"Well, have fun with that...." Brian said. "I'm gonna go back to my cabin for a while...." Sleep sounded good.
Sean turned and left Chad and went to the deck level. He wanted to be in the sunshine for a while... It was strange how this morning he'd wanted to lock himself in somewhere. He found a place to sit, and dropped his head in his lap. Somehow, he'd come to the conclusion that they had to have an active part in preventing the human race from being entirely enslaved. How would any decent human being not try and stop this? How could you live with knowledge and do nothing about it?
But these were kids!!! Okay, two of them were legally adults, but that wasn't the point. They hadn't even gone to college yet, not to mention finishing high school. How could he expect them to make that decision? Could they handle that kind of weight? This wasn't like getting the SAT or anything.... Sean knew that most people underestimated young adults, and teenagers typically never met their potentials simply because no one ever expected them to. But was this something he could ask them to do? Or maybe the question was, was this something he could control? If there was one thing teenagers hated was when adults tried telling them how to live their lives.... Oi, what am I supposed to do...?
