if you could join the Animorphs
« on: June 30, 2009, 12:03:29 PM »
If you were able to join the animorphs, do you think you'd be a good member for the team?  I think I'd probably do my best to follow orders and give input.  Cassie and I would probably get along well and I'd just be the "sympathetic ear" type person.  Heck, I'm sure even Tobias would want to hang out with me.

As I am now, I'd be too extreme for their liking. Opting for more destructive missions in order to win faster, instead of just trying to foil Yeerk operations. As I was when I first started reading the series, I was probably more like them. Not really willing to destroy the pool and sink half the city.

Nowadays I'm like Marco. Back then, I was more like Cassie. Then I "grew up", as it were.

I'm same as you Chad. Screw being nice. If destroyin a yeerk pool would save thousands from being infested that much sooner, then hell yeah.
I would have no problem

I would be a very poor team member.

I would plot and scheme on ways to win at all times, I would grill Ax for information that could help my strategies, challenge Cassie whenever her reluctance to morph animals that may or may not be sentient showed itself, I would devote my entire being to fighting and winning the war, to not only saving earth but to making sure it was never invaded again, I would have vhemently, perhaps violently opposed trapping Aftran as a whale based on her knowledge of the Yeerks if nothing else, I would have used the morphing cube right away after the David incident, I would have made reckless ruthless bad decisions because I'd care about just one thing: the survival of the human race, I wouldn't care about the price I had to personally pay in exchange for it.

At the end, assuming I hadn't been sent to take Rachel's place, or taken out earlier by the Yeerks or indeed by the Animorphs themselves, I would never have handed the pool ship over, I'd have told the Andalites to get out of my solar system or else bring it on, because earth was officially a no fly zone largely because I wouldn't trust them by that point but mostly because it wasn't andalite blood spilt obtaining it, it was the blood of the Human, Hork-Bajir and Taxxons (and one Andalite I guess), the races that those Andalite meddlers had been killing over and over again just to get at the Yeerks in their heads.

So yeah, I'd be a really ignorant insanely crappy Animorph  :P

That sounds like the long version of my post. I wouldn't be doing things the animorphs way. That wasn't proactive enough.

I so couldn't be an animorph..I'd be too scared  :-\

I mean the sort of person who doesn’t feel too upset about the prospect of a weekend spent seeing no one, and reading good books on the couch. It wasn’t like I was a people hater or anything. I enjoyed activities and the company of friends. But they were a side dish. I always thought I would also be happy without them."

I wouldn't fit in very well.
I'm very win at all costs, damn the collateral damage. I would even resort to using WMD's if it mean winning the war.

I guess a few of us on the board would do all the dirty work.

Honestly I think that I would be scared to death, but still do it. I have a strong sense of duty. I think I would be an okay addition. I'm not sure about in battle, but as far as strategizing and whatnot is concerned. I am very practical and pragmatic about how I approach everything and I think that I would be good at not getting emotionally invested in plans - kind of a combination between Marco and Ax.

BUT at the same time I think I would struggle quite a bit with moral issues. Nothing as lame as 'should we morph dolphins', but on a larger scale. I would have trouble contending with the fact that I had to take lives.

I'd be too lazy

"we have to stop them"

"but man, come on, it's like 9:00 in the morning and I haven't even showered yet"

"WE HAVE TO STOP THEM"

"Can't we just do it tomorrow? I didn't get a lot of sleep last night, and--"

"WE HAVE TO STOP THEM!!"

lol I'd just whine and whine
I go off topic on purpose.

Well if i was part of teh team i guess i might be slightly helpful...I CAN DRIVE XD that part in MM1 woudl have been so much easier if a licensed driver was behind teh wheel. XD
I'm somewhere in between Cassie and Tobias in Morality. And i guess i can be a bit selfish  <_< not that they were not at some point they had their own personal agendas. I would go on a personal mission to get Zohrra. make sure he was not a controller and make him part of teh team.
I don't have very good insight i suppose and i have a limited knowledge of pop culture XD. Rachel will be all D: not anopther person that needs help finding clothes. XD poor Rachel

Eh, I guess I'd probably be somewhere between a Marco and a Rachel.  Probably more of a yes-man though, following orders or whatever if I joined the group later on.  Respect, yo homey, etc.

Probably not have much of a problem with the dirty work, either, like those two.
