(Nice! We've got some REAL morph-variation! Yaaay! If anyone wants to do a morph the same as one of mine, I've got no problem with it. I know how cool the Peregrine can be, for instance, and Edward and Ais both already have Orca morphs. There are only so many animals to choose from, and copying IS NOT a sin, okay?)

"Hmmmn. Do you have an aerial morph, Edward? We could look for more morphs from the air. We still have a bit more than fifteen minutes."

People were beginning to stare. I didn't blame them. After all, I was soaked from head to toe and shivering. A few even approached me and asked if I was all right. I just nodded and walked off.

Now I had been walking for fifteen minutes. I'd managed to sneak into one of the smaller exhibits and aquire a snake, but I doubted that would help me right then. As I headed out of the exhibit, I noticed two figures standing nearby. "Ais! Edward!"

"Leah! Why are you wet? Have you gotten any good morphs? I was just about to go bird to fly around and scope out more morphs, and I was wondering if anyone would like to come along."

With an aviation morph secured, it was time to start working on aquatic morphs. I was going to need two kinds; salt water and fresh water. Heading over to the aquarium I started searching around for some fish. Lucky for me they had a small exhibit were you could pet the fish. It was a brook trout, nothing special, but it would work its purpose. It was a bit weird for a teenager to want to pet the fish, but I didn't really care. I touched it's backside, and concentrated. A minute later I was washing my hands with sanitizer while it snapped itself from its trance.

With a freshwater fish done with it was time to head over to the saltwater animals and fine one for that purpose. I settled on a common dolphin. They were smart, playful, and native to the area. Even better, I was able to convince one of the handlers to let me feed them as part of a school project. It wasn't to hard to get that DNA. After thanking the trainer I headed out of the aquarium.

Sitting down on one of the benches I tried to think on what to do next. I'd need a battle morph, that was for sure. But what animal would I get? Lions, tigers, and bears (I resisted the 'oh my' thing) were options, but I wanted something a bit more original and rounded. They were tough alright, but not native to these parts of the world. Okay, maybe bears, but people aren't usually receptive to bears walking around the neighborhood. I could get one like a black bear, but I still wanted something to use when I didn't need brute strength.

Then it hit me; raccoons. They were common animals that no one would be suspicious of. They were also small but vicious little animals when cornered. But still, their size would make them seem harmless. It would also give an advantage when stealth was needed. It was perfect.

Getting up I headed over to the mammal section. Starting with the small mammals I found where the raccoons where kept. Sneaking around I found the entrance to the exhibit. I had bought some cheap crackers at a snack bar before coming there, and so I held one out. A raccoon eventually found its way over, and we pretty much traded. He got the cracker, I got the DNA. Leaving the habitat I headed over to the large mammals. Finding the grizzly bear exhibit I very carefully got in. Even though the one I was after was raised in captivity, I was still as scared as heck. I would have morphed into that hawk right then and there and flew out, except I would have probably been tranquilized for being an escapee.

"Okay, nice bear. I'm not going to hurt you." I weakly said as I got closer. It didn't seem to really care, though my eyes never left from its claws and teeth. I touched it, and as soon as I got the DNA I got out of there as quickly as possible.

Once felt safe and as far from that exhibit as possible I breathed a sigh of relief. I had gotten all the morphs I would need for now. I made a quick mental list;

Broad Wing Hawk- For flying
Common Dolphin- Salt water
Brook Trout- Fresh water
Grizzly Bear- Muscle
Raccoon- General use
Alright, I think thats good for now. Off to find...

"Ais, I was wondering where you went. I saw you earlier and I guess you didn't hear me. I'm guessing your here to get morphs?"

"Yep! The three of us split up earlier, and we just found each other now. Are you here alone? Do you want to come along and look for some morphs from the air? We have about ten minutes until we need to go back to the community centre to check on Alistair, which is plenty of time to grab some more useful morphs."

"Yeah, I'm here by myself. I'll have to take a rain check on that flight though. I,uh, didn't bring any morphing clothes so I don't think I should morph. Besides, I think I'm good when it comes to morphs. About the only thing left would be some kind of insect,  but I can get that at home. I'll just wait at the entrance till you get back, and then I'll go with you all to the community centre. I have to be back home by seven though."

"Okay. If anyone else is coming, follow me."

I jogged to the nearest bushes and chucked my outer clothes, hiding them carefully in the dense foliage. The morphing suit was quite comfortable, but it would look conspicuous, so I started immediately to morph the Peregrine Falcon.

(pretend I mentioned my dolphin morph...)

I nodded with Ais' suggestion, and morphed into my falcon morph, loving the feathers. <I've actually never USED this morph... how does one fly?> I asked. But my razor sharp eyes noticed three animals - a lion, a grizzly bear, and a bobcat - lurking around. <Uh, Ais? Last time I checked, we only had two other enemies, and there's a lion with them now.> I said quickly.

I sighed nervously. For the past five minutes, I had been leaning against a wall. Nothing to do now but wait. Wait until we got back to the community center where we would have our first real battle. I was excited and afraid at the same time.

<Leeeeaaahhh.> Someone said to me in thought-speech. I glanced up, but Edward and Ais were no where in sight. So who was calling...

<We have your friends. Give up now and we won't hurt them.> Yeerks. A chill ran down my spine. The Yeerks had them? (They really don't, it's a trap.)

<Meet us behind the aquarium if you want your friends to live.> I would meet them at the aquarium. But they wouldn't be seeing a fifteen-year old girl.

I dashed to the corner of the building I had been leaning against, took off my clothes, and began to concentrate on the polar bear. Soft, white fur. Beady black eyes. Enormous paws...

The morph this time was less frightening than the one before, and luckily, the polar bear instincts were failry easy to control, despite the fact that I was surrounded by helpless, weak little humans that I could easily kill and... Control, I wanted myself mentally as I began to walk toward the aquarium.

Most people payed no attention to me. A few gasped and gave me suspicious looks, but for the most part, no one cared. The back of the aquarium was completely deserted. I was alone. Something wasn't right. A rustle from the nearest bush made me realize I wasn't alone after all...

<Leah! Look out! Lion behind you!>

I rolled into a steep dive, aiming for the big cat's back.
"Tsseeeear!!"

I raked it with my talons, flapping fast to get more altitude. The cat wheeled on me, and I barely escaped.

<Take that, ye' great eejit!>
"Kyyy-eeeeeeee!"

I shrieked a combination of rage and exhilaration, the hunting cry of a predatory bird.

<Aisli, the RAID didn't hold me, but that was sure a good trick.>

<Alistair?>

<How many other lions do you know? I'm not a Yeerk anymore. The Chee did a brain-scan on me and sorta' zapped the slug. They let me go free.>

<I'm supposed to believe you?>

<Of course!>

<Laddie, you're an even bigger eejit if ye' think that I'll buy that on your word!>

I shouted in wide-band thought-speak.

<Guys, Alistair is loose, and he's a lion! Watch out, 'cause he en't alone!>

<I think I realized that!> I cried out as I fought both the grizzly bear and the bobcat in my wolf morph. <Sucks about Alistair though...> I commented as I dodged a bobcat swipe. I leapt around the bear, and sunk my teeth into the back of the bobcat's neck, paralyzing it, then turning my attention to a big bear fist about to hit me. I flew across the zoo, slamming into the monkey cage, dazed, as the Bear-Controller made his way towards me. <So, Edward. Should I kill you, or just reinfest you?> The bear asked, grinning. <The pool is right here>

I sailed down, landing in a nice, bushy spot, and demorphed.
Fast as I could, I morphed Jaguar. THIS kitty-cat was FIERCE. Whew. He made the cougar seem right friendly, in comparison. He didn't like that bear on his territory.

Control. Now.

<Edward, I'm coming. Hang in, there!>

<What do you know.> I said, as a human stumbled out of the bushes, trembling and aiming a strange gun at my head. "Don't. Move." I would have laughed, had I not been a polar bear.

<A gun. How impressive.> I raised my left paw to smack it out of his hand. Suddenly, there was a flash of light, followed by an unbearably loud, high-pitched squeal. I stared at the human controller, not understanding what had just happened. I looked down and noticed a bloody hole in my leg. Pain like nothing I've ever felt exploded from the wound. I screamed loudly in thought-speech.

<Don't come over here!> I cried. <The humans have extremely dangerous weapons!> I felt so weak, helpless, and pathetic. Then the polar bear instincts kicked in. Instead of feeling only pain and fear, I felt fiery rage and hatred.

I lunged forward and barrelled into the man. He hit the ground with a hard thud, gun flying far behind him. His expression was one of pure terror. But I wasn't done yet. I slammed my good paw into the side of his head. Once. Twice. Three times. He was unconscious now. Blood trickled from the gashes I had left in the side of his face. It was time to finish him off. I lowered my head and dug my teeth into his neck and began to gnaw at his tendons and flesh, making my way inside of his body with my teeth. Wait a minute... I jerked away and recoiled at the sight of the dead man in shock. Had I just...

(Alrighty then)

The wolf inside of me was frightened at the big cats, but I controlled it, wary of the bear. I got up, and paced around the Controller, hoping for an opening that I can use. <And Leah? Its called A Dracon Beam.... its dangerous. I used to have one. Morph back now>

<You do realize that we're on top of a Pool.. there are gunmen everywhere> The bear said, threateningly. <You'll never get away>

I limped away. I had to find Edward and Ais. They were probably in danger. I was right.

Edward, now in wolf morph, was surrounded. Two wildcats stood behind him. A bear stood in front of him.

<Edward, run. I can... Take these guys.> The truth was, I was gasping for breath now and growing light-headed, but my friends needed help.
