I read on Hirac Delest, on the page for Animorphs 53: the Answer, that K.A. Applegate meant for there to be a Taxxon Chronicles book. I also think there was initially going to be a fifth Megamorphs book, but I'm not really sure. Regardless, I'm curious as to what a Taxxon Chronicles or Megamorphs five would have been about. We can assume from 53: the Answer that the former would have been about Arbron and the Taxxon resistance; which seems to be the subject in some of the fan fiction that I've read. But who knows? Maybe it could have been like the Hork-Bajir chronicles, discussing the origins of the Yeerk invasion of earth.

But this thread isn't just for discussing the nature of these two books. What other Chronicles books would you like to have seen? What do you think the subject of a Megamorphs 5 or 6 would have been like? Another time travel/alternate reality adventure?

I personally would have enjoyed seeing an official Yeerk Chronicles book. The Hork-Bajir chronicles does a pretty good job of depicting the early days of the Empire, and elaborates on the whole "Seerow's Kindness" debacle. But I would have loved to have seen a Yeerk Chronicles outlining the uprising on the Yeerk homeworld; maybe split into two or three narratives, like in the Hork-Bajir Chronicles. Maybe between Akdor 1154*, Seerow, and another third party. The first time I picked up Visser, I expected something like that.**

To be honest, I haven't thought much on Megamorphs Five. One could argue that the Beginning was essentially a Megamorphs book, what with the split narrative between the Animorphs. I would think a Megamorphs 5 would have to take place before the Beginning, for the sake of having Rachel in the narrative, if only because I don't know how well recieved a Megamorphs book with just Jake, Tobias, Cassie, Marco, and Ax would be.

As for Animorphs 55 and its sequels, we have plenty of Fan fiction for that. Still, I'm curious as to how RAFians would have handled the books, had they been in charge. What would you call it? How would you start? Would you bring back Rachel and the Animorphs, or start from scratch?

Here's what I would have liked to see, in a perfect world where Animorphs continued for a few books:

     1) The Yeerk Chronicles: outlining the beginnings of the Yeerk Empire.

     2) The Taxxon Chronicles: either discussing the Taxxon resistance, or Taxxon back story.

3)The Helmacron Chronicles: yea, I dislike them, too. But let's face it; we'd all like to know how they got so small.

     4) Drode: Need I explain?
4.1.)Crayak: I've lately pictured this book starting off with the Ellimist and Crayak watching the events of the
Animorphs unfold, and the Ellimist just asking, out of the blue, "What were you before all of this?!"

     5) The Pemalite Chronicles: There's a fan fiction about this. From what I remember, it was pretty good. Not how I would have gone about it, personally.

6)The Chee Chronicles: Oh man, this would be good. So many jokes about the Chee being the origins of so many human things. Narrated by Erek.

As you can see, I'm a fan of the Chronicles books. But, please, contribute your own ideas.

*Akdor 1154 was the leader of the Yeerk uprising against the Andalites, according to Wiki.
**But the origins of the Yeerk Invasion was a good story, too.

I would love to see a Megamorphs five. I think it would have to be just a different situation that they had to go through (like MM one) that was unbelievably difficult or something similar to that. It seems that there have been to many AU/alternate timeline MM. Just a thought

Haha. Honestly, the one that I'd be most interested in would be the Taxxon Chronicles, if only because I want to get to know the Taxxons better. There are never any actual Taxxon character in the series, so I'd like to know- are they even genuinely sentient? Do they retain their "hive mind?" Is there anything to them aside from that all-consuming hunger?

I'm in the "Chronicles are awesome" bandwagon here. Any more history or background I could get on the whole Animorphs universe would be amazing. Like, yeah, Pemalites. They were supposedly cool, right? And what's the deal with these Skrit Na things? Have they just... like, always been there? Kelbrid? What the heck's a Kelbrid?

I think the Taxxon are sentient. If I remember correctly, they're capable of speech (Gallard, I think?) and the Yeerks are able to infest them. The ones on Earth may not be subject to the hive mind, though. I haven't thought much about it.

What I'd like to know is whether Taxxons have names.

Oh! Got one.

The Time Matrix. Like... what's up with that? Who built it? Where did it come from? Like, what's its deal?

I would like to see the Skrit Na Chronicles.
Yeah, I know they are pretty generic aliens, but they could become really fascinating with some creativity. For example, what is the reason behind them stealing and collecting things from all over the universe? And why (apparently) didn't they change much since Ellimist's early days? Some time ago, I toyed with the idea that they were somehow linked to the Time Matrix (after all, they did find it in the Andalite Chronicles). Also, I remember I read some fanfiction about the Skrit Na, it made a good job on describing the feelings, but there wasn't much of a plot, unfortunately.

As for the Megamorphs, I never cared much for them, and I have yet to find a book/film/whatever in which the time-travel isn't all messed up. I mean, whenever I try to think logically about it, my brain goes dead.

The same goes for any post-54 sequels. Every single fanfiction I've read that claimed to be Animorphs 55 failed. Of course, I tried to think how I would write it... and the problem is, I have no idea. :(

all you need is The ONE Chronicle haha

I would love to know more about the One. My idea of him is that he is not as powerful as Crayak or Ellimist, but that he's some sorta mercenary character aligned with the Kelbrids that possesses more than a handful of tricks up his sleeves. And also that while he's working for the Kelbrids his true loyalties are unknown. He's an enigma, a mystery, an anomaly operating outside Crayak and Ellimist's influence somehow.

The other thing would have been the Animorph's Bible haha

A book on the Time Matrix would be good, I think. For example, why did the Ellimist create a machine that can do what he (they?) can do already. How did the Skrit Na come across it? And what happened to it after the war? Maybe it could be linked to the One.

A book on the One would be even better, just to give us a proper ending to the series, like a Megamorphs book set after book 54. Even if it just gave the One's back story, that would be awesome. While I don't hate the ending as mush as some people, I do dislike the fact that this character, who is clearly important, is introduce a couple of pages before the end.

I would like to see the Animorphs arrange to introduce the Yeerks to their cousins, the Issook (The Attack), who had learned out to live in symbiosis with their hosts.

And why didn't Elfangor use it to go back in time to warn Seerow not to give the Yeerks spaceships?

In TAC, When Elfangor, Loren, and Visser 3 used the time matrix they created an a mini universe. When Loren and Elfangor escaped from this universe, Elfangor wanted nothing to do with the time matrix.
I know this isn't a story idea, but I'm surprised they never used lion on one of the covers.

I think I'd like to here more about the Pemalites & the Chee most of all. And Arbron's struggles on the Taxxon home world would be nice as well. Heck, I'd love an encyclopedia of galactic life forms, with entries detailing histories of the major races and species.

I know that's asking a lot.

I want a book about the Anati. They got pushed to the side of the series, but they caused part of the final arch.

Ooh I know! Megamorphs 5 could be something where the Animorphs get like lost in space or something and have to find their way across the galaxy to get back home to earth. I'm imagining all these scenes in intergalactic spaceports and alien filled cantinas... I guess that was kind of the plot of the end of the last book, but they could have easily have expanded on that. Instead all we got was Marco saying "We saw some cool things on strange planets."
