"I'm fine. Reli might need some though." She didn't look good.

Chris said he was fine, but Reyna's response consisted of sliding to the ground. Marty found another scrap item he could use as a cup and brought some water to Reyna. "Here, take this with you. Looks like you need it. Chris, we should go ahead and catch up with the others now... would you help her get there if she needs it? I'll be right behind you as soon as Reli is ready..."

Fisher nodded, not everyone was good with a shredder barbeque. He was more awake now and could fully grip what Reli privately confided with him. He nodded slightly, looking her in the main eyes. Then he turned and went to arm him and his companions. Strapping a shredder to his waist, the other did the same. Grabbing the home-made beam weapons as primary armaments, Fisher and Baxter took the pair of zappers as backup while Johan and Bed-David took the long knives.

Taking a long slug of water from their storage, Fisher and his team began made their way to Marty where the Corporal inquired about what was going on.

"So Marty, what is it exactly that is happening here?"
"Now I can't speak for everyone; at least not until 'The Device' is completed."

"Nothing to worry about really. Ehruf took us to who I assume was their leader, and we've been allowed to stay as guests 'with restrictions'. The others are heading that way where they have some food for us. And... we aren't sure about that cure for Jim and Kage yet...."

Reli nodded thanks to Fisher and Marty, quickly drawing up water from the 'dish'.  She took more this time than she had earlier, knowing that the need to ration was all but eliminated.

She stayed close to the group as they returned to where the food waited for them, hoping there would be something plant-based she could consume.

Reyna grunted a reply, taking the makeshift cup from Marty. It seemed to require great effort to lift the metal to her lips, but she managed to succeed after a small internal struggle. As soon as the cool wetness touched her tongue she seemed to regain a certain sense of clarity and guzzled the entire thing, relishing the sensation of a temporarily full stomach.

"Oh..." she said, wrapping one arm around her abdomen. Perhaps I drank that a little too fast... Her stomach woes were quickly interrupted, though, by a prickling sensation at the back of her neck. Instinctively, Reyna looked behind her but there was nothing there but the ship she was leaning against. Frowining, Reyna began to pull herself back to her feet.

"Need help?" Chris asked awkwardly. He didn't feel comfortable around girls.

Marty smiled as his friends took the water. It was easy to see that it helped them already. He stepped down the ramp, and after Fisher and his men were ready, he began heading back to the "yuk'kuk" that Ehruf had pointed them to.

"Thanks," Reyna said, smiling through her chapped lips. "I think I'm okay." She managed to pull herself back into a fully upright position before tilting the cup back a second time, determined to catch any stray drop that may have been left behind. When she was certain that the scrap metal was empty of water she lowered it, blushing a bit at her over-zealousness.

"Sorry...I guess I was pretty thirsty," she says. Pushing away from the hull of the ship, Reyna's eyes follow the direction of Marty. "S'pose we should follow him, hmm?"

"Sure." Chris started off that way, anxious to rejoin the group. Be soon caught up and took his place at the back of the group.

As the group began weaving between the huts, they were joined by someone else strolling the village; the young Pemalite that had approached Marty earlier. She walked along side of him for a little while, and then she began walking backwards while in front of him. Now facing him, she again held out her little malfunctioning gadget, pleading with her eyes. She said nothing. Finding it hard to walk with her in front of him, Marty stopped briefly.  He looked long and hard at the Pemalite girl. Then after taking the cluster of parts and pieces from her, he smiled, and so did she. She began following at his side again as the group continued towards lunch.

<Glad to see you decided to join us.> Ehruf said as the nine of them walked in. He made no comment on the girl entering as well. It was a bit crowded inside the structure now, but there was still enough room to enjoy the meal. Marty was glad himself to see that the others were all here and apparently waiting for them; he looked at Lee, waiting to follow his lead. Lee looked at Ehruf, who then said, <Sit> and then proceeded to do so himself. Ehruf and the other Pemalites joining them each in turn stuck their paws into the
basket of meat, picking up two or three pieces hooked on their short claws. None of them touched the other dishes yet.

After seeing the example of their hosts, Marty slowly reached out and picked up a couple pieces for himself. It seemed to have a taste somewhere between pork and beef.....

<Thank you for sharing your provisions.>
Reli scooped up a handful each of several grassy-looking clusters of vegetation and arranged them on the ground in a low, broad pile. She slowly, almost methodically, crushed them underhoof. They appeared to dissolve and disappear each time she stepped down.
Eventually a little scattered pile of pale, ashen stalks and a bit of dust remained, and Reli was visibly healthier from the meal. A gust of wind from outside guttered under the wall, then it shifted the pile until it was lost to the sands outside.

Reli delicately picked up what appeared to be a dark blue-violet fruit of some kind.  She made a thin cut in it with her tail-blade, examining and smelling the pale white interior.

<This plant appears to be a starch-bearing fruit, similar to the Earth potato or apple. It should provide sustaining energy to humans, and you can metabolize it.>

She offered the fruit to the nearest human.

"Thanks." Chris took the Fruit and took a bite. Once he was done he  selected a couple pieces of meat. He didn't really settle on how it tasted. He was too hungry.

Reyna meandered behind the group, seeming to draw further and further behind. At one point she stopped entirely and turns around abruptly, staring back the way she came with a scrutinizing look on her face. After a moment or two of staring she turned back around and continued on to the hut.

Upon entering the hut, Reyna's stomach shook itself from its reverie and growled loudly. Food! she thought happily, momentarily distracted from whatever had been bothering her. She took her place at one of the empty seats, watched everyone else for a moment, then dug in. Halfway through a bite of some alien meat she stopped again, food halting midway to her mouth, to look over her shoulder. I could've sworn...no, there's no one there.

Mesa, following the leads of the Pemalites, took some of the meat.  It couldn't be that different from fish...could it?  She tentatively took a bite.  It wasn't bad.  Dry, though.  She wasn't really picky, though.  Too hungry.  As she ate--one of the useful things about not speaking with her mouth--she said I have some questions, if that is alright. to the Pemalites.  She was still baffled as to why they thought that Andalites were vicious...and why they were still alive.
