The Banana Phone song and John-Jacob would probably work, too. :P

Benefits, other than not having to sit in a cage for two hours every three days? I don't really see any. Your Yeerk probably wouldn't feel the need to torture you, though, given that you didn't have one of the sick, sadistic ones.
If you are not in my avatar, and would like to be, or if you changed your name and avatar and would like me to update it, PM me. I cannot add or change anyone at the moment as I lost the file I use for this, but if people still want in, I'll work on it.

I actually would be a voluntary controller as long as my relationship with my yeerk was symbiotic not parasitic I've always wanted another presence in my head like multiple personalities

Maaaan, I can't imagine ever opting to have one of them in my head.
They would have to trick and catch me.

Ahahahahah! How cool is that idea?! To drive the parasite insane with some crazy music.
Think I would do 'The Launch' by DJ Jean 24/7 if I was ever infested.
It used to drive my friends nuts. So why not the alien?!?

Thats a good idea, but you'd end up going insane yourself!!

If you had reason for access to Yeerk tech, like Taylor and all the reconstructive surgery she had, then I can see someone wanting to be voluntary, for sure.

Yea thats true. Almost forgot about her..

and Chapman, being a voluntary controller to save his daughter. I really don't know if I'd have the strength to do that for someone...

I wouldn't consider that voluntary, because he doesn't like having a yeerk in him. he just accepts it.

Ah yea, thats true.

I also always wondered why the Yeerks never took Melissa anyway? I mean, they could have one willing host, or two unwilling hosts. Isn't two better than one?

quality over quantity. what's the point of having two hosts, if you have more than twice the trouble of keeping them quiet?

I just realized the host of that yeerk in Megamorphs #3, I believe, actually did something like that.  Only something from King Leer.

Oh, and I never really considered Chapman voluntary.

Oh, and I never really considered Chapman voluntary.

Yeah, that Berryman guy was quoting the "Band of Brothers" scene from Henry V, and the rest of the play, he said he played the character Exeter but knew all the lines.

We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition:
And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day.

I always thought that was kinda sad ;___;  Where he's all like, oh god, I'll never be free...nope, the Animorphs will just make you never exist.  All better!   ::)  Poor crazy Yeerk, wanting to kill Henry the Fifth just to shut up his host, which I bet wouldn't even work, it wouldn't just erase his host's memories if all the time travelers' pasts are buffered...

That ending was really powerful. And once again, Cassie makes the big bold instinctive move, for she didn't really know HOW it was going to play out. Fortunately, it all played out for good.

Thanks for sharing that Myitt. I always wondered what piece of Henry V that guy was annoying the Visser with. I can't don't have the tune, but I can read how the Visser got inspired to 'shut him up'.

Here's Kenneth Branaugh doing a pretty damn good version of the speech from Henry V ^^  The movies always help give a sense of the emotion of the stuff in Shakespeare...becau se otherwise it's like..."'to be or not to be'?  Oh, he wanted to commit suicide, wow, it makes sense now, what a whiny prat..." x3

Depends, I defiantly wouldn't be voluntary at first, however if the yeerk was part of the peace movement I do believe I'd be more willing, not saying that I would like that ether. Someone Else having full access to my memories, and my thoughts is creepy.
That'sssss a very nice possssst you have there... It'd be a sssshame if something happened to it...
