[Hunter]

Slowly putting himself in a sitting position on the ground, tail in full view behind him, he says to Jocun 'I wasn't attacked,' he pauses for a second to gather his thoughts on what happened 'I come from a mining planet, in the Sirius sector. We; the miners, have been hearing of catastrophic failure for quite some time now...' he takes a deep breath to suppress his emotions 'I was on Sub-Level 24 when I heard the explosions from deeper in the Crystal Mines, and on the surface of the planet.'

A single tear rolled down his cheek in memory of all his lost friends and family.

[Chad32]

"I'm sorry for your loss." Simon said.

<Careful. You might offend him.> Jocun said sarcastically.>

"That would explain why crystals were embedded in your body. I can't say why you're here, or how to get back, but I hope you can recover here and eventually find your way back." Simon said, ignoring Jocun's comment. May I ask what the crystals are mined for?" He picked up a crystal, cleaned it, and looked to see if it was any kind of recognizable mineral.

[Hunter]

'The crystals we mined are used for pretty much everything, in one way or another. That particular crystal shard, however; is extremely rare' Austin indicated to the bluey-red shard that Simon was holding

'That type of crystal is used in the manufacture of shipboard computer systems and weapons manufacture. These bright blue ones however, are used to make different compounds when combined with either Iron Ore or Deuterium in the science labs.'

[Chad32]

"Interesting stuff." Simon said, putting the shard down next to him. "You look mostly like a Human, with a few exceptions. Are you familiar with Humans?

[Hunter]

"I've come into contact with quite a few over the comms networks, but the ones I've met I can count on one hand." He said with a smile and a small chuckle

"How about giving this tired miner a helping hand up, 'eh?" Austin said, while extending his hand to Simon.

[Chad32]

Simon grabbed his hand and helped lift him up as gently as possible, allowing austin to lean on him if needed. He looked around, deciding where to take him. Esreth had gone to speak with Ossanlin, and while the guy wasn't hostile so far, he didn't want to sit Austin near him in case he took a Parker-like distaste for Jocun. "Let's get you to the bar and order you a drink." He said, pointing to a stool a little away from everyone.

[Hunter]

'Sounds like a plan.' Austin said as he quickly gathered up the crystals and was lead to the stool at the bar. 'So this Yeerk, is it like a symbiotic thing between you, or what?' he asked

[Chad32]

"Our relationship benefits us both, as he works as my employer. Though to be honest, a Yeerk can take practically full control of the host if it wants to. There was actually a war a century or so ago when the species called Andalites gave them a way to leave their planet without making sure they wouldn't decide to try to take over the whole galaxy. The Yeerks won the war, but over time factions of Yeerks decided it wasn't right to enslave people. They managed to get out from under the thumb of their government, and make a new Empire.

"In case you don't know what an Andalite is, there's one in the room. That blue mouthless herbivore over there. Weird thing is, the war is still going on for him. I don't know if we're from his furute or just an alternate dimension, but he's not overly happy with Jocun right now.  Their mistake was called Seerow's Kindness, and they traveled the galaxy to wipe out the Yeerks. Of course not everything is black and white. There are good Yeerks and bad Andalites."

"By the way, Jocun is a politicion, in case you were wondering."

[Hunter]

Glancing over his shoulder to what Simon indicated was the Andalite, he quickly looked back. 'Andalite, huh? Can't say that species rings any bells, truth be told.'

In response to the last statement, Austin merely waved it away saying 'Eh, politics never interested me really, to tell ya the honest truth. And to be completely honest, this is just a bit overwhelming, what with seeing a lot of alien species for the first time' he paused for a second 'I think I need a drink.'

[Chad32]

"Bartender, get this man a stiff one please. Clean glass." Simon said, handing over some money. The bartender took the money, then fixed a drink and put it in front of Austin. "Thank you."

"Well, just take your time. It's a weird place, and there can be a lot to take in. As for Jocun's job, it can be boring and hectic at times. We need politicians, though, as long as they don't start getting self centered. Jocun's one of the good one, though we've seen some bad ones."

~Ossanlin~

Ossanlin shrugs.  <You mentioned "small-talk" which humans generally use to refer to unnecessary or erroneous conversation which serves little or no point.  I can think of nothing more erroneous than nonsense...>  He raises an eyebrow as Terenia takes control, and glances his main eyes at Gene before returning them to Esreth.

[Terenia]

"Esreth has a thing for nonsense," Terenia says blandly. "And for making friends I'd rather not have anything to do with. I suppose I can't be too angry with you, though. You did restore my body, after all. And get that Andalite dapsen off our base." She attempts a smile -- one that appears far more forced than anything Esreth produces. "How have you been, Ossanlin?"

~Ossanlin~

Ossanlin raises an eyebrow at the slightly disturbing, partially rictus smile that Terenia forces onto her face.  <An interesting question I suppose.  My memory is still somewhat obscured as I never left and in fact did not pass more than a few standard days in the time it took you all to pass more than a standard year.  I have the distinct feeling that I have been in two places at once, which is both disturbing and intriguing.  I suppose I am as well as can be expected.  You are apparently doing well what with your...pleasurable. ..encounters with Corliss.>  Ossanlin attempts a smile of his own.  <An interesting conversation you had with that bounty hunter.>

[Terenia]

Terenia's cheeks pinken. "You were eavesdropping?" she squeaks. Then her eyes narrow. "I did not have any conversation with that turelek. That was Esreth and her absolutely infuriating need to share personal inforation with everyone." She folds her arms across her chest, glaring at Ossanlin. "My relationship with Corliss is none of your business."

[Hunter]

'Thanks Simon, I owe ya one. Not only for the drink, but for saving my life just then, too' Austin gladly took the drink and had a mouthful of what he could guess was rather old scotch.

Picking up the weapons grade crystal, Austin started thinking about what Simon said to him just before about needing a weapon. 'Ya know, if someone could get me access to a fully equipped workbench, I could make myself one hell of a weapon by scavenging some parts from my ship; not that I am able to get back to my home planet anyway' he said to Simon
