<Wha... Oh. Heh, I guess I did lose control. Sorry about that.> Now, I began to concentrate on my human self again. I could barely remember what I looked like, but that didn't matter. The sooner I got out of this weird, little body, the better.

When I finished demorphing, I grabbed my clothes and slipped them on, grateful that Ais had taken me into the tunnel. My injuries were gone now. My skin no longer burned and bled, and I could actually walk. It was a good thing I had aqcuired that insect the night before.

After I was completely human again, Ais demorphed as well. We both headed out of the cave.

I stepped out into the light to find that Alistair was gone.

"NUMPTY!!! EEJIT!! How did he get away?!?"

I rounded on Edward.

"Where did he go?"

(Leo, anything is game. Flip a coin, if you like. I'll let someone other than me decide if Alistair is a Yeerk or not. I've done enough plot-manipulating for one day, I think, and it should be someone else's turn. ;))

(your plot manipulation rocks... don't worry about it)

I arched my eyebrows, bemused. "He's behind you. He was ABOUT to run away... but I knocked him out again with the mag-lite. Handy little object."

I continued. "As well, Leah's little bug trick reminded me... I have my teachers exam in two days... I'm not so sure that you want to sit in an uncomfortable waiting area for upwards of 3 hours..."

"Hmmmn. Well, I CAN think of a viable solution...but you'd have to lead us to where Norin was keeping you...and we'd have to trust you that far."

I puzzled it over for a few moments.

"Considering the rescue earlier, as well as the fact that I can probably hip-toss you, whether you believe me or not, I think that I'll trust you exactly as far as I can throw you. Leah? Will you come help us haul my unconscious brother to Norin's place? I don't trust him enough right now that I want to do that alone."

"Fine with me. It's not like I have anything better to do," I said, shrugging my shoulders. I bent over and lifted the man's feet.

"Wait... what? Are you going to let me write my exam?" I said as I grab Alistairs arm. "God, your brother is heavy!" I said as we moved towards Norin's place.

I grabbed his other arm and started hauling him forward awkwardly.

"Yes, he is heavy. Yes, you'll get to write your exam. The Chee can follow you and make sure that you aren't a Controller, and it won't interrupt your day even one bit. Okay? Now, which way is Norins' place?"

"Its Stanford Community Centre... apparently its very safe..." I said as we labouriously moved Alistair. "We entered from the back," I continued. "There's a woman... I think her name is Jean."

As we carried Alistair, I had the serious urge to drop him and leave him lying in the street. Then I remembered it was the Yeerk inside of him we hated, not Alistair himself. So we walked on, and, luckily, the sidewalks and roads were empty, except for the occasional passing car. Three people carrying an unconscious body would look awfully suspicious.

"Okay. I know where that is. Take a left here, and we'll be able to make a fairly constant bee-line for the back."

We shuffled forward, finally making some ground.
Ten minutes later, we were at the back door, and I was pounding my fist on it.
The door silently swung open.

I entered the room, carefully carrying Alistair. We moved him to an empty room, then I sat down on the couch. "So... I believe now is the time where we actually get to know each other. Anyone want to start? Care to talk about what happened after you left, Leah?" I asked, realizing that this is a touchy subject, but wanting to make conversation easier. I leant back in the chair, honestly curious.

(Guys, I'm gonna' be gone 'til Monday evening, Central Time Zone. Family stuff. G'bye! Feel free too keep the plot going, and I'll catch up. Alistair can be a Yeerk or not a Yeerk, you're welcome to decide that for yourselves. :))

(All right. Have fun. :) )

"I don't entirely trust you, but, seeing as how you know about as much as I do about the first escape, and I can't remember the second, I might as well. After I made my first escape, I met up with a boy named Aaron. He taught me everything I would need to know about the city, but refused to speak of Yeerks, morphing, or, well, anything of that sort. After they found me again, they killed him. Simple as that.

Second escape? You haven't missed anything. Now, would you mind explaining to us who you are?"

I sighed. "I'm... I was brought to America when I was 7... I grew up without a dad, from the age of 12, Mum's in hospital, and I'm going for my teaching degree in the field of art history. Not really much else. I was infested about 5 years ago... there was a seminar thing at the college, it was the Yeerks posing as a legitimate organization."

I nodded. His story seemed probable. At least he hadn't gone with a six hour story explaining everything that had happened to him from the moment he was born to the moment we met. When I thought about it, his life seemed simple, almost boring. Edward had no useful information to share whatsoever. He still might be a Yeerk. If he is, he probably plans to strike at night while everyone's alseep, I thought silently to myself.

"So," I continued. "What do you know of the Yeerks' plans? Anything at all?"
