"I may have something on my ship. It has all kinds of nice stuff, including a little workshop. You could use that to tinker around." He would have offered a spare dracon beam, but perhaps giving Austin something to do for himself would help him feel comfortable in a strange place.

Parker quipped, "No; but Esrerh's relationship with him is public record." A smile is easily heard in his voice.

~Ossanlin~

<Not intentionally, I only heard bits and pieces as it were...but they were interesting bits and pieces considering the fact that you and your chronically antisocial pathology were involved.>  He shrugs, a human bodily expression he's become strangely accustomed to.  <It seems as though Esreth compliments you then.  Though I must say I'm rather surprised you became a host given your previous...experien ces, and your complaints about multiple voices in your head...>

"I'm not chronically antisocial," Terenia protests, scowling. "I just don't like people who try to screw with me. I have plenty of friends. Gene's my friend. Right, Gene?" She shoots him a glare, daring him to disagree, before continuing. "As for Esreth's presence, she is here because I wasn't a fan of zero voices in my head. Especially after...stuff. I had a rough couple of months. She's helping me out. Is that a problem?"

<<Touchy, touchy,>> Esreth murmurs, amused.

<Ah, the acerbity and paranoia...I was beginning to wonder...>  He shakes his head.  <That combination leads to an antisocial condition, your condition despite what you claim...and no wonder since you have each in spades.  But to address your query, it's your body, do whatever you wish with it.>  His tone remains neutral.

"What?" Gene asks blankly, looking up from his beer bottle, into which he had been staring, lost in thought.

He clears his throat. "Uh. I suppose I haven't exactly been the best conversationalist," he says with a sheepish smile. "I do that a lot."

With renewed interest, he peers at Ossanlin and says tentatively, "You seem to know Terenia pretty well. You guys go back farther than just the whole Efaen mess?"

Downing the rest of the drink in a couple gulps, Austin says to Simon 'Sounds like a plan then.'

Standing up, Austin motions for Simon to lead the way 'Oh, before we get to your ship, we need to stop by my fighter so I can quickly grab a couple things'

"Ok." Simon said. He got up and started walking towards the door. He kept an eye on Austin to make sure he didn't fall over. Though he didn't seem to have too much trouble walking to his seat. "What is your fighter like?"

'It's nothing too special, really.' Austin said as he caught up to Simon as fast as his injuries would allow him 'Basically, it's just a short-range fighter, but I got some modifications to the engines and fuel cells to enable long-distance space travel'

Pointing to a rather dodgy looking ship parked close to the bar, Austin said, proudly 'There she is. She may not look pretty, but well... she's had a good life. About time for retirement, I reckon. Especially considering that I've nowhere else to go.'

In the full light, the ship is covered in metal sheeting, similar to a patchwork job. The base colour was once Dark Goldenrod, but here and there, are dull grey patches of thick metal. Covering the nose of the ship, are distinct scorch marks of reentry, and mounted under the small wings which extend about three feet from either side of the ship (about 4 feet from the nose) are a couple small antimatter bombs and some repeating laser cannons, all rather deadly looking.

((for a basic idea for the fighter, think of a slightly modified F-14))

"Looks like a nice ship." Simon said. Simon and Jocun were used to being surrounded by much better looking ships, but of course a miner wasn;t going to have the same type of fighter as a trained war veteran. He walked up towards the ship, keeping pace with Austin. "If you need, I can carry what you're after. No need for you to do too much at one time."

'Thanks Simon. Sure, she's not as pretty as some of the other ships here, but back in the day, she was the best money could buy. I bought her for a bargain off one of my old military buddies. Weapon systems still intact, too!' he said rather proud of himself.

'Now, all I really need to get from her are the laser mechanisms, a couple of the crystals and their respective power packs. Have you got a hover trolley or something to cart the everything to the work area?'

Pressing a small, almost hidden button on the underside of the wing, the ****pit cover opens to allow access. Using the built-in handholds, Austin gingerly climbs up to the pilots seat and sits down. Reaching under the control panel, Austin pulls out a small wooden box, about 7 inches by 4 inches by 3 inches. Climbing down, he opens the box, revealing that it's full of cigars and a solid silver cigar cutter, with "Sylvia" engraved on it.

Removing a cigar for himself and offering one to Simon, he cuts the end off of one and lights it, taking a couple of puffs.

"Yeah, I've got something to haul stuff." Simon said as he checked out the interior of the ship. "Thanks, but I don't smoke." He said when offered the cigar. "I probably shouldn't drink either, but nobody's perfect."

He left the ship, and took off at a jog for his own to grab a hover cart. After a short while he came back and brought it into the ship.

OOC: let me know if I do something wrong plz

A small green reptilian creature opened the door. it's body was covered in small blades. It looked around, seeing some interesting creatures. It proceeded to sit away from them, to shy to actually talk to any of them.

'Alright then, while you're getting the hover cart, I'll get started on getting these laser cannons.' Austin said to Simon as he was running off to get the things.

Taking a couple more puffs on his cigar, he pulled out the little tool kit that he had stashed in a locked compartment on the outside of the ship, and went to work on loosening the bolts on the laser cannons.

Terenia's scowl deepens. "I will do whatever I wish with it, thank you very much," she says in almost a growl. She glances at Gene. "Yeah. A bit. We met here when I was still living in that damned Andalite's head."

With an impatient, internal sigh, Esreth slips back into control. "Sorry, guys. She's just not in the best mood. Must be so much time away from Corliss." She winks at Gene. "This is the longest we've been separated since the honeymoon. Kandrona forbid Terenia would admit that she's dependent on someone for her well-being, but she really is, you know."
