I need to ask for some advice. Is there such a thing as being too specific with my char.? For example over specific about his appearence, where he sits in the bar etc.?

I would say probably. You don't need to describe every little facet of your character's surroundings.

If your character is just thinking to him- or herself, we usually just use italics. Does that answer your question?

It's up to you, dude. Personally, I would write it based on where my character is from. A human character would probably use a rather different scale of measurement than an Andalite character. *shrugs*

Yeah, for measurements, I know I've switched between English and metric quite a few times, and lately have gotten in the habit of trying to avoid specific measurements altogether, since my characters' measurement system wouldn't be something we recognize now.

Shawn, it might help you out a bit if you go back and read the past few pages. It'll give you a feel for our writing style and pacing and exactly what constitutes a solid post. And you'll have an idea of where everyone is when you introduce your character. Maybe just the last ten pages or so?

As long as you make up a reasonable reason for him being out of commission, I don't see why not.

ok ill remember to modify next time. Im not sure I can come up with a good reason tho because the thread kinda stopped in mid flight (literally) I was going through issues and couldnt post regularly and the person I was posting with (I think it was Genie) stopped posting all together. advice?

It would also be helpful for you, if you haven't done it already, to read through the first couple posts on this board and the IC board as they detail generic rules as well as our most-common symbology.

Easiest solution? Same character, different timeline. It's the easy way out. Just reintroduce him and pretend he was never there in the past.
