Re: the extruded mass getting put into a big sloshy blob-

Actually, in #18 The Decision, an accident causes the Anis' consciousnesses to be shunted to their extruded mass.  They don't end up as randomized, inside out blobs.  In fact, they find themselves in what sure looked like their normal bodies.  Everything was in the right place, including organs, bones, skin, and even their morphing outfits.  After they are picked up by a passing space ship, they don't have any problems thinking, talking, walking around, or even morphing.  The only complication is that whole "popping back into Z-space one by one" thing.

So there actually is some pretty solid canonical evidence that the extruded mass does not end up messed up and inside out.  I worked out a pretty detailed theory based on this a while back, but I don't think I need to repost it here.

As for the question of whether a yeerk could leave a morphed host-I don't think that exactly happens in the series, but something kind of like it happens in the Hork Bajir Chronicles.  When Aldrea refuses to demorph, Esplin comes up with the idea of infesting her and making her demorph, so he pops out of his host and crawls into her ear.  Esplin gets pulled out before he can try this, so we don't know if it would have actually worked.  Come to think of it, Esplin probably didn't know either.

And yeah, this is pretty confusing.  My head's starting to hurt a little too.

Controller-Jake morphs an ant in #6, and Visser 3 is seen morphing "something small" in #38. The controllers later in the series are frequently doing bird morphs, the skulls of which are probably smaller than the Yeerks themselves. There's no way for any of that to work unless the Yeerk is morphed with the host. I just wonder if it kind of happens naturally, or if the Yeerk has to make a conscious effort to affect that like the Animorphs do with their morphing outfits. My guess would be that a Yeerk could actually choose not to morph with the host, so Esplin's forcing Aldrea to demorph would have worked, in theory, assuming he'd survived the transformation of her brain.

I had a thought the other day that could explain away the most KASU of all.  You know, when Jake supposedly uses thought-speak while still human to talk to Tobias.

This can be explained pretty simply.  Maybe humans are beginning to evolve thought-speak.  A lot of creatures in the aniverse use thought-speak and some use a little mouth-speaking also.  I believe the Iskroot still made mouth-sounds and the helmacrons had an audible laugh.  So maybe in the aniverse, humans are just beginning to evolve this ability and sometimes things get through.  :D

Could be, but I don't think it's very likely. I think we would have heard of it again later in the series. Also, the Anis repeatedly state that thought-speak is impossible while not in morph. Nice theory thou, I never thought of that!

Maybe Tobias was just faking Jake out, guessed what he was trying to do, and pretended to hear him just to mess with his head.

That seems a bit OOC for Tobias. Sounds more like something Marco would do.

Its not THAT ooc for him, but the fact that it was never mentioned again, and in later books they just know they can't do it is what makes it a KASU.

Yeah, but that wasn't really an appropriate time. He was trying to show Jake that it was all real, Elfangor was right. I don't think he'd try to mess with Jake at that time.

I know there are a lot of KASU's out there. Lets list and comment on some of the best ones.
Here is the link to the KASU's. http://www.geocities.com/sbsa01/kasu.htm

Some of my favorites include:

51 Jake and Marco have friends since second grade but in 4 they were friends since in diapers.
Explanation Sometimes people still have accidents

26 Why does it matter that they yeerks will meet hte Iskoot in 300 years if they will have been defeated?
Explanation Have they been defeated?

The Invasion: Tobias gets clawed up by his cat while morphing his cat.  After morphing his cat and then demorphing, he still has a sliced finger the next day, which the morphing process should have fixed.
