Pick your land, air and seas morph
« on: July 24, 2008, 02:50:32 PM »
You can only pick one animal to morph of each from these environments

-Land: Siberian Tiger (though I would like to be a dog)
-Air: Peregrine Falcon (but a pigeon wouldn't be bad at all)
-Sea: Bottlenose Dolphin (tempted to say an orca instead)
This great evil - where's it come from?
How'd it steal into the world?
What seed, what root did it grow from?
Who's doing this?
Who's killing us, robbing us of life and light, mocking us with the sight of what we mighta known?
Does our ruin benefit the earth, aid the grass to grow and the sun to shine?  Is this darkness in you, too?  Have you passed through this night?

Land: Black Panther. Cats make good battle morphs, even though their endurance isn't the best. The black coat of the panther makes it a stealthier night hunter than other cats.

Air: Turkey buzzard. Buzzards are good at soaring, and the turkey buzzard is big. I don't know exactly how good buzzards are at distance flying, but since they're scavengers they must be good. I'm sure a buzzard is also better at fighting than a goose or duck.

Sea: Great white shark. There isn't much in the ocean that can take down one of the biggest sharks. Sharks are to top apex predators as well.

Air: Female Peregrine Falcon (cos it's bigger than the male Peregrine)
Land: Male Red Kangaroo (mainly cos it has really sharp claws, and it has really powerful legs, oh and it's the biggest 'roo in all of australia! also, cos it can cover long distances really quick)
Sea: Great White Shark.... muahahahahaha

Air morph: Andean Condor.
Land morph: Spotted Hyena.
Sea morph: Definitely a Dolphin.

Now, morphs that I would realistically have access to acquire, around me;
Air morph: Seagull or Sparrow. No wait! I always wanted to try being A Willy-Wag Tail. A type of tiny bird, black and white, that is very daring, fast and acrobatic here.
Land morph: A wide range of dogs. Would pick a big breed like a Doberman or a Great Dane.
Sea morph: A crab. No way I want to be my housemate's goldfish. It would be bad venture in the sea in that tiny morph.

Water: Great White Shark. So I can actually breathe under water as opposed to worrying about holding my breath.

Land: Wolf, for both strength and infiltration purposes.

Air: Ferruginous Hawk. The largest species of hawk in the US.

Land: Spotted hyena would be pretty cool.  Strong jaws, great endurance, amazing senses, and not too big to be stealthy.

Air: Turkey vulture.  They can be found from Canada to the southern most parts of South America.  And they are pretty cool too (as this comic thing demonstrates).

Water: Maybe a sawfish since they can function in both fresh and saltwater, they are pretty big, and THEY HAVE A SAW ON THEIR FACE!

Air: Golden Eagle, great and fast flyer and far less likely to be prey for something else.

Land: Wolf.  I always liked the way they described the experience of being wolves in the books.

Ocean: Killer whale.  Great speed and agility, can have fun much like being a dolphin, but without the risk of predation.

Air - Raven, Great Horned Owl, or white/grey Gyrfalcon, depending entirely on the location and times of day we'd be flying. Raven would definitely be the most practical of the lot: big and clawsome enough that nothing short of larger falcons want anything to do with them in the air, ordinary-looking enough to be inconspicuous at most temperate latitudes, at most times of day. Weather hardy, frequently seen both solitary and in groups, so not a giveaway if we fly solo. Soaring and woodland gliding capabilities, both, and just migratory enough to handle distances well.
If we're dealing entirely in night flight, the owl. If we're in cold latitudes with enough snow cover to keep us from being conspicuous, falcon.

Land - Least weasel (Mustela nivalis). Tiny, great for hiding, seasonal camouflage, and ten types of vicious when harassed. If by 'land' we mean 'combat', then Polar Bear.

Marine - Leopard Seal (if cold water). Otherwise, Shortfin Mako Shark. Fast, migratory, able to leap incredibly high from the water... and the whole 'has gills' thing is useful, too.
The universe is, instant by instant, re-created anew. There is, in truth, no Past, only a memory of the Past. Blink your eyes, and the world you see next did not exist when you closed them. The only appropriate state of the mind is surprise. The only appropriate state of the heart is joy. The sky you see now, you have never seen before. The perfect moment is now. Be glad of it.
