Terenia opens her fist, allowing the bits of grass to scatter onto the mud. She does not raise her eyes to meet Myitt's, but continues speaking, "I know I asked for you to come along for the memory dump and all, but you don't need to involve yourself in this. You said it yourself, your hands are full trying to track down the Imperial. Leave me be and go deal with that. I don't care what Ossanlin says, I know that saving Tammy is only an optional bonus to freeing Efaen and getting valuable intel. None of this is for me."

"Yeah, I understand," Terenia says to Myitt's second comment with a moody shrug, "that weirdo back at the bar....what's-his-face...Matt? Mark? Mar? Whatever...he was going on about it. What's it matter, though? Hell, for all we know our timeline has already changed and we just don't know it. Would we be able to tell if all of a sudden we were completely different people? I'm pretty sure that no matter what reality I'm in my situation will suck."

Myitt crouches down and looks Terenia in the eyes, gesturing idly with her unbandaged arm.  "Well, as far as I'm concerned, you're a big reason why they're doing this.  They're Andalites, do you expect them to wear their hearts on their sleeves?"  She shrugs.  "It's why Corliss and I were interested in you, anyway."  She smiles a bit.  "Let's face it, a human childhood versus life in a sightless pool?  Especially within the confines of the Empire?  I think I know where you're coming from, and why you did this to yourself."

She looks up at the bar entrance, some ways off.  "You're right.  We can't tell the future, of course.  But this place is...well, it's beyond strange.  We have someone here who claims to be from the future.  Is she the way she is now, Earth free and Yeerks living under the shadow of hatred, because Sukohn kills off the Earth resistance to begin with, or is her existence in the fabric of space-time rooted to whatever happens here?  Mutable because of the very nature of this place?  I don't know.  It's just...something tells me this place enjoys ****ing with people's lives."

Terenia runs the back of her forearm across her forehead, leaving a muddy smear on the pale skin there. The angry light in her eyes seems to fizzle a bit, being replaced with exhaustion, "I just..." her words trail off as she seems unsure how to finish the statement. Taking a deep breath, she tries again.

"I guess I'm just sick of people hating me for being me. Just because my goals and morals aren't the same as theirs, that doesn't give them the right to control my life. I can't help who - or what - I am."

Myitt smiles, looking down at her feet as she crouches there.

"You know, we're not too different, you and I," she says quietly.  After a few seconds she looks back up.  "Is it so hard for you to believe that I can agree with you?"

((Hehehe, sorry I've been gone guys. And I'll be gone again tomorrow, although I might stop by to make a post or two. I'm addicted to this video game I've been playing. But for now, Myitt gave me a devious idea that Keshin probably will think of!  >:D Do tell me what I would find in one of these OOC posts! ; )  And feel free to interrupt me at any time! *Cackles*))

Keshin and Joanne wait silently in their place until the group leaves the ship. Keshin then wipes one of the ship's windows and glances outside once he's moved towards the bridge. As soon as the others get out of range, it shouldn't be too much trouble for them to sneak off the ship.

<So Kess, what happens now? Do we follow em' or jus' blow the whole thing over?>

<Well, we agreed to cover Terenia's butt when she makes a break for it. So we might as well stick around and see what we can make of the situation. They're all pretty far out of the ship's sight by now...> Keshin then glances about the ship and frowns. <......hey...Joanne, don't you remember anyone saying that this was Myitt's ship? Or at least a rebellion fighter?>

<Yeah...I seem to remember somethin' about that. What's it to ya?>

Keshin gets a wiry grin on his face and begins to wander down the hallway. <Selling information seemed to work out pretty well for us this time. Let's see how much more we can get of it.>
*******************************************************************************************************************

Mar blinks, watching Terenia leave his side with a smile and some money. Mar then scratches his head. Well that was very bizarre. I’m insulting the brat and then she gives me money. The Bar never ceases to amaze me.

Shortly afterwards, Mar frowns and notices that the presences of the others have left the spot they were in before and separated, along with an unknown person.  Figuring  that this means they have stopped the ship, he darts out of the Bar and through the grassy areas nearby, trying to locate where they might have landed. He imagines that although they have reappeared, it is best to hear it from one of them. To that end, he sends out a telepathic message to Ossanlin. <Ossanlin, how did you fare? Did you manage to stop him? And…more importantly…someone else who wasn’t there before appears to be here now.  How did you manage to pick someone up?>

Ossanlin winces apologetically at Myitt and then nods in response to her comment about Elayne.  <Yes, she bears watching.  And thank you, I think if Terenia can trust anyone...it's you.>

Ossanlin starts galloping toward the Mirage and looks over again as Claxter speaks.  <Some unfortunate things Warrior, come with me, you can help prep the Mirage for launch.  We're going to Earth, I'll explain in a moment.>

Ossanlin veers back toward the Mirage and comes to a skidding halt in front of the point where the ramp will descend as Mar speaks to him.  He sends out a thought to Mar in response.  <We did not fare well...Sukohn escaped...we're about to take the Mirage up after him...we may end up having to go all the way to Earth.>  Ossanlin commands the ramp to descend and he freezes as the second part of Mar's message registers...another person?  <We didn't pick up any other people Mar...we were in low orbit.  Something curious happened with Elayne though.  Perhaps you will be able to tell more...she seemed a bit different when she came here in the first place, like she was a bit displaced or out of place, but she has grown moreso...exponentia lly.  When I'm silver-blade, I can sense a sort of blurriness or fuzziness about her...and the warp of time around her reminds me of the random cascades of a burning star's magnetic field.  It's quite disturbing.  Do you know what might have caused it?>

The ramp finishes descending and Ossanlin climbs up into the Mirage, immediately interfacing with the computer and commanding it to start spin-up and takeoff procedures.

((In case you guys are wondering what the Apix Mirage looks like, imagine an oversized Sting-ray...make it all silver, now shift the 'wings' back a bit and flatten the backs of them so the nose of the craft protrudes somewhat like a space-shuttle, and add a protrusion from the back end of the craft that loops up over the main hull in an arc.  Engine pods are mounted on the back of the 'wings' and protrude out a bit from the back of the ship.  The main cannon, a Haeron class Shredder, the kind you'd find as a main gun on a 'Destroyer' type ship (not nearly as powerful as Dome Ship shredders but powerful enough to threaten larger ships), is mounted on the arcing tail.  Smaller fighter-to-fighter shredder-banks are mounted in the 'wings' and have a continuous firing-arc around the entire edge of the wings.  As you enter from the rear ramp, there are access panels to your left and right which allow access to 'engineering' sections...basicall y a couple of cavities around the engine-pods that allow in-flight service.  These areas also supply access to the underbelly of the ship which houses the main energy reactor, z-space stabilizers, life-support, etc.  Two andalites would be rather cramped in the underbelly, but they can fit...though generally andalites would use a morph in this part of the ship if possible.  Past the original access panels, there are arced walls to your left and right.  The right one closes off the medical area, the left one closes off the equivalent of crew-quarters.  The entrance hallway opens out into a 'prep' area with energy-field munitions lockers, it is also covered in grass so doubles as a feeding area.  A short hallway on the far side of the room leads to the flight deck which can comfortably house three Andalites.  The med-bay is small as are the crew-quarters.  Med-bay can hold three andalites, the crew-quarters are the same size but have no machinery and can house four andalites.  The main feeding area is the size of a large conference room.  Okay, I think that does it.  Any questions, let me know.   :)   ))

(Aww. I don't have any future people to commit character derailment on. Oh well. I'll post for sukohn once you guys enter Z-Space.)

<Yes sir.> Claxter said, and hurried behind Ossanlin. <You said we may have to go all the way to Earth. Weren't we going to anyway? Or are we postponing rescuing Efa-Tamora?> He said. He almost said Efaen instead of Tamora, but quickly corrected himself. knowing his new Prince, he probably caught that bit of mistake.

<I have a tactical question. During the mission on earth, will we be using lethal force on Human controllers? I ask because Earth is not yet taken, and you and Myitt might want me to show restraint.>

Issid, who was standing against the Bar's external wall near the door, gasped as the door was flung open and Mar raced out, blasting right past her. Once she realized he wasn't running after her, she gave a sigh of relief and began searching dream-Elayne's memories for the location of her ship.

<You want to get offworld?> Elayne asked her, realizing her intentions.

<If we stay here, we're going to be found out,> Issid said. <And I doubt you do not particularly want to be away from Earth much more than I do.>

Instead of watching her host's thoughts moving to Essam as she expected, they drifted to Mar and Ossanlin, which led Issid to realize that Elayne was pondering how to become free of her.

She snorted and headed towards where she hoped the previous Elayne's ship still was. <Not going to happen, little human.> She kept an eye on Mar as she crossed the flat gravel-covered ground, hoping he did not spot her.

((okay.. im back.. whew... The only way Alic missed out on the excitement.. was.. she.. was taking a nap. yes. Because there is no way i can go back and reread everything and reply to it all. No way she would miss out on Earth though...))

Alic came out of a locked room from somewhere inside the bar. She hated that the door had to be locked, but you just couldn't trust half of the beings that were occupying the bar at the moment. She morphed human, ready to have a drink, but noticed ther bar was for the most part empty. Where was everyone?
She went to the door and looked around, seeing some of her friends near Ossanlin's ship. ((assuming i can see it from the door.. i dont remember....)) Were they preparing to leave without her? Alic frowned and ran to a closet where she threw a backpack she had brought with her. She unzipped it and took out a pair of sneakers. Worn black low-top converse. Running outside without shoes the last time had been a mistake, and she really didn't feel like demorphing right now.
Alic slipped her feet into the shoes and tossed the backpack back into the closet and ran towards the ship where Ossanlin was.

Terenia gave Myitt a weak smile, "I don't know," she says with a shrug, "I guess I'm just used to people turning their back on me. Besides, I don't want you...or even the Andalites...to get hurt because of me. I can't take any more blood on my hands."

Her eyes focus beyond Myitt, in the direction of the shipyard. It seems as though the majority of the bar's members have relocated themselves there.

"What are they doing?" she wonders, frowning to herself.

Myitt nods.  Then she stands up, following Terenia's gaze.

"I don't know," she replies thoughtfully, "but Ossanlin's ship is in that direction.  Come on, we'd better go see what's happening."  She pauses and offers a hand to help Terenia up.  "Don't worry," she adds with a smirk.  "I'm not trying to get you on my good side just so we can screw you over.  Like I said, there's something very serious going on, and you should be aware of it."

((Kelly--the Skimmer houses a front cabin with four main eye-like viewscreens, a centered navigational control panel, weapons systems to the left, and co-pilot/tactician's controls to the left.  There are three metal seats that have been installed in front of all of these; the center, nav control seat is a bit off-kilter at the moment.  Ringing the grey cabin floor, against the pale white walls, are three extra seats on each side for passengers--these are stuck into the wall, much like bus seats.  The cabin is almost three times the size of a Bug fighter's cabin, and it can fit five crew members comfortably (and a total of nine or ten humans for temporary transport).  At the rear of the cabin are two doors.  One leads to a small storage room with emergency life support, medical supplies, emergency pool rations, food and so on.  The other leads to a slightly smaller room, housing a medium-sized Yeerk pool tub with a plastic lid.  Currently ready for use, but unoccupied.  There is also a small computer terminal with a holodisplay, and a panel that houses the (broken) memory dump probes.  Beyond the pool room are the small crew's quarters, which are bunk-style and not very roomy.  Beyond the quarters is the engine room, the smallest of them all but large enough to house the engine components.  Right now the Skimmer is in fair working order, but it needs thruster repair, shield servicing and probably a dampener realignment.

Boy, it's fun to pretend to sound like a space mechanic XD))

Terenia hesitates, but reaches up and grabs Myitt's hand, allowing her to help her to her feet. Casually brushing bits of grass from her legs, she gives Myitt a serious look.

"I'm serious about what I said earlier, though. Messing with time is no small thing. What if by trying to stop the Imperial we actually negatively affect our timelines? Do we even know what universe he is from?"

Myitt shakes her head as she helps Terenia to her feet.  "No, there's no way of knowing what universe Sukohn is from," she admits.  "The whole thing makes my head hurt.  I just don't want to take the chance, especially since Ossanlin says he's detected some sort of unnatural change in Elayne's position in space-time.  If you'd ever told me when I was young that I'd someday be friends with an Andalite, and not just an Andalite but one that had preternatural powers manipulating the fabric of the universe--I'd have told you you were cracked."

She smiles and turns toward the shipyard, pausing for a moment as she spots Elayne.

"Hey!" she calls, oblivious to Elayne's attempt at being stealthy.  "Where do you think you're going?"

Issid gave a start and looked to Myitt with owlish eyes. <Told you you were acting too strange,> Elayne remarked.

<Shut up,> she grumbled. Composing herself, she straightened and faced Myitt. "I was heading to my ship," She approached her and Terenia so she would not have to shout across the yard and attract the attention of Mar, Ossanlin, or any of the other Bar patrons who made her edgy. "Since I'm probably not going to be back here for a while, I wanted to collect a few things."

"Do you need help carrying things?" Myitt asks.  "You may be gone for a while, it's best to pack too much than not enough."

Glancing back at Terenia, she continues, "Don't forget, Matthew's still going to be meeting Zorish at the New Mexico location the day after tomorrow.  Ten A.M.  Zorish should have the exact coordinates.  Please let me know if Zorish contacts you when I'm not hovering over you like this, alright?"
