Favorite Character

I know we've already got a topic on Favorite Animorph, but Favorite Animorph doesn't always equal favorite character. For instance, most days I'd list Tobias as my favorite Animorph (*cough* It depends on what book I've been reading. ) but Elfangor is my favorite character overall.

So. Who's your favorite character overall? Or if not that, who's your favorite non-Animorph character?

I always liked Elfangor. Though I hated the theme that followed in the chronicles about things happeneing to people that were out of control, but luckily they have their girlfriend to lean on, and in the end they are separated from everything that they used to know. I mean really? Do these ciircumstances really happen that often?

"That often" as in... "it happened to four people" out of the how many characters?

Having been rereading all the Marco books and Visser for working on fic, I really love Eva and Peter. Eva's smart, resilient and self-sacrificing; Peter's emotional, flakey and nerdy. I can totally picture how their relationship went and what troubles they might have run into, what things they had in common.

As for less-minor characters, Erek. I love that the resident pacifist manipulates a bunch of teenagers into murdering a race of children. He's self-righteous, crafty, manipulative, at times passive aggressive, and yet he's one of our good guys. I love that.

And of course, Edriss 562 is incredible.

Out of ten POV characters, it happened to four. Pretty much all the protagonistic chronicles characters. It feels like they repeated the same character over and over after elfangor in the Chronicles with Dak, Aldrea, and Toomin.

Ooh, but it's so hard to chose just one.

Ax is my favorite Animorph, but he's also one of my favorite characters.

I really like Esplin before the main series... when he was crafty, intelligent and ambitious... I have a thing for ruthless characters, when they're smart and actually succeed. Main story-line Esplin is just... pathetic.

Elfangor is another favorite, I love poetically doomed characters, so bitter sweet 

Aftran is probably my second favorite, next to Ax.

i liked pretty much everybody during the HB chronicles (esplin was awesome back in the day).
dak and aldrea were too perfect together. i never felt that we saw her true self in book #34.

i'm a sucker for the hork bajir.

Marco has always been my role model since book 5. I really look up to the way he copes with problems. Not everyone can do that.

I like Cassie! But I like all the main six.

Marco's my favorite of the Anis by far, and my favorite character in the series. I find him fascinating, and his pragmatism always resonated with me.

Just wanted to point that out. XD There's already a Favorite Animorphs thread. That's not what this is for.

I really liked Esplin in the first few books as the main villain. As funny as I found the grape juice thing in book 9, I admit that was his start of villain decay. He had a smart plan in book 11 that actually worked, but killing Jake screwed it up. That was probably his last smart move in the main series, bar some possible exceptions here and there.

Oh my.. so many to pick from. Aximili has been one of my favorites. Just his way of looking at humanity is fun. And his insane obsession with food heheh and just feeling and experiencing things he normally can't in his regular body kind of make me see all the things we normally don't even pay attention to.
