((Oh shoot.  :footeat:))

"Oh THAT coffee shop. The entire building knows that coffee shop. I would think that if she and some other people, possibly these other kids who we're with her at the coffee shop, we're actually talking strategy possibly. Do we have any ham radios? The animorphs? Did I say that? It must have been my host. He does that. (("How rude! I've never done that before in my life.")) "Anyways I need to leave. There's a Sharing meeting today and maybe we can get lucky." He bats a  ;) then leaves for the meeting.

"It looks like the coast is clear for now..." Sean said. "Y'all can probably demorph, since we need to wait for Kristen anyways." Sean fidgetted a little bit as he said the next part: "And um... you guys should probably watch me while I test out this squirrel morph.... I don't want to go crazy and bolt up a tree or something."

"Hi! Are you new here?" asked a girl at the snack bar. She was nice-looking, and Brain thought he remembered her from school.
"Not really; I just came for a visit, but I haven't joined." Brian really didn't intend to, either. He was busy enough with Boy Scouts to be getting involved with another youth club.
"Oh, you should!" she said, enthusiasm just radiating from her. "It's the greatest place ever. All of my best friends are here, and it's so good to just hang out around people who care to notice you." She held up her small plate of fruit and cookies. "And look, free food! What's not to like about it?" Brian was going to reply, but she continued. "Oh, how rude of me.... I'm Alex, and it's nice to meet you." He returned her handshake and responded.
"I'm Brian. It does look like a lot of fun here, but I'm already in Boy Scouts, so I''m pretty busy with that." Alex giggled.
"Aren't you a little old for Boy Scouts, though?" Brian shook his head.
"Nope. I'm actually an Eagle Scout, and I'm teaching merit badges and stuff now."
"Oh really? That's pretty neat! I was never in scouts or anything before the Sharing... what else do you do there?"
Alex and Brian sat at a table and chatted for a while casually. This ain't half bad, Brian thought. Not because he'd met a nice girl (though that wasn't necessarily a bad thing...), but because he was able to have an open conversation with someone he'd just met, and that was pretty neat.

Chad snickered. "Go on, I'm here." To himself, he thought how fun it would be to see what would happen. After all, this would be Sean's first morph.

<I'll stay in morph,> Olivia said.  <If you do go nuts you might trust another squirrel.  But I know someone that should demorph.>

Jo almost laughed herself silly at the squirrel crossing her arms and trying to look stern.  Squirrel were cute animals so it was almost impossible to look threatening.  <I'll demorph.>  As she concentrated on her humanself she was thankful that one thing that Olivia had bought worked as a  morphing suit.  Very short shorts and a blue tank top appeared where golden fur had been before.

Sean felt awkward shedding his outer layer of clothing. He didn't want to get tangled in them, and only the black outfit he'd bought at the resale shop was tight enough to morph with him. Thankfully it wasn't cold out. "This is going to be unpleasant in the winter, isn't it?" he said to the others. "Alright... here goes nothing."

Sean closed his eyes, squinted them even, and filled his mind's eye with the frantic squirrel they'd wrangled long enough to acquire. Jo had been the one to catch it in her dog morph, and it had put up a good chase. These critters were raw energy. He felt a tingling at the base of his spine. He turned to look and saw a large tail growing out of his rear. The fur seemed to just push itself right out of his body, and stretch into a thick, fuzzy squirrel tail. He started to shout out in surprise, but he didn't want to chicken out. The kids and Olivia had all already done it multiple times, and he couldn't be seen freaking out with his first morph. Instead of dwelling on how crazy it was to have a tail, Sean pictured the ways squirrels' tails moved with them, how they used them for balance, and even communicating some. His boned began making little creaking sounds as he shrunk down to less than a foot tall. His skin itched all over while fur sprouted and covered ever inch of his body. His face was changing, too. Sean suddenly had a slightly protruding muzzle of sorts, large teeth that felt too big for his face, and his ears slid up and on top of his head. He sat still after the morph was complete.

<Okay, I think I'm - > RUN! DANGER! RUNRUNRUNRUNRUNRUNR UNRUN!!!! The squirrel that was Sean bolted, bounding across the grass, away from the towering giants, and towards the nearest trees. HURRY! QUICK! CLIMB AWAY!!!!!

Chad had stood in front of Sean to help make it less oblivious. When he was done, however, he had no time to grab Squirrel Sean ((:P)). For he took off as fast as he could. Chad yanked Olivia from off the table and set her down. "Go after him!" He charged, but Sean was already in a tree. He waited for Olivia to do something.

Olivia scurried up the tree after Sean.  <Sean, get a grip on that morph.  See those kids down there.  They need you to be in control.>

Alpha arrived at the Sharing meeting. On the way there he changed clothes and messed up his hair and put on sunglasses. He looked nothing like himself. The limo was parked in the back and Joel comes out of it. He walks around not looking for anyone when a guy walks up to Joel and says: "Hello sir. Have you been here before?" Alpha looks at the man and whispers: "Alpha3462. Stay calm and act casual. I'm looking for a girl named Josefine and a few other kids." Then he says in a normal tone: "No. I've never been here. What is this place about? Is it like the boy scouts?" The man smiles and says: "No. This isn't like the boy scouts. We're more of a disersified boy scouts and we have something the boy scouts don't: Free food and beverages. Let me give you a tour. My names Fred. What's yours if I may ask?" "Wow. That's really convienant. My names Fred too. I think we might be friends already Fred." Joel offers a hand and Fred shakes it. They arrive at a grill that has hot dogs, fries, hamburgers and chicken. "Looks good. I'll have everything but the chicken." He then whispers to the girl: "There might be a girl named Josefine here with her friends. If you see some animals that shouldn't be here grab them." The lady shakes her head and gives Joel his food. "Got any pop?" The man leads Joel to a stand with pop and other drinks. Joel hands some food to Fred and tells this girl about Jo. He takes a Mountain Dew and goes to a bench and eats his food.

"Way to be sensitive," Olivia said.

Jazar called home from one of the pay phones in the Yeerk pool pay phones to find out that RACES volunteered to help look for Josefina's "kidnappers."
<I wonder how many of the can be infested,> Merlin mused.
<What do you mean?> Jazar asked.
<Imagine being in the first city with two front clubs,> Merlin said.  <Especially one that would be relied upon in an emergency.  Being a part of that and the what benifits that it may bring.>

Another Squirrel. Is it following me. Is it gonna fight? Should I run? I think I should run. Are those giants still there? Yep, still there. What about that squirrel? Are you friendly? I like these branches. Those giants are moving. They're coming closer! Climb away! Okay. I'm safe now. I -

<Whoa.> Sean stopped climbing. He sat still for a for a full twenty seconds, which must have been a record for a squirrel. He was back in control now. <That was weird, and kind of exciting. Look how high I am! This squirrel sure climbs fast. Was it like this when you morphed, Olivia? I should have guessed I would be hyper. Am I all jittery?> Sean jumped down the branches to the lowest limb, which was at about eye level for his human self. He scratched his ear. Then he cleaned his paws. And then his face....

<Yes,> Olivia said.  <I ran around for a bit remember?  It might have been worse for my because Jo was in dog morph the entire time.>

Chad walked over and snatched Sean Squirrel from the branch, straining just a bit. "You sneaky little squirrel," he growled. He actually enjoyed having his dad...in the palm o' his hand. He snickered, and set him down on the table.

<Wait. What are doing? You're picking me up? Where are you putting me? Oh, here on the table. That's cool. Hey look! There's a bread crust here. I really want to have it. But I shouldn't. It's probably old. Yes. It's old. Where's Kristen?> Sean wasn't sure what to think about this squirrel brain. He had control over it... or so he was pretty sure... but it still was very strong. Or excitable, rather. He wondered how calm he could be, if he really fought it. It was definitely interesting experimenting with his first morph. He sat still on the table, only his tail twitching, and occasionally his whiskers. He couldn't stop that, no matter how hard he tried, but he was able to keep from running and jumping all about. He looked at Chad, <What are you going to morph? Are you - AAAHH!> Sean jumped and ran to the far side of the table when he saw Tarry. The large colorful bird had startled him, even though he hadn't done anything. They'd brought him along  because, well, they couldn't coop him up all the time. He needed to be out as much as he could. Eventually, Sean would tell people he had a new parrot, and he'd be able to take him around town and stuff, assuming Tarry behaved. But this night-time adventure would be safe enough. <Oh, this squirrel doesn't like big birds. Sorry about that.>

"Hey Tarry," Jo said.  "How was your day?"

Jazar had to go to the human library to find a book on amateur radio.  The Yeerks thought that the hobby was too primitive to keep information on.

After several hours in his personal pool, Ultor was once again saftely inside Edward's head. The yeerk sub-visser didn't attend sharing meetings a ton, it was more a duty he left to Alpha as he found acting fully human for so long rather tiring. His host missed it though.\
-----
Tarry puzzled over this momentairly, <Do parrots eat squirels? They do not seem to have a predators beak? It would be quite difficult. Anyway, you may find the rodent morph difficult if morphing prey animals on this world is anything like morphing a prey animal on my world.> Tarry gave a convincing parrot whistle and flapped his wings a little. The Andalite warrior heard a human near him say, "Cool, a parrot!"
In response to this Tarry gave a loud screech and said, "Good boy!" Tarry began his  Walk across the Table and climbed up chads arm and onto his shoulder, he thought he looked more like a pet this way. <Do I look like your pet now chad? I have seen a lot about pets on the primitive human picture network known as Television.> Tarry preened his feathers a little, < There seems to be a lack of yeerk activity here.> Tarrade turned his body to look at Jo, <my day was quite informative, I explored Sean's habitation and watched Television. What is the point of a straw?>

Meh.
