I sighed, and made a futile motion with my hands. "Seeing as how my Yeerk didn't starve to death, I didn't get his memories. I do know that he was planning on using me in the organization - known as Darcon Enterprises - to teach about the "value" of collectivism. Seemed a bit shifty to me. I thought they were going to enslave everyone there... the seminar is in about 2 weeks..."

(I'm ba-ack!! Hiya!!)

"Well, I suppose that that will give us plenty of time to figure out who we can trust, and plenty of time to get some decent morphs. Let's get settled in, and we'll pick up from there."
The universe is, instant by instant, re-created anew. There is, in truth, no Past, only a memory of the Past. Blink your eyes, and the world you see next did not exist when you closed them. The only appropriate state of the mind is surprise. The only appropriate state of the heart is joy. The sky you see now, you have never seen before. The perfect moment is now. Be glad of it.

Wait... Two weeks? Seminar? Yeerks? I couldn't help but smile right then. This was the perfect opportunity for revenge. The Yeerks would regret the day they came back to this planet. I would make them.

"Are we going to attack?" I asked, feeling both nervous and excited.

"Well, that depends on a group decision. I'd like to check it out, at least. Who knows what we might learn?"

In truth, I was almost shaking with anticipation of a strike, but I wasn't going to show it. Self-control was of utmost importance, right now.

My heart sank slightly with disappointment. If we didn't attack, we would spy? That would be exciting. I'd get to listen in on all their plans. But that was still two weeks away. In the meantime, I had other things to worry about. Like Alistair. And aquiring the right morphs. Of course, I was relieved to finally sit down. All this running and chaos had left me both physically and mentally exhausted.

"What do we do now?" I asked.

"Well, other then keep both Alistair, Estelore, and myself locked up for the next three days, me writing my exam, hopefully, and letting other people decide what to do with us, I would say that we should take a trip to the closest zoo or forest, and let people get other morphs." I said. "As far as I know, Leah only has that one bug morph, and Estelore, I think you only have a housecat.. I wouldn't mind getting more morphs..". I sighed, and buried my head in my hands.

"Ugh... you really aren't going to let us out for 3 days?"

(Hah! Ye' used my username! *chuckle* I have to go to bed very soon, so g'night!)

"You can leave, but only if someone goes with you. The same goes for the rest of us. We cannot take any risks, especially not now. We should definitely hit the zoo, though. Soon. I already have an idea of what morphs I want, if they have them."

Seeing that big, brown cat in my dream had given me the feeling that I would be wise to acquire just such a cat...although I had no rational reason for doing that.

(Heh... oops... THAT was a mistake)

"Alright, that works perfectly well, so long as I'm not with Alistair..." I commented, realizing the fear that I had of getting reinfested. "As for morphs, I'm hoping to pick up something NOT in the canine family..."

(Oh, yeah...remember, Aisli does NOT know that the Chee can just 'brain-scan' us for Yeerks. I know it myself, of course, but Norin himself would have to mention it before the characters can know about it. When he told us Edward was a Yeerk, Aisli just assumes that he has done something obviously Yeerkish.)

"Why not a canine? Aside from the fact that, pound-for-pound, a cat is stronger, faster, better equipped, and has climbing skills, why no wolves?"

Control yourself, Ais. Sarcasm can give away your motives. Think before you blab.
I mentally muttered to myself, silently wishing that sarcasm and cynicism didn't come QUITE so easily to me.

I offered a half-hearted grin. "I already have a Golden Retriever morph, as well as a Gray Wolf morph... my only other morph than those two is a falcon." I think. "It would help to have more morphs, though.. And the canine family is much more capable then the feline family. Sorry Ais." I chuckle at that.

"Capable only in terms of range and group functionality. Felines can also live in any terrain, although they are more specialized, and most can swim as well as any canine. When it's a gray wolf against a mountain lion, the cat wins. The wolf only wins if it's in a group and away from the nearest place of elevation. Give the cat some height, and the cat has all the advantage that it could ever need."

Oh, drat. What have you done, now?

I grinned, noticing a challenge. "Canines can be found in every single area of the world, save Antarctica. The fact that the canine has group functionality as its strength is its greatest feature. Yes, it would be much harder for a lone wolf to take down a lone mountain lion, but which one would you want to rely on when it comes to safety, rescue missions, and the like? Wolves are naturally adaptable to work in a group, and therefore, works with humans more easily. And as a final point, just because they work in groups better, doesn't mean canines are useless on their own. It would be a tough match between the canine and the feline.

"Really? Have you ever observed a fight between a house-cat and a small dog? The cat wins every time. The cat is also quite capable of driving off larger dogs. A mountain lion weighs between 80 and 100 pounds, and grey wolves weigh 60 to 80 pounds. A timberwolf, at best, can get up to 120 pounds, and the cat STILL trumps him."

"I've seen fights where the dog has won... my friend had a standard poodle that had a very effective tactic of beating cats: the dog bit the cat by the tail, and swung the cat into a tree. Worked every time." I said. (That incident actually happened with my cousin's dog... it was a standard poodle v. a small house cat)

"But regardless, I find my wolf morph very effective at fighting... but maybe its because its human strategy with a wolf's body"

"I suppose so, but a lion or a tiger would still turn your wolf morph into a bloody pulp. I've seen tigers take on bears and win, and a bear makes a wolf look like a puppy. Against a human, naturally the canine would win, but you'll be wanting something with more firepower, if you ever cross paths with someone that can morph a Cape Buffalo or a Grizzly."
