you mean---didn't want any of this to even happen. She was sort of forced into it awkwardly. But you'd think she'd be happy to see her sister away from Visser Three."

Keshin then smirks a bit. "My name is Keshin Six-One-Three. I'm a turelek, basically. I've met some of the members of this Bar multiple times. And man...so you're a twin?"

"Yeah," Tamora says with a twisted smile, "It's not quite the party that people seem to expect it to be. She's never happy, for one. In fact, my presence here is likely making her more miserable than ever. Dapsen fool deserves it, though." She gives Keshin a look of renewed interest, "Turelek, you say? Isn't it dangerous to frequent a bar , announcing that fact to the patrons at large? I take it no one here is a mark of yours."

((Welcome, CJ, and welcome back, Patty! Missed you!!!))

Elayne nodded to Mar, watching him for any indication that his last comment had been autobiographical. When he did not immediately speak again, she stopped walking. They had reached a vacant table a dozen feet from where the Andalite War-Prince was standing at he bar.

Breaking her grip on Mar's hand, she murmured, "Just a moment," and hesitantly approached the blue-furred alien.

"Ossanlin," she said quietly, trying not to disturb Myitt, although there was enough racket in the Bar that she doubted the Yeerk would hear her anyway. "Let me know when you're ready for that drink." Not that she would admit it, but her worries about bothering Myitt weren't her primary reason for keeping quiet. It felt vaguely wrong to be cordial with an Andalite after so many years of lobbying for Yeerk rights. If humans were a staunch opposition to her movement, the Andalites were an unyielding stone wall.

It was clear, however, that Ossanlin was different: he was a friend to both Myitt and Mar. Maybe he was like her. She glanced to the Bartender. "His next is on my tab."

(Mar shall wait for Elayne. :3 ))

"Several of the people in this Bar I want to get alone in a corner, if that's what you mean," Keshin says with a slight smirk. "One of them I've already blackmailed into giving me what I want. The other is too much of a constant in my life to kill unless somebody hires me to do it. As for being so blatant about my occupation..."

Keshin grins. "...this is a rebel Bar, my dear. Nobody within ten light years of this place is loyal except you. Least that's what I've heard. And since you can't get here except under certain circumstances, nobody can bust the patrons. And I'm certainly not afraid of any of them. At least, not in a one-on-one fight."

Tamora considers this, her gaze doing another quick sweep of the bar. If Keshin is telling the truth, and there are truly no other Imperial sympathizers here, she may be a long way from returning home.

"But you are not a rebel," she says at last, in a matter-of-fact sort of way. She has met a few bounty hunters in her time, and none claimed any allegiances in the war. Bad for business. "I wonder, since you say you frequent this place so often, if there is anyone here you would consider off limits?"

((Aw, man, this place waits until I'm gone for a little while to get busy? Just did a lot of reading to catch up on the past couple of weeks. Welcome and welcome back, all to whom that applies ;)))

Al and Salem sat at the table, watching out the window as the bar emptied and the drama unfolded outside. "Looks like people here get pretty familiar with each other," Salem commented at one point.

Al nodded, "They're a little serious for me, honestly."

As the crew of the ship filtered into the bar, he noticed the tension in the room seemed to rise to an almost palpable level. Al looked perfectly comfortable, but the aura here put Salem on edge. The woman Keshin was talking to and the one Thordon had gone to drink with seemed particularly down. He wondered, for just a second, how many of these people were Yeerks, too.

When Ossanlin entered the bar, Salem tensed up. This Andalite was obviously high ranking, probably a War-Prince. You could always tell by the way they carried themselves. He took the time to note that he'd been amongst Andalites too long to have picked up nuances like that.

"Staying here is starting to look like a very bad idea. Andalites and bounty hunters do not make my day," he said quietly.

Al smiled. "You worry too much. She seemed nice enough," he said, nodding towards Keshin, "And even if he's from the universe where we're in trouble with the Andalites, what are the odds he's one of the few who'd know us?"

Salem glared at Al, "For being so old, you're awfully trusting."

Al chuckled, "For being so young, you're awfully paranoid."

When someone ran over to the table and told Silver something was wrong, Salem glanced over. There was a lot of commotion in the group that included Silver's parents. He'd been so fixated on the returning crew, it hadn't really registered in his mind. Silver'd seemed nice enough, though.

Salem asked Gaz, "Can I ask what's wrong? Or if I could help somehow?"

Keshin nods, putting his arms in his pockets. "Nah, but I'm not Imperial either. The Empire's filled with some combination of people who want me dead and people I need to get jobs from. But then again so is the Peace Movement, or hell anywhere I frequent."

"As for folks I wouldn't touch..." Keshin pauses, thinking on the subject momentarily. "...I wouldn't go for Ossanlin. Vissers come and go, but War-Princes are a trickier scenario. Particularly him. With his...peculiarities, he might be able to beat or match me. The four-armed guy can light up like a Christmas tree, and there are a couple other weirdos. But anybody normal, Imperial or rebel or otherwise, I'd do."

Tamora looks a little disappointed at the fact that Ossanlin is on the no-go list, but she nods at the remaining list, seeming satisfied. Her gaze shifts to her Scotch and she closes her eyes for a moment, throwing the remainder of the drink back in one swift gulp.

"Oh, ugh," she gasps, swallowing hard. The bartender is already on his way over with a refill, but she waves him off, "Vodka and cranberry. Don't think I can handle another one of those, no matter how much Zorish liked it."

Once she has recuperated slightly from the drink she turns her attention back to Keshin, forcing a smile. "So, what's the going rate for a hit, then?"

Myitt notices Hadrin sitting down some distance away from her and Corliss.  She shakes her head.

"S'okay," she calls over, although Hadrin probably can't even hear her, "I wouldn't sit next to us, either."

Myitt takes the bottle to pour a fourth shot.  It freezes in mid-air.

"Hey!" she yelps.

Corliss takes the bottle away.  "Don't be an idiot," he hisses.  "You can't get yourself pissed in this place!  You're surrounded by a lot of people who probably aren't very happy with you."  He sets the bottle down at the counter, on the side away from Myitt.

"Aw, man, Cor!" Myitt protests, sulking.  She crosses her arms and glares at the bar counter.  "I thought that'd be a good enough reason."

<God, honestly, at this point I'm inclined to agree,> says Tara, feeling a bit loopy.

Hadrin stares at the bartender.  "Uh.   Whiskey sour, I guess?"

The bartender wordlessly gets him the drink.

"****, I don't have any cash," says Hadrin, patting his uniform and feeling pretty lame.

The bartender smiles and writes "Tab" in big, friendly, underlined letters.

"I'd appreciate any help I can get," Asda said. "I need, believe it or not, an extra set of hands to help me analyze this blood sample. Fletcher just brought in a box."

With that said, Fletcher set down a box of equipment.

"Andromeda is being affected by the same serum that changed Morgan," Asda said indicating the large minotaur with one hand. "I need to see if I can come up with a counter before it gets too bad. But first I want to see if I can give her something for the pain without it reacting with the serum."

Asda opened the container and pulled out another computer for analyzing samples. She put out a hand that had a small vial with a blood sample.

"If you want to help you can pop that in the computer to get it analyzed," Asda said.

Gaz came back over. "You'll have to excuse Asda when she's in full doctor mode."

Morgan was next to his wife, trying not to fly into a rage.

Thordon considers what Corliss said to his sister, but interjects, "Yes but, Corliss, doesn't Myitt have many friends here in this very building that would protect her if her lifer were in danger? Regardless of any rash actions, of course. By my observations, it would seem that she has many a person here that wouldn't want her harmed. Many powerful ones at that." He nods his head toward Mar illustrating his point.

The Director walked into the bar and immediately saw Keshin, the bounty hunter, talking to Tamora. Giving the current situation, and Keshin's lack of allegiances, Terenia could become a target if her sister was inclined. He exited the bar and walked to his ship. After unlocking the doors and disappearing into the feaux Bug-fighter, he made his way to the center console. He scanned nearby ships, isolating the signature of Terenia's ship. He sent her a message detailing his worries.

Corliss smirks at Thordon.  "Very observant of you, erh...I beg your pardon, but I can't remember your name?  Suffice it to say that I don't trust anyone in here to act quickly enough, whether they're powerful friends or not.  Besides myself, of course."

Thordon extended his top right hand behind Myitt's back to Corliss, "Thordon, our dealings have been few and far between with many a distraction. So I'm not surprised you don't remember."
