I dunno about this one, guys.
It seems out of character for an intelligent Andalite to create a piece of tech that wouldn't have appropriate security.
Even if before the Law of
Seerow's Kindness, I am sure they wouldn't want to have random animals crawling on some blue surface and morphing some other random creature.
Considering it's a piece of military tech and that nothing that was said about Escafil seemed to point at him being faulty and ill-adjusted, I'd have to go with the fact that the box wasn't designed to transfer a 'piece of technology' by the act of a plain touch.
And I am of the belief that K.A. WOULD HAVE mentioned SOMETHING HAD David had the power to morph all along prior to meeting the Animorphs. I mean, like, she would have dropped a line about him 'feeling a tickle' or something when he first grabbed the box or something. Plus he had that cat and the cobra, which would have fitted perfectly fine to this plot.
As cool as it sounds as a 'twist' to the story of the 'Judas-Animorph', I'm gonna boldly state that I think it's a 'no'.
If someone with the morphing power needs to touch it, how did the Andalites use it when it was first built, and no one could morph yet?

An inventor invents and an invention is an invention, I guess.
maybe the box builds up a charge after a morph capable person has touched it, cause before the buffalo and ant touched it cassie had just touched it, and then once its been sitting for too long it loses it
i personally just think 39 was a kasu but whatever, we need something to fill our days lol
Hahaha! Everything
Duff said there sounds plausible to me. This smells like a K.A.S.U. to me, too.
The morph-capable person has morphing energy and the box could possibly tap into it to ignite and transfer. And yeah, I confess uni is making a maniac out of me, so I do need some sort of stimulation to preserve my mentality. Hehehehe.
