They did morph ants in one of the books, so I'd say that he definitely could be an ant.

they morphed ants before the Ellimist gave him the morphing power back, though.

Wikipedia has a really comprehensive list of all the morphs they acquired. Which morphs they acquired in what book, etc.

i wonder what would happen if they acquired the same morph twice, at different time periods.
would they be able to morph 'young' and 'old' jake, for example?

I've often wondered this, but only just remembered it... DO MORPHS AGE??

*deep breath*

that's been in my head for a while. I thought of it because, well never mind. Anyway, so does the DNA age? I only thought of it because I was wondering if Tobias's human self/morph was always going to be 13/14 (?) or if it aged like normal. And if their battle morphs went old n wrinkly :)

Animorphs: The first 10 were light, funny, still innocent. But slowly, it got darker, more moral, passionate and mature. And then it was messy, bloody. It was chaos. It was the end.

that has been asked many times. I forgot what the "official" answer we came up with was, but I thought morphs don't age unless you become a nothlit.

I always figured you "age" whenever you're in the morph, but when you're not it's kind of in stasis.

IDK!

You morph into whatever image you picture in your mind. So you could morph into a cub or an adult, even if it's the same tiger. And morphs do age, but the timer is set back whenever you demorph and remorph.

eesh, I don't like that explanation, because if it works with morphs it should work with the base form too...meaning Jake and company should be able to demorph into babies or old men. And Rachel complains that she can't even fix a bad hair cut, so I get the feeling that's not how it works.

They can't morph or demorph into things if they don't have the DNA for it, though. So they wouldn't be able to demorph into babies or old men.

Wait, if morphs age, doesn't that mean they dies after a while, I mean if the DNA becomes too old and then they have to acquire the tiger and the hawk again. (It can't age in two hours)

It resets when they demorph, and remorph with the same DNA.

Correct. It would age for the 2 hours you were in morph but would reset when you morphed it again. Only a nothlit would age properly.

And although Tobias never acquired an Ant, there is no reason why he couldn't.

if a morph just resetted to the age the DNA was acquired at, then wouldn't they all be 13 forever? I mean, why would it work with morphing but not DEmorphing? Aren't they just using their own DNA when they do that?

You can't have it both ways. It's got to be one or the other. I think morphs age when you're using them, nothlit or not.

Of course morphs age when you use them, they just reset when you demorph and remorph them. They aren't stuck at 13 forever because they will return to the age they were before they last morphed.
