Ossanlin raises an eyebrow at Terenia as Esreth takes control.  <Apparently her question was meant as rhetorical though if it was she did an unfortunate job of specifying.>  He turns his main eyes to Gene.  <You could say so.  I was responsible for retrieving Tamora, the original Tamora.  I also retrieved Terenia's original genome from notlitization.>

Simon moved the cart under the laser cannon so it could be lowered, and raised some grasping arms to hold it with. "Whenever you have it ready to detach, I'll get it onto the cart. I don't know what kind of weapon you have in mind, but it shouldn't need to be too powerful."

[Myitt]

Gene shakes his head, looking to Terenia.

"I'm sorry, but who's...Tamora?" he asks with a wince. "I'm really out of the loop, here."

[Terenia]

Esreth's smile becomes a little strained at the wave of sour emotion that hits her from Terenia.

"Tamora was Terenia's sister," she says in the most neutral voice she can muster. "She died here after a failed attempt to rescue her from the Empire. One led by Ossanlin, as he just pointed out."

Pressing Terenia's lips together tightly, she swivels her stool around and gestures to the bartender, suddenly feeling the need for something a bit stronger.

<Indeed.  I underestimated Tamora's rigid loyalty to the Empire.  I had assumed that once she was free of her Yeerk, she would have to depend upon her sister.  Such relationships usually have a way of healing the past.  I was wrong, though I was not the one who killed her.  Of course that makes me no less responsible for her death...I'm used to my decisions resulting in the deaths of others.  I try to avoid it, but war has a way of taking life.>  Ossanlin's tone remains neutral, though he can't completely suppress the bitter pang that accompanies thoughts of the people who had died because of his orders.

<Terenia herself killed Tamora, though I did not expect that to happen.  I buried her body near the lake here and performed the death ritual myself.>  Ossanlin drinks from the bowl at his hoof, pausing before continuing.  <I was attempting to rectify some of the wrongs that my species had perpetuated upon Terenia.  It was not an empty gesture, but Terenia always believed it was.  Given the way it turned out, I'm sure she still believes that I did it only to hurt her.  She seems incapable of believing anything else.  I'm surprised she hasn't found a way to twist my reversion of her natural physical body into something malicious as well.>

Gene looks from Ossanlin to Terenia in quiet astonishment.

"****," he breathes. "Terenia, I didn't even know you had a sister. I...I'm sorry." Immediately his cheeks flush, which he turns away to try and hide.

[Terenia]

"I don't advertise it," Terenia says to Gene quietly, her expression becoming significantly more troubled as she resumes control. "Things didn't exactly end well with her." She accepts the glass of redin from the bartender, staring into it moodily for a moment before addressing Ossanlin.

"It's good to know you still hold such a high opinion of me, Ossanlin," she says with a wan smile. "But you're wrong. I don't think that what you did was empty. I do think it was wrong of you to involve yourself in my business in the first place, but I am glad that someone was able to put her to rest." She clears her throat, blinking away sudden tears. "I certainly wasn't in any fit state to do so. So I thank you for that, at least."

Ossanlin's expression softens, though he's not looking at either of the controllers.  <I suppose I haven't given you a fair chance...I tend to overlook the fact that an entire standard year has passed for you while it has only been  few days for me.  I understand that a supportive relationship does tend to change a person's outlook, though I'm rather surprised you've allowed Corliss to get that close, and I don't mean physically.>

He darts his main eyes at Terenian.  <So you no longer believe me to be the evil ruiner of lives?>

[Terenia]

Terenia laughs humorlessly. "Like I said, Ossanlin, I still don't think you had any right to take my issue with my sister upon yourself. But...no, I don't think you're an 'evil ruiner of lives'. I've had a lot of rotten luck in my life, but I've also made a lot of ****ty decisions. Killing Tammy was one of them." She sighs a little, sipping the redin and wincing a little as it burns her throat. "If I'm being honest, Ossanlin, as great as my time with Corliss has been, this past year hasn't been that easy on me. I don't have the energy to hold grudges anymore."

[Hunter]

'It's not going to be too powerful, so don't worry about that. I just need to source the firing circuits and the laser refraction crystals, to make a sort of hand held laser rifle' Once he had undone most of the mounting brackets, he said 'Be careful, it's a fairly fragile piece of machinery'

Undoing the final bolt, he helped Simon lower the cannon to the hover cart.

<I see.  I suppose some people are forced to open-mindedness merely to preserve sanity.>

[Terenia]

"If that's how you want to think of it," Terenia says with a morose shrug. "I would chalk it up to exhaustion more than open-mindedness. If you really want me to work myself into a fury about your presence I'm sure I could manage it, but I'd much rather just sit here and drink, if it's all the same to you."

[Darth Revan]

Parker raises an eyebrow at Terenia's new outlook. He says, "I'm glad you two have found common ground. I wouldn't want to have to jump between you guys again." His smile is again evident in his voice.

[Chad32]

"Alright. It's secure. There's some room for more if you need anything else. Do you already have tools to work, or will you need some of mine? It shouldn't be too hard to figure out what does what, even if the names are different. What other kind of things can you build?"

[Terenia]

"Hey, as long as he doesn't try to take over my life and solve my problems again, we'll be fine," Terenia says, sipping her redin again. It goes down easier this time. "I'm not sure you'd call that common ground, but whatever. I came here to relax, not pick a fight." She hesitates, then adds a little blandly, "And Esreth came here to make 'new and interesting friends', whatever that means."
