"Yes there has been a long tradtion here of the supernatural. Yes extra-sensory perception, psychics."
Elizabeth? as a last name that was one of the last psychic families in england in fact if she remebered correctly it still trained its members through the anicent master - apprentice relationship. "Do you have any family near here?"

Chad

Odrett told them everything that happened after Chad was hit. He went as far as when Chad escaped the interrogation room, but didn't mention passing out in the storage closet. "I ran out of the special tea, and was running out of steam. fortunately, most of these controllers are keeping their distance. When they come again, I may have to stay behind you guys. Wicked headache. I can't even keep still.

Darron
He followed behind but keept his mental stealth on once or twice he ducked behind something to regain his focus and follow. Being in a ninja school had taught him more than a few things. His father was a diplomat and as such he thought he should at least know a few ways to defend himself in an unfriendly nation that is why his mother signed him up for the lessons in the first place.

Darron hated being a safeguard even though he told himself over and over that he needed to be there in case something screwed up.

You didn't answer my point.  You've got adults to fight this for you, do you care that your students are even now in danger.  7923 was no high ranking official, but it knew what was going on.  You know about the plans to capture your students.  I assume you realize that the visser your dealing with is a computer genius.  He pulled information from the files.  He knows who attacked the pool, both times.  Have you explained to your students the essence of strategy.  Maybe a few yeerk weaknesses.  You've obviously revealed kandrona, but guess what.  Thanks to some quick freezing, hundreds of thousands of yeerks were saved.  They have the frozen yeerks stashed away in a hidden area.  I assume you already know where this is.  Your problem is, you are dealing with kids.  I don't care how much you think you know about them, or how much you think you understand.  You've let one of them die, and it wasn't in a battle.  He was recovering.  It may have been my fault.  I was with him, but in the end, he was your little soldier.  Regardless of Merlin or not.  That in itself proves you didn't do much evaluation into your people.  The visser is already designing specific ways to take all of you down.  One for each.  Though now he only needs one less."  She was hurting inside, she accepted part of the blame, but she was sure it wasn't all her fault.  Blaming the god was worthless, he hadn't picked up a gun to kill Acre.  She stood up.  "Look, you fight this war how you think it's right.  What I think doesn't matter.  I'm barely older than your bullet attractors.  I studied to run a business, and part of it was reading people.  I can't read you, which alone tells me all I need to know.  You can't run a war like a business, and you have to have sacrifices.  How many more do you plan on leaving to bleed out?  Do you plan on telling them the dangers?  I bet you have told them, but they are kids, indestructible.  They don't know death."  She took a deep breath.  "This is life, it's real.  Acre is dead, soon as the visser completes his work, you will take more.  I'm not one of your subjects, nor am I your student.  My parents are dead, and whether your psychic stuff is true or not, I'm alone right here, and right now.  Your war concerns the world, but a person only has so much to lose."
I may be drunk, Miss, but in the morning I will be sober and you will still be ugly.

Sierra

Sierra turned around.  This was the third or fourth time she had.  The feeling that someone was watching her wouldn't leave.  In an attempt to ignore the feeling, she shuddered and turned back.  It didn't work.  It felt as though spiders were attacking her neck, and she brushed behind her head to be sure.  Nothing.  She tensed and continued walking.  If there was someone there, she would be ready.

Chad

Odrett noticed Sierra was tense. <She has no real combat skills. All she has is an annoying ability to control the people around her. I wonder how she would like it if we found a way to harness that power.>

<Forget it, slug. The second you leave my head to go back to your pool, you will die. I will destroy you, and every Yeerk within my range.>

<Not if you are unconscious at the time. Using your powers would be worth the cost of sedative injections every three days. On another note, it seems we may be followed. I could easily send a pulse of telekinetic energy to see if it connects with something that isn't seen.>

He said this to Sierra, as otherwise it would be hard to override her foul order. "If you suspect anything, I can do it."

<And perhaps even use that window of opportunity to secure my freedom.>

Sierra

Sierra slowly nodded.  "A pulse.  A small one, though.  Not powerful enough to do more than knock out the person or thing that's following us.  And don't let the pulse hit any of us."  She motioned to Chad, and had him stand in front of her.  She didn't want her back to him.

Chad

<I can't quite figure out if she knows you're a controller, or if she's just being smart.> Odrett said, as he sent out a pulse down both sides of the hallway, then down adjoining hallways. It did connect with something! A stranger was revealed!

Also from somewhere came rushing footsteps. It seemed like a large crowd was converging on them. "I think enemy reinforcements are coming as well. This guy may have clued them in on our location!"

Sierra

Sierra cursed.  "We have the invisibility in our suits.  We'll go invisible, and you press against the wall.  Try to hide yourself as best you can.  Send a pulse out to knock them unconscious when they're in sight.  Don't give them time to contact anyone or to fire anything at us."

Darron
He cursed, idiots didn't they know he was an ally. He must have let the stelath drop. What he needed was darkness he could never really track good in the light. He couldn't hit all five of them. He sent a message to the headmisstres. "<They think I am the enemy tell them who I am except chad of course.>"

The Headmisstress
She recieved the message and sent one to the twins and Sierra.
"I hadn't realised the enemy knew of our location I guess the studnets were more carless than I thought. I always think with logic. Yes I run it like a buisness sometimes but I don't treat people as property. If I could be more emotional like you then I wouldn't be able to accept things as they are. Acre is lost. We must accept that and there will be a time for mourning but not now if the information is correct we must prepare to evacuate. Oh and for your own and our saftey I would like you to come with us."

Sierra

Sierra received the message.  She was an idiot!  Why hadn't she realized this?  It was probably her fault their location was given away.  "Change of plans."  She said.  "I don't like the odds.  We need to get out.  Now.  Don't send the pulse, Chad.  We need to get back to the school.  We can't take any more risks.  Hurry!"

Chad

<Good. we're on the move. Chaos will allow me to separate from the female's agonizing presence!> Odrett said as they ran. Hork-Bajir flooded the hallways, armed with dracon beams. They shot, and Cody and Chad attacked back. Cody deflected the beams back at them, while Chad steamrolled them. But there were too many. at an intersection, a few came close, and began getting between them. That was his chance. He broke away, and got some distance down another hallway.

<Sierra!> Chad yelled, impotently.

<She can't hear you, and now we are out of range.> "Burn this place to the ground!" He said aloud. "I, Odrett 492 of the Kelroff Pool command you! Burn the fools, as they are too dangerous to be kept alive! My superior has other plans for the rest of them!"

Sierra

Sierra felt something tugging at her mind.  She whirled around.  She had lost Chad!  Again, she berated herself about her stupidity.  She let out a string of swears that would put a sailor to shame.  She pulled Cody away.  "We need to find Chad.  And get out.  Now!"  She pulled him away, searching for Chad.  She told any yeerk that caught her to let her go and forget her.  Where was Chad?

"Firearms will not work on the male, as he can deflect lasers and bullets. Close combat won't work on the female because she can control minds." Odrett told some Hork-Bajir that he had gathered together for protection in a room down the hallway. "Have someone turn off the sprikler system so it doesn't put out the fire. They will be consumed by a force that cannot be ordered or easily contained. I must get to my Sub-visser to report to him. And find that other Human. He is not one of us."

You shouldn't have chosen a mix of emotion and logic when you chose them.  You should have done full profiles and chosen based on pure usefulness, ignoring the age factors and all that.  You didn't.  Or you could have gone with pure emotion.  Choosing people with no families, people who had the least to lose so that when casualties were taken, less people would be hurt.  Less future would be lost.  You didn't.  Emotion is a bad thing to go on when running a business, I assume it's more so when running a war.  If you want me to go with you, well, you'll make me go with you, but I'm sure you would rather have me come willingly.  I'd like to do some psych profiling.  If I can tell you each persons weakness, you'll be stronger.  Strengths come naturally from that.  I'd also like to evaluate who you are going to send against the yeerks when this flawed group has fallen.  But before all that, I'd like to return to Acres apartment.  Since I know you probably have older, and more experienced people for examining psych files, losing me means nothing.  You don't have to grant my wishes in either case, I just feel that since you enjoy using my generation so much, I might be a good choice for the evaluation.  I admit I've had training, but it wasn't in your special magical stuff.  I can take care of myself so I will go alone.  You could send someone after me, but then you'd be risking another agent who could be compromised.  That's not worth the keeping of a single person who is ineffective in your fight safe.  Considering he idea that you have been compromised already, my capture will mean nothing.  Though that's a low chance as I plan on dying before I am captured again."  She stood up.  She had done it with tests before, and she was doing it now.  Reaching deep within herself she had turned off the emotions flooding her thoughts.  Things were clear and concise.  The end justified the means, the world was black and white.  She saw that her endeavor was a foolish one, but it was a required risk.  She stood up and walked out the door.  "I'm going to the apartment."  With that, she walked out the door.
