~Ossanlin~

Ossanlin nods his head once noncomittally at Efaen's comment regarding Prince Seerow.  Yes the male had been careless in his endeavors, but he was not the demon the Electorate and beuracracy had made him out to be.  He had merely done what he thought proper and beneficial for his people.  If Ossanlin holds any anger for Seerow, it is not for the Yeerk menace, it is for his carelessness in the line of duty.

He glances at Efaen, allowing his mild surprise to break through the normalcy of his expression at her words of gratitude.  Thanks, but no trust.  Even so, he'd thought she would be incapable of even that much.  <You are welcome, Efaen.  I cannot stand idly by whilst involuntary hosts are made to dance like puppets, especially if those hosts belong to my race.  Even if I put my personal feelings aside, duty is a mountain upon my shoulders where an Imperial in control of a morph-capable host is concerned.  It was not possible for you to remain in the hads of the Empire.  I am glad that I did not have to resort to drastic measures to be sure that such a thing did not occur.>  Ossanlin smiles just a tad, and genuinely at that.

<<Uh huh, she took it well,>> Illim remarks with an internal smirk. <<Maybe you just need a bit more to drink. I know this isn't exactly the safest place to loosen up, but I'll keep you safe. And Mike too, I'm sure.>>

Serid frowns, watching Simon skeptically. "You are telling me that your ideals include the choice of freedom for all beings? And you voice your opinion before your fellow Imperial Yeerks?" His eyes narrow. "Did you echo this during the war? Now it may be an unpopular belief, but then it was treason. And I am sure the Rebels, in your timeline, paid dearly for it."

Derrel continued with his drink, not looking at Keshin directly, but keeping her in his peripheral vision.

"The war was a long time ago. I can't say what my position would be then, even if I had the same power. Back then, nice guys didn't make it to the rank of Visser One. Vissers wouldn't think to go against the Council as we might. They had a tight control over the populous, and the people were too afraid of Kandrona starvation or the Andalites to start a large civil war. The closest they got was the rebels you are familiar with. If the Council tried some of the crap now that they did then, they'd find themselves kicked out of office. Sure they have power, but not near absolute control." Simon said.

"Before they beat the Andalites, they were too afraid to really revolt because the enemy would just mop up the mess. Once they beat the Andalites, and all of the Council's most loyal Yeerks were dead, that's when the people became unafraid. They voiced their opinions louder than ever, and the Council was forced to listen. If the Andalites win, the Yeerks will be killed off. I know this because the Andalites are fond of using quantum viruses on species they have issues with. The Hork-Bajir and the Humans being the two most historic events. If the Council does defeat the rebels in this timeline, there may not be enough people left to oppose them in the aftermath."

<<Tetris?>> Corliss replies, the syllables sounding foreign to his ultrasonic squeaks.  <<Tet...ah, the game with the coloured blocks.  Yes, Mike used to play it.>>

He slides his palps into the corresponding inserts at the metal computer terminal, and instantly his mind is connected to dozens of interactive "images".  Not nearly as detailed or colorful as true sight, but compared to the pool it was bliss.

<<Game on,>> he says, his voice echoing within the pool and the computer terminal simultaneously.

Mike gives Keshin and Joanne a fishy glare.  "What's happening with Terenia and the rebellion is none of your bloody business, thanks very much," he replies calmly, sipping his beer.  "You'll get your payment, that's all you need worry about."

Zorish nods as his suspicions are confirmed. He has not heard of any of the places Garreth mentioned, a fact that brings up all sorts of interesting possibilities.

<<It may be worthwhile to put off our nap a little longer,>> Zorish murmurs internally. He can feel Tamora's body fighting the effects of the alcohol, but the water seems to be helping.

"My kind are called Yeerks," he says. "We are, as you have already guessed, a parasitic species. My name is Zorish Three-Two-Five of the Sulp Niar Pool. I am Sub-Visser Twenty-Eight of the Yeerk Empire." He watches Garreth's face closely for any flicker of recognition as he rattles off his name and designation.

<As am I,> Efaen says sincerely. <I hold no love for Terenia, but I have been forced to witness her in the throes of Kandrona starvation many times. It is not an experience I wish to ever repeat.> She falls into silence, striding slightly behind her Prince as they make their way back towards the ship yard.

Terenia follows suit, connecting her own palps to the computer system. It takes her a few confused seconds to adjust to the false impressions that the computer uses to replicate vision, but she gets the hang of it quickly enough.

<<I never had access to any computer systems on the Blade Ship,>> she comments mildly as she logs into the game.

Sunion, appeared next to some building he did not know, the instruments on ship weren't making any sense to him. They were saying that he was still in space going at the speed of light, headed towards his home planet, Swatsna.  He wasnt really sure what to make of it all. He tried to start his engines and take off but it was to no avail. He did what came almost naturally at this point in his life, he grabbed hold of his sword and opened the hatch to his ship. As a Satiges he knew that his body would adapt to this unknown environment, as it always did. Standing at 5'9 he was one of the shortest people on his planet but that had only pushed him that much more to become the best he could be. He walked into the unknown building taking in the sights of the unknown species. He sat at an empty table his sword now on his back, his lower two arms crossed across his shirtless chest, the muscles and scars of battle clearly defined against the dark leather tone of his skin.

~Ossanlin~

Ossanlin nods benignly, not bringing to light the fact that he would've destroyed Efaen herself if necessary before allowing the Imperials to have her back in any form.

<Is there anyone you would like to make contact with before you are deployed?  Generally Warriors are no allowed such priveleges while on active duty as I'm certain you remember, but it has been quite some time since you've had such an opportunity.  I can dedicate a portion of the Tyrennian's long-range transponder bandwidth if necessary.>

He continues walking toward the shipyard and emerges from the treeline, glancing again at the bar.  He orients upon the Skimmer and continues trotting at a leisurely if purposeful pace in its direction.

Garreth's eyes become concerned a moment, almost saddened. He asks, "Your name has a number designation; as well as your military rank? Does your species care so little about the individual; or are there just far too many of your kind to truly take time to develop such a novelty as a secondary name?"

Claxter arrived at the bar, and stood in the doorway looking in. He noticed Zorish was still here, as well as the other Imperial. Corliss was here, which caused him to lose all motivation to enter the room. He walked out, and his stalk eye caught Ossanlin and Efaen. He decided to start making his way over to them at a trot, wondering where they were headed. Certainly he'd want to be with them more than in the same room with two Imperials and Corliss.

"I think the Andalite Claxter is still peeved at you." Derrel said to Mike as he noticed Claxter enter, give Mike an angry look, then leave. "Should we be watching him?"

<I am certain that my family thinks I am deceased,> Efaen says with a small sigh. <Even if my military records are changed to indicate an active status, news will not reach them for some time. In fact, I think I would prefer it if they continued to think I had perished in battle. Should anything go awry, it is best that they do not have to mourn my death twice.>

<Besides,> she says after a pause. <they would not allow my father to receive a communication, vecol that he is. If he could even be located. And I have nothing of importance to say to my mother.>

"My kind give birth to hundreds at once," Zorish says with an air of haughtiness. "A numerical designation system is the most efficient method of identification. Zorish is my given name, Three-Two-Five indicates the order in which I was born. It is efficient. Surnames are a human concept."

Sunion walked up to the bar, and sat down. Looking at the bartender, he said <let me get your strongest drink and do you know anyone that would explain to me where I am.>

Ossanlin nods.  <As you wish.>  He pulls out his communicator and hails the Skimmer...it would be best to do this as quickly as possible.  Waiting outside for the hatch to open would  be inefficient.  Terenia would probably want at least a little time to prepare as well.  He regards his comm patiently waiting for a response, still trotting toward the squat, insectoid shape of the Skimmer.

Illim gives a little sigh of agitation, Derrel's own chest rising and falling with the exaggerated breath. <<So what's the story there?>> Illim asks Derrel, regarding Claxter. <<Don't think I know that particular blue fuzzy.>>

"Quantum virus?" Serid echoes, his eyebrows drawing lower. "When did this occur?"

If the Empire had grown strong enough to defeat the Andalites... that was unthinkable and disturbing. And, in the back of his mind, it made him wonder if he had made the right decision to leave Illim just before he found his way to the rebellion.

But Ertoran, he reminds himself, flaring with muted anger. You would never have joined anyway, due to her presence. Do not second-guess your decision. This Yeerk's history has no bearing on my present.

<<That guy that got all ticked off when Corliss shot Efaen for no reason. We were there.>> Derrel said. <<The only reason he didn't get into an all out fight with Corliss is because the one in charge stopped him. I wonder if there's anything else Corliss did to tick him off, or was it just that one thing?>>

"It happened not long after Earth was secured. Yeerk forces began consolidating there, and the Andalits released a virus to kill them all. All it really did was slow them down a bit, much like with the Hork-Bajir Homeworld. Too little too late, of course."

Claxter got closer to Ossanlin and Efaen, and noticed they were heading towards the shipyard. He moved in a direction where they would meet each other as they approached, instead of just walking straight towards them. <Hello! May I join you?> He said as he got closer.

Garreth's head raised, satisfied by the answer given. However his eyes narrowed in a sort of confusion after she said that surnames were a "Human concept". He shook his head saying, "Though surnames may be 'alien' to your species; I'm more than certain that they do not originate with Humans. Many of the species in my galaxy had surnames long before Humans even came upon them. Many species' surnames identified from which tribe they came, others signified their profession. In my galaxy, there are thousands of planets and each planet has over one hundred thousand citizens. They all have surnames.

"So how did a planet full of sapient parasites find their way into space? Does your planet have indigenous hosts that allowed you to construct or technology?"
