Trey ponders this a moment, continuing to gnaw on his lip. When he answers he dares to raise his eyes so that they are level with Mar's, ignoring the little thrill of fear that this action sends down his spine, "You're wrong," he says, "I am a Yeerk. Maybe not in body, but where it counts. What the Andalites and the humans did was wrong. It was meant as genocide, and maybe they would have succeeded if they had treated us as humans, but they put us aside. Made us different. Made us subhuman. They treated us like slugs."

Trey pauses, catching his breath, surprised at the energy in his voice. He has never been this passionate about anything before. His entire life he had been content to stay below the radar, avoiding trouble at all costs. It was his father, not yet cold in his grave, who spoke of rebellion and mass murders. Yet somehow, for the first time since his father's death, something had clicked into place. He no longer felt lost. In fact, out of his ranting an idea has formed. An idea that seemed so perfect, so insane, it was almost too good to be true.

"Our cause," he says in a slower, calmer, but no less intense voice, "is our freedom. The freedom of the nothlits to live life as they choose, not as slaves. The freedom of the grubs to do what our parents cannot. Return to the pools that should have spawned us."

Corliss smirks.  "Good, two months it is, then.  Maybe less, if you quit hounding me."  He shrugs.  "Sure, there are plenty of things wrong with this little patch of space," he drolls.  "Not least of which being that I'm having a civil conversation with the likes of you."

Elayne listened to Trey silently then looked to Mar with a small smirk and raised eyebrow. "Sounds like he may yet have it in him, hm?" she murmured. "Perhaps you'll find someone to work with you once you reach the homeplanet. Or perhaps before."

She sat back in her chair, turning her eyes back on Trey, considering him more seriously now. "Are you a decent writer? Perhaps you could write some kind of treatise and spread it there before you arrive. Build some excitement, but keep it anonymous..."

~Keiko~
Keiko gave a little jump and then stood up. She didn't answer as he asked about her "Nature Walk" and she gave an ashamed look. She expected to get chastised, but was surprised when he said no more about it. She gave a smile and nodded as he offered to return back to the bar. "I....kinda.....umm. ...got lost." she said lowering her gaze.

"I figured as much, but it's not a big deal. I should have been keeping an eye on you, but something came up. Anyway, let's go back to the bar and relax. If you still want some alone time, you can find a quiet spot in the rafters. It's usually less crowded. I've never actually spent much time up there, even though I'm of an arboreal nature."

Actually, he was talking about jagill, but he decided to keep things simple for now, and not mention he was actually a brain parasite.

Salem chuckled, "Actually, I'm not sure you can. Like I said, that just seems to be the trend with crystals I've seen around that size." He smiled at Silver. "Either way, I don't know what that particular crystal actually is."

Al watched Keshin walk over to converse with a man at the bar, and shook his head. This place needed a little lightening up, as far as he was concerned. For the moment, though, he thought it might be good to try to soak in a little bit of the culture of the bar.

Trey hesitates, looking abruptly as though his train of thought has been derailed once more.

"I...can write," he says hesitantly, "I don't know how well...I've never tried writing anything like that. I know English and Galard, though. A few Yeerkish words from my parents."

"Galard, perhaps," Elayne nodded to Trey. Then she pursed her lips thoughtfully. "Maybe a voice recording might be better, if it were altered to protect your identity. You should speak the way you were just a moment ago--with conviction."

Her eyebrows bunching, she gave him a considering look. He was so terribly young and so terribly frightened. Immediately taking pity on him, and hoping to draw out the strength he had briefly demonstrated a few moments ago, she smiled again, as warmly as she knew how. "Don't take what I say at face value, Trey; adapt it to your own style. You must be confident and flexible if this movement of yours is to be successful."

~Silver~
She gave a little frown and nodded. "Well, can't say I didn't try." she said replacing it to its place. "I can always ask Father." she smiled.

~Keiko~
She gave a smile. "I think I'm good now." she said and a little laugh colored her voice as she followed him back.

Temrash led Keiko back to the bar, and returned to his table where his drink was. Gaz and the others were there, but there was room for Keiko to sit if she wanted to. There wasn't really much else to do besides sit and wait for Myitt and the others to show back up.

Corliss looks up from his drink and finds his gaze wandering toward Elayne and Trey.  They were too far away for Corliss to really hold a conversation with them, but he caught the discussion of Galard and Trey's parents.  Corliss felt, not for the first time, a wave of pity for the boy.

<Great, thinking real happy thoughts then, aren't we?> Mike says, breaking Corliss out of his reverie.

"Hmm," Corliss grunts noncommittally, finishing the beer glancing briefly back at Keshin.

Keshin nods at Corliss almost boredly. "Yeah, there seem to be a ton of problems with this place actually. Most of these, I'm guessing, seem to come from the sheer variety in the bar's clientele. If it isn't Imperials and rebels an extra-dimensional nutjob or a space alien shows up. I wonder why Myitt even comes here."

Keshin then glances at Corliss a bit nervously and says, "Have you...have you heard from her at all? You kind of get a bit soft on a person after a while. Though I'd still kill her if asked."

Mar glances at Trey with a look of surprise. Trey in the past few moments has demonstrated a strength of will he hasn't had in the entire time he's been at the Bar. This is a new development. "So, the young mouse is finally proving that he has bite," states Mar with a sly grin. "You seek to bring your people back to a better, happier time then."

"Good," states Mar with a shrug. "Their pain is useful to me, but at least you have a goal. Now all you need is an army, a base, and a hundred million cans of tomatoes." Mar smirks. "Good luck."

"Tomatoes?" Trey blinks, looking confused, but quickly shakes his head, trying to mentally prioritize, "Elayne is right. I need a starting point. Everyone is so disorganized right now. Things are...chaotic. I need to understand, though. What my father wanted, at the very least, but also what went wrong the first time around."

Terenia returns to the back wall of her ship, leaning against it and sliding down until her butt is resting on the floor. She keeps her eyes fixed on the navigational display, waiting for any sign of the Mirage. She does not know how long she expects to stay there, waiting, but she has no desire to re-enter the bar and face Corliss, not until she knows what has happened.

<Corliss is irrelevent,> Efaen reminds Terenia. Terenia ignores her, hugging her knees close to her chest.

Corliss glares over at Keshin.  "No, I haven't heard from Myitt," he says matter-of-factly.  "Good to know you care..."
