So the on tv show...

Does anyone think Marco and Cassie have a weird sexual chemistry going on?

I didn't watch many episodes, and can't tell anything.

Nope, never saw that, but on the subject of "Cassie" and "sex", I've always thought Nadia Nascimento was the more attractive of the two female leads (not that Brooke Nevin wasn't good looking either)

Out of all the ways Nickelodeon screwed up that show, that's one of the few I'll let fly.  ;D

I didn't get any Marco/Cassie vibe, but Marco & Rachel were definitely flirting in many episodes. :P

I actually saw more of a Jake and Rachel thing actually. Which is very weird, I know :P. But it was one of the reasons why I stopped watching the show in the end. Way too much JakexRachel, not nearly enough JakexCassie :(

Cassie was probably a case of Hollywood Homely. Someone who is supposed to not be pretty, but actually was. It was one of the most tolerable mistakes, though. There are much better ones to bash.

One of my friends who watched the show but didn't read the books didn't believe me when I told her Jake and Rachel were cousins. She was convinced that they were going to hook up.

Not marcoxCassie. I didn't notice much, didn;t watch much. But Cassie was to pretty, but as I others I let is pass. I prefer to pick on the facts that it was live action, the aliens were rubber, no Taxxons, the dracon beams were flashlights, the morphing sucked, and when Ax and the Visser 'fought' it was jsut them slamming into eachother, no bloody tail fighting. >:(

I think the portrayal Cassie's character was also much more BA than Rachel's anyway. Someone on the LJ community once said that Nevin played her as a blonde that happened to be badass as opposed to a badass that happened to be blonde...which is very true.

rachel took time to become trully badass though.  if the show had continued (and didnt suck) she would have become more and more violent.  still though, nevin was a bit too cutesy for me to see her as a believable rachel.  and the books never have any other characters describe cassie as ugly.  rahel comments on her style occasionally, but not on her looks.  jake seems to find her pretty enough, so the only thing we have to go on is her own description of herself, which tend to be flawed for people.

Kind of offtopic but I HATE(D) that show with a passion, I could never get through more than a few episodes, every episode nick put out is screwed up. Not to mention the way they did the andalites, seeing Visser three and Ax made me want to pull my hair out.
Meh.

My memory on the TV show is rather fuzzy, but I remember liking the way Cassie acted just fine. My mental image of her was pretty much exactly how the model looked on the book covers, though, so since the actor playing her didn't resemble the model exactly I couldn't call her the "perfect" Cassie... but her acting was well done. I remember NEVER liking how Marco was done, though. He looked wrong and never acted like the easy-going Marco in the books. (I know actors don't always match the appearance in the original works, so perhaps saying he looked wrong is a silly complaint...but aaaah I never liked how he looked at all :|)

As for Rachel's actor, I do agree that she never really seemed tough enough. Maybe if the show could have gone on longer she would have improved, but I'm not sure. It wasn't the acting that was off so much as how she presented herself, if that makes any sense? Like, body language and all that stuff. I'm sure the actor tried her best and she's probably a fine actor--uuuh I haven't seen her in anything besides Animorphs so I can't properly judge ha--but I doubt she could ever have that tough, confident air that Rachel always had. Rachel was a tough, bold person from day one before the group even became Animorphs, and even if the actor had the right "looks" to play Rachel, she just never presented herself as someone bold like Rachel.

(I think I actually vaguely remember the Jake/Rachel stuff on the show. Pfffffffft I completely forgot about it that's kind of hilarious.)
