Introduction of Sorts
« on: March 18, 2010, 04:40:12 PM »
Hi there!  Not too sure if this is how this works but giving it a shot in the dark anyway.  I'm Michelle and I'm new to RAF, though definitely not new to Animorphs.  My older brother and I read them when they first came out and he had the entire collection and I constantly borrowed them through the years, usually about five or six at a time because that was how fast I could read them.  Then we went to college and his book collection wasn't located just down the hall anymore.  So now I'm in the process of using Ebay to build my own collection of anything Animorphs related.  So far I have about 30 of the books, the Invasion board game, the 2nd VHS of the TV series and a pin.  I'm working on getting everything, even the video games (at one point I had the Gameboy Color game but I sold it in a yard sale...still beating myself up over that one.)  I write Animorphs fanfictions and read the books at college, prompting all my friends to roll their eyes at me, and me to say "if you just read them, you'd understand."  Now I'm joining all my fellow Ani fans!  So hello!
Here's the deal these days.  They know exactly who we are.  They know exactly where we live.  We've got a few secrets left and we're gonna use them.  But just know that the end is coming.  And we don't know how much longer we can do this.  How much longer we can fight.
What about you?  Where will you be when it ends?  Think about it.  Think hard.  Because the countdown has already begun...

Hi! welcome to RAF! I don't know how long you've been watching us before you decided to join. We love new animorph fans! And yes, there are a lot of people with a lot of animorph's knowledge. I am not one of them.

I don't know if you've realized this yet, but the people on RAF tend to get crazy sometimes, so if they do, its just how they are. But they really are nice! I'm about the only sane one here. :)

^^ welcome!

i love meeting all of these not-11-year-old anifans. xD well, join us twenty-somethings! eventually, people will come around and throw more links and information at you than you know what to do with, so i'll at least spare you that on my end. C:

i am curious to know if you have a favorite series book, character, and hate/love the final ending. =O

and good luck with that collection of yours. i think i might still have the old book-insert, tshirt iron-on somewhere... but that's about it, merchandise-wise.

anyway, hope to see you around! =)

Hey Michelle,  I'm Tara, welcome to RAF!  You're not the only one who got weird looks for reading Animorphs in college...I was even in the science fiction club at my university, which had a small library/meeting room, and Animorphs got bashed by a couple people in there!  It's not the damn TV show! XD

I did consider donating my collection to the little library, but in the end I couldn't part with it...especially among such haters x3

So... you're kind of an Animorphs geek, huh? Yeah, I think you're in the right place here :P Your collection sounds like it's getting very impressive. Good luck with it :) There's a ton to this site, from Animorphs discussions that go deeper than you thought possible to... actually, we have just about everything. My suggestion is to just hang out and explore for a while. You're sure to find plenty to get involved in ^_^

Good to meet you!

Thank you for all the welcomes!!  And, to answer the question, my favorite book was probably Megamorphs, Back to Before.  I really liked it.  My favorite character was definitely Tobias and I liked the ending.  Didn't love it, didn't hate it but thought it was a good way to end the series, send them out fighting.  But I wouldn't object to KA writing more books either...haha.

nice. i think you'll find yourself with good company in the fans-of-tobias department (there seem to be a lot of those around this forum O___o).

Back to Before.... man, i have NOT read that one. (it's the only one i haven't read! ...uhm. except for the ellimist chronicles...? am i going to be stoned for saying that?) anyway, if you say it's good, i'll step up my game plan to get my hands on that one. D:

and i completely agree with you on the ending: not bad, not amazing, but definitely acceptable. ^^ i think there are threads for discussing all of those questions at length, but i figured i'd get you a head start. >:]

(AND. ANDAND. animorphs 2.0? 8D yes? i hope that works out... you might want to check out katmike's RAFanswers thread... think there's an answer in there about that. probably. maybe.)

*picks up a stone*  Aww, yeah you should read both of those.  I actually really enjoyed the ellimist chronicles...it's a very interesting story!

Dx don't keeeel meeee!

i haven't decided whether or not to buy the ellimist chronicles. (that is what it's called, right? O___o; ) but a lot of people here seem to like the book. so. i will look into it.

(would i be stoned twice if i mentioned that i'd completely ignored that book before i got to this forum? it was waay outside my interest radar.)

Doo it!

Although I didn't finish it until last year. XD I don't remember why I stopped reading the first time. I couldn't figure it out when I reread/finished it, either. O.o
