That would be interesting. Assuming the chee park is surrounded by pamelite metal or something, the Yeerks could hit the wall. Then the Animorphs would need to do something before they punched through.

I'm not saying that I disagree with everyone but there is another possibility. The East coast.
Rachel have acquired an "endemic species" (which means a species that only exist in one place on the planet) in this case. Two American states in the east coast. And it's not harder to sail to Singapore from the east coast. You just use the Panama Canal.

They have also acquired species available only on the west cost.

What does it mean to be free?

they live in a large town/mini city in south cali..

but once you think about it, it's was kinda stupid for the yeerks to only have one pool... have to wonder if there where more...

I can't remember where I got this from, but I think it was mentioned (by either K.A or in the books) that the one in their town wasn't the only Yeerk Pool, but it was the largest and the most developed one that they had so far.

Remember, the Yeerks weren't invading on Earth for very long when the Animorphs began. Maybe about 5-6 years? Edriss (Visser One) and Essam were on Earth for several years making a life for themselves (and building up The Sharing), however, the secret invasion didn't start to fully take off until Edriss presented the Humans to the Yeerks and was promoted to Visser One (with Marco's mom).

Yeah but in the David Trilogy one of the world leaders was a yeerk. So the yeerks were infiltrating other areas. I didn't think she would say Bill Clinton was one although if it had been during Bush it would have made sense  :P

The did get a lot of morphs from the zoo.

Before it was mentioned in the books that it was California i put two and two together you know the whole Mountains and big forests and a desert close to the ocean. I live in California i have seen all those places. I live in the central Valley  so I'm in the middle.  I always wished it was my town. I don't live close to the ocean but the Smith canal is the deepest in the world and it leads to the Ocean we have a marina and sometimes lost dolphins end up there. two hours to the west you reach the ocean two hours north you reach forest two hours east you reach mountains. the only thing is there are no Sky scrapers and i think they have some in the books EGS tower for example

Awesome map.  But shouldn't the Yeerk Pool extend under the mall, as well?  And probably the down-town area, too; since they mention entrances in car-washes and such.

For that matter, most of the time, malls are in (or at least close to) down-town areas, aren't they?  Why do you have "Downtown" so far away from everything else?

I still really like the map.  I'm just pointing out things.

Malls can be anywhere where with a large population agglomeration. This is just ONE mall. I am certain there are others where you think there should.
I always pictured the Yeerk pool to be underneath half of their town, yes, but not directly underneath the Mall, the Construction site and the Anis' homes and all. After #52, post-implosion of the ground, I don't remember anything said about the state the Mall is in. So I just assumed, it was never in the crater.
I am actually unsure how far away Downtown was from the Anis town.

Also, I'd say that Erek's house is probably a bit further from the Yeerk pool. Otherwise, the pool complex and the Chee park would probably have intersected at some point...

Actually, that'd be an interesting fic... The Yeerk pool expansion getting too close to the Chee Park... Hm... Maybe I'll include something about it in my Pemalite Chronicles...
This is a good point. The Chee would have wanted their Sanctuary to be as far away from the Yeerk Concentration as possible.
But you guys gotta keep in mind the scale. The non-existing one that is MEANT TO BE there, I mean! ;D
What looks like is close on this quick map, could be a 10 km thing.
For instance, I think I made the Yeerk Pool complex too small there...

where in the last book does it say it took place in cali?

and the thing with them being in cali is that it mentions there are wolves in the wild. this is false. california's wolves were exterminated way back in the 20s or so. also, golden eagles are found even out in england (different subspecies, but still) so meh, i dk

Okay, so i'm a nerd and have spent about 15 hours piecing together where they are...

There's conflicting bits we are looking for:

City Transit - Buses, Subway System.
Mountains - National Forest
Sea Cliffs
Beach w/ boardwalk

Gotta be somewhere in a 40mi radius of the edges of the Bay Area. I'd put my money on either SunnyVale/Palo Alto or the Vallejo/Novato/Sonoma Area.

Choose your enemies, your losses, and your regrets carefully; they will define you.

I don't know if this is too late or anything, but I just started reading #7 and Rachel explicitly states Ax's Dome crashed in the Pacific Ocean.

I don't know if this is valid at all, and I haven't thought it out much, but is it possible that they live in Hawaii?

No, because when they fly back from the arctic, they do it with raptor morphs.  Raptor morphs that wouldn't make the haul across the Pacific without rest.

What really gives away where the animorphs live is the Gardens.  The Gardens is a zoo/theme park.  Only park that fits that description is Six Flags Marine world in Vallejo.  That's not too far from the ocean, therefore I believe that the animorphs town is in a suburban city/town somewhere in bay area.  that would place them a 2 hour drive from the state capitol, sacramento.  i live in sacramento, so when they went to the capitol and book 51 i was omg, animorphs came to my town!

which book is that? That's not 25, right? Because in 25 I thought they got there in the Blade Ship and stole a Bug Fighter to get back.
