"There was duel or something out front. But it's over now." Jacob shook Treyliss' hand. "I'm Jacob."

"I see." Adam slowly pushes himself off the ground, reaching up to grip the bar with one hand as he pulls himself to his feet, nearly slipping on the straws. He leans down to right his bar stool, wincing. "Must've been some fight. I apparently slept through it."

Efaen regards the android-Andalite cooly. <While your help is appreciated, how do I know that what you injected him with will not make him worse? Does Prince Ossanlin look as though he is in good health right now?> She gestures to Ossanlin's body.

"Jacob," Trey nods. "Nice to meet you." He turns towards the new voice - one of the other patrons, who he seemed to remember seeing drooling over by one of the bar stools. "It was...bright," he says, in reference to the fight. This fact seems to confuse him, but he she shrugs. "I've been trying to avoid the fights, honestly."

"Yeah, that sounds like a good idea." Adam glances down at himself, still mostly covered in dirt and blood, though some of the dirt's wiped off. He runs a hand through his hair, scattering more. "I tried that, too. Didn't work so well."

He gestures at the bartender. "Glass of water?" He turns back to the other patrons. "Name's Adam, by the way. My usual other half's named Carris, though he's feeding at the moment." He pauses as the bartender sets a glass down in front of him. He eyes it dubiously. "Uh... can I get some clean water? Please?"

"Treyliss," Trey says again. "Though most people call me Trey. Your other half? So you're a Controller then, too, huh?" Trey shakes his head, still unable to entirely wrap his mind around the prevalence of natural Yeerks in this place. "What brings you to this lovely place?"

"Yeah, I am." Adam grimaces. "Ended up here because Carris was chasing a... friend of his. It's... complicated." He reaches for the new glass the bartender sets down, clean this time, but doesn't drink from it. "Long story short, things ended in a fight, and she... ah..." he gestures vaguely, looking more than a little uneasy. "You might've heard a gun shot awhile ago? I don't know how far that carried. It... yeah."

He stands there awkwardly for a moment, then sits down on his bar stool, suddenly absurdly weary, considering the little nap he just took.

Claxter came back with some supplies, and started bandaging up Ossanlin's wounds to stop what bleedng was still going on. <any changes since I left?>

Jagill had asked Mar a question, but it seemed he either didn't hear jagill or was ignoring him. He wasn't too bothered. The question wasn't really important. He just watched what was going on with mild curiosity.

~The Luxuriant Beryllian Battle-Class Ship Palkoris: Mid-Warp~

It was another terribly normal day for the space pirate, Van Aldbaran. He just dished out the paychecks of his hired crew, and they were probably happily somewhere back at the illegal spaceport Switcher's Bay, drinking their livers out and flirting unsuccessfully with girls. Van wished he could have girls with him aboard. Wished. But, he caught rumor about a suspicious trade deal going down amongst a few members of the Oligarchy, and was keen on checking it out. Anything that involved those political bigwigs trading money was always of interest to Van. Especially since Mar Le'saith was in on this deal.

Van mused about these goings-on contentedly and leaned back in his seat with a wide smile. The ship's computer was detecting no problems in the warp-stream, shields were operating at 80%, and the cabins aboard the ship were all stuffed with containers of illegal dosages of poorly-made Vivalite... Yes, this was certainly the good life. All it needed was women. Or if they so fancied, Van wouldn't have minded men, either. Oh, and Cassini owed him money.

...But, Van had three hours of perceived time to spare, until he warped out. Yawn. No big deal. Van stretched, and he yawned again.

"Gravitational shift anomaly detected, warp locked," stated the computer. Van jumped out of his reverie, nearly yanking out the nerve cords that attached him to the piloting controls, "WHAT?! Detect affected range of said anomaly!"

The computer's voice replied in a dead monotone, "Affected range of said anomaly is within 23 percen-3Sakflik-Uvuvuvu-... On'sanskr chu-nyah..Bzzt..."

Van wrinkled his nose and hit the malfunctioning machine, which did little to affect its rapidly deteriorating condition. "Waan sli vulk-nyah!" (You useless machine!) Throwing up his arms in exasperation, Van cursed again in his native tongue. "Zhevisht! Shadei-ku is waaaaay better at being useful than you, you pile o' junk-nyah. Great."

The space pirate stood straighter in his seat, and switched the controls back to Manual. A tingling sensation raced through his body as signals from the ship's neuro-link system began feeding information into his body again. His bright blue eyes widened, and all he could see were cascades of strange colors, and a black poisonous aura... "MAR-ZHEN?!"

An odd electric charge coursed through the ship and knocked the pirate out. Then, the spacecraft shuddered again as it warped and shifted into another plane, and back again to the physical world...

~Odd Plane~ ((Now on the same one as everyone else!))

Van's neuro-link was malfunctioning by the time he became conscious again. He opened his eyes blearily and saw... normal space. Fantastic. He fumbled at the controls to turn the engines on again, but the lever wouldn't move. The neuro-link was shot, and the ship was now beyond Van's control, as the controls only responded to both physical movements and mental signals.

Van cursed. There was nothing to do except wait and see where this ship would eventually end up. As if there weren't enough indicators that things were going very badly, the interior lighting had shut off, giving Van the bizarre impression that he was hurtling through the cosmos on his own. The only light came from what starlight there was in the galaxy.

"At least I'm still within galaxy," he mused, "Could've been worse; could have ended up outside of the place."

Suddenly, something caught his eye: a planetoid...? Out here?

Van's ship drifted towards the planetoid, as if drawn to it by a force. Gravitic science couldn't describe the phenomena, as a gravity well would have crushed the planetoid, or at least pushed it into a shape less recognizably... island-like.

Van stared out from the window in awe as he began to discern other features: grass, forest, a... building? None of these features made any sense, and Van began wondering if he was dreaming. The pull tugged harder onto Van's ship, and he had little time to contemplate anything more as the spacecraft swung port-side, hard. And it crashed up against the pathetic wooden building below.

The stone-like metallic sheen of the ship's body, and its brightly painted vine-form decals, clashed greatly against the rustic splitting wood of the wall as it was torn apart. Surprisingly, the momentum of the crash did little to the booths set up along the wall, except push them (and anyone sitting in them) down towards the entrance of the Bar.

Van wasn't belted inside, and he himself was thrown out from his ****pit. He flew through the air, and skid right down into the middle of the Bar, knocking drinks away before he slid off and onto the floor with a loud THUD.

"Oh," Trey pales slightly when he realizes that Adam was one of the people involved in the gunshot from earlier. "That was...wow. I'm...I'm sorry, man. I don't know what went on or anything, but it...yeah, it looked rough..." he trails off awkwardly, not really sure how else to react. He glances down at the bar, and is about to try again, but a sudden ripping noise pulls his attention. He barely has time to look up before one entire wall of the bar stretches and rips.

"****!" The obscenity flies from his mouth and he jumps back - an unnecessary movement as he is out of the way of the main impact. Regardless, he tries to put as much distance as possible between himself and the smoldering wreckage that is causing the ceiling rafters to lilt dangerously towards the ground.

<The android injected him with a material meant to stimulate his immune response,> Efaen informs Claxter, her main eyes watching his wounds carefully, monitoring the blood loss.

Efaen's concentration is broken by a new object in the sky. It has been some time since a ship crash landed, but the sight is no longer unfamiliar to Efaen. She watches with her stalk eyes as the ship hits the far side of the bar. Her immediate instinct is to rush to the wreckage and ensure it is not Andalite, but Ossanlin is still lying prone on the ground and he is her prince.

When Mar does not recoil from her touch, Elayne squeezes his shoulder lightly and kneels more comfortably beside him. "Maybe," she echoes with a sigh. "I'm just glad you're alright. I thought for a moment that you'd be gone, which is bad enough... but that if you saw me again, you wouldn't remember me, or would remember me as just some stupid girl." Her tone is quiet. "Which I feel like most of the time. I can't help you with anything important, Mar."

She bites her lip and is about to say more when the whistling of an fast-descending object interrupts her.

"Fine, fine," Illim says, raising his hands, palm-out, even though Terenia can't see the gesture. "I'm not in a hurry or anything. Just, you know, wondering."

As he unbuckles himself from the living metal and waits for the Skimmer to touch down, he notices something disturbing on the screen in front of Corliss. "Uh... incoming, man!"

Serid does not respond to Efaen, remaining quietly in the background while the multitudes approach the War Prince. His attention, however, is drawn by the crash landing of something behind the building. He flinches at the concussion of sound, but does not move.

Adam barely hears Trey's response before something rips through the wall. He jumps off his bar stool, able to keep his footing this time. "****!" he echoes Trey, stumbling backwards, knocking into the next stool. He moves out of the way, and backs up toward the other end of the bar counter. As he reaches it, he sees the guy who just came through the wall on the ground. Adam squats next to him. "Hey," he says, "Hey, buddy, are you okay?"

The crash certainly caused a stir. Then again, Van's ship was large- very large. At least it primarily, aside from that wall-raping scrape, missed the Bar. "Hey, buddy, are you okay?"

Van groaned in response. His long blond hair was a tangled mess of dust, shrapnel, and splinters, and he was covered in debris. He tried to suck in some air, but all the breathed in at first was sawdust, which caused him to cough violently.

His coughing fit quickly subsided, and the pirate pushed himself up with his slender arms. Now the world could see what he looked like. Van's face was human-like in appearance, with a perky, upturned nose, light skin, and an effeminate bone structure. He hardly looked like a man, and much less, one of 23 years of age. His eyes were a radiant blue, and his hair was long and blond, with purple tips. Both symbolized his half-human heritage, as blond was not among the hair colors found naturally among members of his race, nor were blue eyes a normal feature, either.

Half-human blood... Such an existence was the result of the Beryllians' attempt at perfecting their genetic compatibility with the indigenous peoples of any planet they hoped to assimilate into their empire. But that was a twisted era lost in the past and spat on by the so-called Human Rebellion, and overall, in this Bar it was rather... irrelevent.

Van glanced at the individual who spoke to him, and nodded, "Yeeanh, I'm fine."

His accent was thick and somewhat nasal, a product of his native tongue. At first, it probably sounded grating to those assembled at the Bar, but Van was used to odd looks. Noticing the splinters and wood chips on his clothing, Van began picking them off and chewing them up in his mouth. Yup, it was wood all right.

Adam moves back slightly, raising his eyebrows. "Yeah, you sure look fine." He glances across the bar at the general wreckage. "What happened?" He pushes himself erect, staring at the hole where the wall used to be. "You plow something into the building?"

"You aren't injured?" Trey asks, looking at the strange man with concern. "There's a med kit around here...somewhere..." He looks around the destroyed bar with a sinking stomach. "Uh...not sure where, exactly." He coughs, glancing down at the floor as he notices that the man is eating wood chips.

Danielle sees the ship crash into the bar. Should she go? Stay and see how Ossanlin is? Go? Stay? Go. There are enough people here to take care of the situation, but the ship, and its passengers, are unknown. She walked into the bar and saw a person on the floor eating wood chips. This was certainly interesting....
