Terenia doesn't respond to Corliss immediately. She has no response; in truth, she has barely considered his feelings at all. It is a strange notion for her, and she squirms her Yeerk body in discomfort as she mulls it over. What does it matter? His feelings, his desires...they aren't important to you. They aren't going to help you survive. Yet, for some reason, it did matter, and that fact left her temporarily at a loss.

<<Do you think Ossanlin's little magic trick will work?>> she asks at last, changing the topic.

Zorish pushes the door to the bar back open and surveys the room, looking for Efaen or her comrades. His expression falls in disappointment when he realizes that the bar itself is devoid of Andalites. Resigned to searching the woods and beyond he begins to let the door fall closed again when a familiar face catches his eye. Catching the door with one hand he steps over the threshold and crosses the room, a small smile on his face.

"Corliss again, I presume?" Zorish asks, approaching Mike from behind. His right hand rests comfortably next to his Dracon as he slides into the seat next to the dark-haired man. "Unless my host's long-lost sister who somehow magically became a Yeerk is still inhabiting that pretty head?"

He waves the bartender over and orders a scotch, smirking at Mike as he awaits an answer.

Derrel noticed Zorish come in, almost leave, then turn back and approach Mike. He let his hand drift to the weapon under the table, but otherwise looked nonchalant. If Zorish tried anything, his friend might need back up. Not that Derrel was a great shot. He tended to stay away from guns because guns often drew unwanted attention.

<<Look at you getting protective of his new friends,>> Illim remarks to his host with amusement, watching Zorish and Mike through Derrel's eyes. <<That's good, I suppose; the rebellion will appreciate that quality.>>

In response to his earlier question, he answers, <<It's impossible to tell. Yeerks are particularly good at passing for others. But who knows, maybe Corliss does a fancy ear wiggle or something upon command. I'll have to ask him. Or maybe implement it, myself,>> he says, his grin reflecting on Derrel's face a moment before he releases control over the human's expression again.

Serid looks between the two Andalites a moment before speaking. "My apologies if I interrupted your conversation, my Prince," he bobs his head.

When he talks again, he does so through private thought-speech. <<I spoke with Jocun, an Imperial Yeerk from a future timeline. Perhaps you remember him from the dining establishment. It is as of yet undetermined whether he is from our own timeline or a separate one.>> He clasps his hands in front of him. <<Regardless,>> Serid continues, <<he has offered to assist the rebellion with supplies. As you have been in recent contact with the rebel leader, War Prince, I thought it prudent to confer with you before offering the Yeerk any information or direction.>>

Ewa pulled out a chair to sit across from Keshin and Michael.  She pursed her lips, briefly, when it left a sticky residue on her hand and surreptitiously wiped it on her pants once she was seated.

"It's almost always useful to have a distinctive name," she answered Keshin.  "What is your profession?  I had the impression that most of the Andalites and Yeerks here were affiliated with some kind of military or fighting group."  Ewa looked at her battered armor/jumpsuit.  "I'm going to guess 'not military' for you," she stated with a small smile.

She considered Michael's predicament for a quiet moment, tilting her head and biting the inside corner of her mouth.  "Hmm... I can't say I've met anyone like you're looking for.  Maybe Al.  He may have had something to do with cybernetics."  And he might be in a position to actually benefit from schematics.  I'm certainly not.  She scanned the bar again.  "He's not here right now, but he's wearing a tux, so he'd be easy to spot."  Returning her gaze to Michael, she brought up one elbow to rest on the table and idly tapped her fingers.  "Did you volunteer for this implant that other people can use to kill you with?"  More to the point, is it real, or just part of your character?  It could be real.  Here.

Ewa glanced up when the Reptillinod Catie had pointed out earlier approached the table.
Quote
"Excuse me. I believe we've met.", he directed to both of them.
She raised her eyebrows and looked him up and down.  "I think I would have remembered that."  A smirk tugged at the corner of her mouth.  Her eyes tracked over to Catie expectantly.

<<I really don't know, Terenia,>> Corliss replies with a sigh.  <<His abilities, whatever they are, they're...unlike anything I'm familiar with.>>  He pauses.  <<I do hope it works.>>

Mike looks up at Zorish in surprise, paying the bartender for his lukewarm pint of ale.  In spite of his wariness at the Imperial's nosy attitude, he smiles at the drink.

"Nah," he replies, taking a sip and erring on the side of honesty.  "There's no one in me 'ead but me, for once.  The name's Mike Leicester.  I know who you are, dead girl, there's no need for niceties."

Candice had noticed his tail with the blade on the end, but only let it flicker for a moment before smiling once more. He wasn't a threat yet, so for now she would play her part as if he weren't a threat to her. When he complemented her voice her smile faltered, for she knew it was just a trick she couldn't control that only worked on men. She gazed into the crystal clear water, her expression growing mournful knowing that the happy moment was now a thing of the past. Candice spoke softly trying to keep the pull out of her voice best she could so the tinkling bells were a faint windchime in the distance.

"My voice is only beautiful to men. Women hear me as I truly am. They are not blinded by me." She raised her ice blue gaze, tears making her eyes glisten. Candice spread her wings wide and flapped them creating a gust of wind strong enough to raise her from the water. She let herself hover about two feet above the water and spoke loud enough for him to hear over the wind her wings produced.

"Half of my blood is Siren, the other Harpy. I am dangerous to men, so my silence is demanded." She let him process for a moment why he felt a pull toward her then spoke again. "Now you should understand why people wish to control me and why you should want nothing more to do with me." She could no longer control her tears as they streamed down her cheeks silently making ripples in the water below her.

Claxter felt conflicted when she told him her voice had power over men. His feelings for her were fake. In a way it made sense. The feelings he felt just weren't natural when felt towards someone who wasn't an Andalite, right? <I suppose you shouldn't sing, then. At least, not where men can hear you.> He sounded sad, as his feelings stirred within him. Did he have the right to ask her not to talk? She didn't seem the type to abuse it, and it seemed she couldn't turn it off. He didn't want to hurt her feelings by leaving, but could he control himself if he stayed?

<<So do I,>> Terenia says, although she sounds conflicted rather than excited. <<I find it hard to trust the Andalite, though. He hasn't exactly brought a bucket full of sunshine along with him to this place.>>

She sighs internally, squirming her little Yeerk body further away from Corliss. <<What if I can't be human anymore?>> she muses, sounding depressed by the idea. <<What if I've spent so much time being an Andalite and a Yeerk that I've forgotten how?>>

"Dead girls can't be nice?" Zorish asks, chuckling as he takes a swig of scotch. A slight grimace crosses his host's features, a combined reaction from the alcohol and the fact that it is only Corliss' host that is present. Despite the fact that Corliss had been disagreeable during their last conversation, Zorish had a feeling that he was likely to get more information from the Yeerk. Besides, Zorish was hardly accustomed to speaking to free humans, aside from his own host.

<<Do the rebel traitors always allow their hosts to wander freely?>> he wonders internally. <<Even voluntaries aren't allowed outside of the pool room on the Blade Ship.>>

<<Maybe we should be,>> Tamora offers timidly. To this Zorish only laughs.

"Well, Mike Leicester, it's a pleasure," Zorish says the human name snidely, but otherwise his tone is pleasant enough as he hunches over his drink. He takes a second, slower sip, noting that he needs to be careful. His earlier drinks have still not entirely worked their way out of Tamora's system and he is beginning to feel a little light headed. "I was hoping to find the Andalite female here. The one who was so eager to help earlier in regards to Terenia. Any idea where she might be?"

Candice just nods, and doesn't bother to wipe away her tears. She hovers there, her wings flapping in the wind idly. She watches his expression, surprised to not hear him yell at her to get as far away from him as possible. He has yet to hit her, but she can't help but feel that this is the straw that breaks everyone. Fearing his anger she flies higher letting the breeze catch her sparkling silver white wavy hair and tousle it around while ruffling her white feathers. Candice ends up just out of his reach but still in full sight dripping water.

She fears what he will say and how he will take it if she speaks so she lets it hang in the air.

<I think you're a good person, Candice.> Claxter said, thinking she was wary of him and expecting some sort of violence. she had already said she expected to be punished before. <I don't think everything I feel for you is completely fake, because you are good and I enjoy speding time with good people. I have enjoyed meeting you, and hope that you will still enjoy yourself for as long as you're here. I also hope we can enjoy each other's company, if I can manage to keep my feelings under control.> He said, smiling.

Keshin grumbles, joining the group. Michael doesn't seem like a very good lead, but this woman called Ewa might be. "No, definitely not military. Myself and my host work alone, and are hunted at points by the Empire. We're not the two most well-known people in the galaxy, but we're not nobodies either. If you have illegal dealings, there's a pretty good chance you've heard of our working name."

<And we're tellin' the babe this why?>

<She's not Empire, and she's not a rebel. We need to find out what she is instead.>

<Oh, good. Let's run into death.>

Keshin puts a hand to Joanne's head and mutters, "....Look. We've had a bad time in this Bar. As long as you don't want to kill anyone with allies in this place, we're okay with you."
****************************************************************************************
Mar smirks and draws his hand under his chest, bowing in a rather mocking way. "Oh dear sir. No one who meets me trusts anything I say. It seems to come with my...unfortunate reputation among mortals. Quite odd really: I rarely lie either. The most I usually do is twist what I say to suit my ends. I have said nothing that is false to you."

Mar pauses, thinking over what the hunter has said momentarily. He then states with his arms folded behind him, "Mmm...how much does it usually cost to...hire a being like yourself, then? You haven't attacked me or the rebel "princess", though I'm curious as to what the trader could possibly have to hide. "

<<Myitt trusts Ossanlin, and I trust my brother, and he's the only chance we've got besides begging Andalite scientists for yet another technological miracle.>>  Corliss lowers his palps, considering.  <<As for forgetting your humanity, I've spent an awful lot of time being human,>> he supplies gently, <<but I've still never forgotten how to be who and what I am.>>

Mike shrugs.  "Haven't seen Efaen, nor do I particularly care to, to be honest," he replies, taking a swig of the dark beer.  He eyes Zorish curiously.  So strange, how precisely Tamora's features matched what he thought of as Terenia's.  He lingers perhaps a bit too long on her face and tears his gaze away, clearing his throat.  "I don't mean to disappoint you, but I really don't reckon you'll get much information on Terenia round here.  Least of all from me."

<<So what, I should trust Ossanlin because you trust your brother, who got me piss-ass drunk by the way, and who also happens to trust Captain Grass-eater?>> Terenia laughs incredulously. <<Is this how the rebellion always works?>>

She swishes her palps irritably, launching into a further rant before he can answer. <<Trust is kind of hard to come by in this war, in case you hadn't noticed. It isn't something I do easily, so tell me why I should trust you, let alone Myitt or Ossanlin.>>

Terenia decides not to mention the fact that she already does, remaining obstinate to the end.

"Right," Zorish nods, setting his drink down with deliberateness. "Because you have some sort of romantic fascination with her, right? At least, that's what the young Andalite warrior said." He tilts his head slightly, tossing Tamora's blonde hair over her shoulder and pouting her lips. "If you don't want to give me information about the Yeerk-girl, fair enough. I am sure I can wheedle it out of others here if I tried hard enough, but frankly, I am tired of the games that are played at this bar, and I am not yet ready to return to my duties." He smirks. "The life of a Sub-Visser isn't always quite as grand as one may think."

Lifting the glass of scotch to his lips again he pauses before taking a sip, eying Mike over the rim. "So if you won't tell me about Terenia, tell me about yourself, Michael Leicester. Or, better yet, tell me about the traitor that you so easily accept into your mind." He inches Tamora's body imperceptably closer to him.

Candice smiles faintly, a small glimmer of joy twinkling in the corner of her eyes. She is extremely surprised that he is so kind to her after having not told him that she had siren blood for so long. Though, she blushes a faint tint of pink as he brings up his feelings toward her. After all the men she had seen drool or just become enraged. Candice had never seen a man be effected to the heart, instead of the groin.  It made her ponder what made him different from the other men. Does his kindness making him more vulnerable so my voice cuts to the heart, or is it just his species? She couldn't let it just rest in her mind, she questioned him in a cautious voice.

"You 'feel' for me? You don't just desire me? No one has ever felt anything for me except a desire to claim me." She eyed Claxter with a confused expression, making her seem more innocent.

<Well I'm sure I have higher moral fiber than the men you are used to. Also we are two very different individuals, and I already have a certain affection for a girl of my species, so it will likely take a bit more than your voice to make me want to 'claim' you.> He said. <I have never heard of an Andalite falling in love with a member of another species, though some Andalites have been known to go AWOL from time to time.>
