Al smiled at Keshin, "Whoa, whoa. Salem's the trader. I'm the epitome of fun." He rolled his eyes slightly to show that he didn't actually believe that. "Salem's got some nice stuff, but honestly, he mostly rides off of the novelty of his junk. He doesn't carry all that much that's particularly valuable, he just brings it all to universes where they don't have it."
He turned to Zorish, "Terenia's got quite a reputation for herself here, from what I understand. She does seem like a bit of a loose cannon. Girl needs a chill pill, if you ask me. Although..." his expression grew thoughtful, "if she really is your... host's sister, wouldn't that be cause for rejoicing? I could buy everyone a drink and crank some tunes to celebrate." His eyes lit up at the thought.
An Andalite approached the table, looking concerned, presumably about the woman he'd been with a moment before. He was followed soon after by the woman who'd been sitting at the table nearby for some time. He looked to both of them and said, "I'm not actually sure there's anything I can do for a headache without some medical supplies, aside from maybe advising that she get some water and some rest. Do you think there's any kind of real damage? I could run and grab something if you think she's really injured. I'm no doctor, but I could help a bit. Though..." he turned to Jade, "I've never seen medicine conflict with magic, but like I said, I'm no doctor. If there's a chance of it making her worse," he shrugged at the Andalite, "her best bet might just be a cool glass of water and... like, an aspirin, or whatever passes for aspirin in these ancient times. Unless aspirin's anti-magic?" With a cautious smile, he bowed his head slightly towards Claxter and held out his hand to Jade. To both of them, he said, "I'm Al, by the way. Don't believe we've met."
He smiled at Eshen, "Eshen 2249. Pleasure to meet you. I can't actually imagine what kind of... help you'd expect to find here, but it must be a very special kind of friend to deserve that." He paused before 'help' in mockery of her pause, but winked to show that he meant no harm by it. "As for the whole 'I'm a robot' bit... there's not as much of a story to it as you'd think." He laughed, and then, without even bothering to look for Rathien this time around, dropped the hologram over his face completely, revealing his grinning, doglike Chee face beneath it. "Basically, I'm just a robot." He brought his hologram back up and rolled his eyes, "No big, really."
Salem frowned. Silly for expecting me to grasp this? No way I'm giving up this easily, Highest.
Out loud, he said, "I'll get this. I can figure this out. If you want to show me how it's done, though, go for it."
As he spoke, he continued trying to get the tendrils to move. He stopped flailing his arms attempting to grab them- as with turning his head, the physical world seemed to have little or no bearing on what he was seeing, except that what he intended had some effect. He managed to pick out a single tendril, and caused it to change direction, whipping back the way it'd come. At least... he thought he'd caused to to change direction. With the damn things flailing every which-way, who could tell? It didn't help that his feeling for where they were was still pretty muddled... this was definitely not a sense like the ones he knew.
He tried to do as Mar had said- rather than looking at the strange, undulating shapes as unknown phenomena in the darkness, he tried to feel them as though they were part of himself. He took a deep breath and tried to steady himself and block out everything else. He tried to see if he could sense them... he almost could. From where the pain had shot through him, he could almost feel them. He could almost see when they would wave in front of his face. Not the limbs he was used to... but almost limbs... he tried to move one, tried to understand how to order it to move like a limb without any prior experience with said limb. He thought he felt it... one of them shuddered. It slowed, and he thought he could sense the others around it giving it a bit more space... though he wasn't sure what that meant...
