Some sort of introduction, I guess
« on: February 18, 2010, 07:34:36 PM »
My brother was the first one of us to buy an Animorphs book. It was In the Time of Dinosaurs, and he got it because he, well, liked dinosaurs. For his birthday he got #1, and I don't remember how I was hooked, but I was, and I don't know how he wasn't hooked, but he wasn't. I can't quite remember how many books had been released by the time I found them, though I was in about 5th or 6th grade - late 90's. It didn't take long for me to catch up and have to wait anxiously month to month. I began to outgrow them, technically, but I continued to buy each new one, and was utterly heartbroken (as was, funnily enough, my father) when they ended.

My favorite character from the beginning has been Jake. I like something about leaders. My favorite X-Men (X-Man?) was Cyclops, so there was a bit of a theme. And Jake got to morph into a tiger. And he had book #16, which was my favorite number.

I can't pick a favorite book.

I can't even count how many Animorphs dreams I had as a child, and they occasionally resurface now.

Other than that, I'm an underemployed recent college graduate with a degree in psychology who wants to be a paramedic and just discovered SCUBA. If I could choose any animal to morph into, it would be a humpback whale. I work mall security at the nation's largest mall, am an EMT-B, and I have an insatiable appetite for books, which I credit largely to the Animorphs series. I still have every book, but when I packed them up I couldn't seem to find my #52. And my heart broke a little when I first realized many years ago that Applegate didn't write all the books herself.
I will follow you into the deep, as a young bird has to learn to fly

Welcome to RAF, Seroci.  The forum with it's own mythos.

I am known as Cloaky the Great!  Okay, no one really calls me that.  I just couldn't resist that joke.  It's just Cloaky.

Now, what's your RAFspecies?  We all have one!

wHELLcome, Seroci!
I'm Vis... I'm Dameg, another RAFian. Come with me, please, I have something to show you. It's here, after this door *Open a heavy door* We call them the RAFprojects. *Lead Seroci to a long and dark hallway, with many doors, some in the dark, some with light coming from the other side. Arrive near the first door* Here at your left...

- The Ebooks project: [Help wanted!] Animorphs (http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php?board=14.0), Remnants (http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,157.0.html <= finished), Everworld (http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,331.0.html <= almost finished, it's our current priority, we need help to correct the volume #3 and check all the volumes to be sure there is no missing page) and GONE (new project?); the Everworld/Animorphs ebooks need to be cleaned a little (mistakes, missing pages, we don't know where the chapters begin and finish, etc.) so if you wanna be a correcter... call me, I head that projects.

Facing it is...

- RAFipedia: http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php?board=22.0, an encyclopedia headed up by Estelore, our star (a true star, who make light and burn in space... but she has a body to come on Earth);

Next it's...

- the Audiobooks project: http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php?board=15.0, a full-cast audio version of Animorphs who need more "actors" and voices, headed by Kit Cloudkicker (Jess), MrGuy, Morfowt, and Wildweathel;

and here...

- the Graphic Novel project: http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,416.0.html and http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,2276.0.html, a Webcomic headed by Gafrash.

You also have...

- the Smiley project: http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,1691.0.html, we make Animated gifs, smileys about Animorphs (Andalites, Hork-Bajirs...);

here and facing it is...

- the Translation project: http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,1907.0.html, a recently started project/mutual support group for translations into other languages; currently only in French (Tocade, Anidragon and myself), Chinese (Morfowt), Indonesian (Nat), Swedish (Mira and Zana), and Esperanto (Wildweathel); we translate only the volumes never edited in our countries/languages, to make the ebooks;

Next door is for the special project:

- http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,3738.0.html: the adventures of the RAFians;

At the end it's for the little projects:

- the http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,3810.0.html;

- the http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,3911.0.html to make the planets we hear about in Animorphs;

- the paper-RPG project: a role-playing game (on table, with paper, pen and dices...) about the World of Animorphs; I head this project, and it'll be write in French at the beginning, but we need help to find, class and write everything we know about the species, the planets, the powers we see in Animorphs, fix them, see what we keep and what we can't keep (because of the KASU, not clear, exception for the main characters/books, etc.), complete the knowledges about species/planets we know and even create new species/planets...; this project will be on my own website, so if you wanna join, ask me the link ^^;

- the RPG project: http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,4069.0.html to make a video game about Animorphs, with RPGmaker;

- the Command-line game project: http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,3787.0.html for another kind of video game about Animorphs;

- the http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,3773.0.html where we count all the people killed by the Animorphs;

- the RAFkaraoke: http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,3150.0.html and http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,3635.msg245735.html#msg245735, where we make songs and sing them...

and some other projects who come and go. Please check the list: http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/board,13.0.html

*Standing in front of Seroci* I hope you enjoyed your visit. Oh, and I also invite you to add your species on this list: http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,2154.0.html 'coz everybody isn't Human here. And we like to know who is what... For example, as you'll probably see, I'm a Controller.

Now I have to go.... *Beginning to go down dark stairs. Seroci can hear a cry coming from the cave.*
Oh, sorry for that, Visser 7 is... well, you know... or maybe not... but you don't wanna know...
^^'
Have fun!
*Dameg disappears into the darkness, Seroci is now alone in the hallway*

Hi, welcome to RAF! I'm VisserZer0 (obviously) or V0. I DO NOT appreciate the names Visserf*ck or Newpersonvisser as some have enjoyed calling me (not on RAF, of course).
Anyway, I hope you enjoy your stay here!

Just some motherf[extreme censor] idiots over at FanFiction.Net. I thought their community was rather insulting. Anyway, it was no big deal. Kinda funny, actually. ;D

YouTube has lots of idiots, unfortunately.
