I knew there were several more. Only one gave in, though. He stumbled out of the bushes, trembling, and dropped his Dracon beam. What a whimp. "D-don't kill me," he blubbered.

<Good to know that I chose right when I sent the message to the jaquar. Bit scared I had contacted a Controller. Anyways, I'll try my best to make a presence and help you out. But I'm not the most forceful guy around, even though I'm currently a several hundred pound animal that could probably crush these people.>

I watched as one human came out and dropped his weapon. That situation seemed under control, so I turned my attention to making myself seem more forceful. I growled a little to show off the teeth, and tried positioning my paws so they could clearly see the claws. Of course, I hoped my size alone could scare them a little. I really didn't want this to get to violent. The others could probably live with killing someone; I couldn't.

"Don't touch him!" I cried, throwing my arms out in front of Aaron. He laughed in response. "Aaron, I thought you were dead!"

"You thought wrong."

"But--how..." It finally dawned on me. Aaron was a Controller. He wasn't screaming the night they took me because they were killing him. He was screaming because he was being infested.

"You're one of them?" It wasn't a question. I knew the answer. But I could barely believe it myself.

I was confused, that was for sure. I knew who Ais was, but the rest I had no clue. When this was all over with I'd have to ask about it. Meanwhile I moved my way over to where Ais, making sure to keep an eye on the rest of the Controllers. The man she had let go ran past me, and I didn't give him a second thought.

<So, Ais, any plans on what to do now?>

I was hoping to get out of this without a fight, but it was starting to look like there might be one. My stomach dropped at the thought of it, but the grizzly bear seemed ready to rumble. I kicked myself mentally for chosing something that was known to be aggressive. It just wasn't my style.
