Sam became concerned with nudity on if she chose to demorph, although her friend Jas enouraged her to do so any way.
<Guys, uh, I just realized...I can't demorph. I just can't. I'll be all...nekkid,>
"Sam, you have to demorph...you're not enough of a...well you know where I'm going with this. Anyway you can't be stuck as a dog."
Eddie decided to acquire Jethsa without her permission, after making inquiries of the others on what they thought of this plan. He also expresses interest in flying the alien ship.
<I've been thinking about how we might be able to fly this thing... I'm pretty good with gadgets, after all... I know it's probably not designed to have a Human interface, but there is a creature in here that it probably IS designed to have an interface for...> I nodded at Jethsa, <If she were consious enough, I'd ask her directly, but... Do you think she'd mind me morphing her in order to try and fly this ship and get her to some proper medical attention?>
He offered Reece up as 'sentient' morpher, with his use of the human Miller.
<I'm thinking of morphing Jethsa, because this ship is probably designed with an Andalite pilot in mind, not a Human one.> I answered openly, <And no, I haven't morphed a person before, but Reece has, and he seems to think this would be ok...>
Vincent was being unusually quiet, not helping his case at all. Kasey has declared that he is untrustworthy, going so far as to demorph out of sight and immediately morph back to her leopard form before rejoining the others.
Someone noted with concern that Jethsa had still not awakened. No amount of prodding seemed to have much effect upon her.
Alice and Damien had for some reason not joined the others. Was Alice's absence not missed?
The afternoon was stretching into evening, the activities of finding Jethsa, finding the Escafil and dealing with aliens and alien technology was tiring, not including all of the morphing some had chosen to do.
The ship suddenly beeped, a proximity alert, it soon became apparent. On of the screens showed three humans - two women and one man- wearing face masks, gloves and wearing shirts with 'CDC' patches sewed upon them. The man was holding a tranquilizer dart gun used for animals.
They were speaking amongst themselves and appeared to be searching for something, but the ship display did not carry over the sound for several moments. When it did come in, they heard:
" - sure? We haven't seen any infected deer out here." It was the shorter woman who was speaking.
"No, but we haven't seen much animal life at all. It's like something scared them off."
The other woman replied, raising her binoculars and looking about the woods. The binoculars were lowered, suggesting she was looking for some sort of land based animal.
The three were progressing near the ship and nearer to the scorch marks burned into the ground by Jethsa's ship.
"Hey," A third woman walks out of the woods towards the other three. Had Damien been with the group, he'd identify the Collaborator that had chased and wounded him.
"- have any progress to report?"
"No, we haven't found any thing like you described."
"Well, it was in this general area," The woman replied. "- we should be careful that no civilians exit the woods until they can be checked, too. All we need is an outbreak."
"Come on, Janice." The man replied, put upon. "That would take hours to establish a parameter and-"
"A parameter is already established and I'll handle the screening myself."
This seemed to satisfy her three companions, who began to fan out. They walked in straight lines around the ship. The third woman glanced around carefully, before pulling out a cell phone and walking off from the others to make a call.
