That last chapter of yours was too long, and I didn't read it. But I commend you for finishing. You have a stronger will than I, and I fear that may hurt my chances. This was a fun contest, and the first time I've ever done a short story. I apologise to all my fans for not being able to finish it, but maybe one day I'll be able to get through my problem.

Yeah, I warned everyone that my last chapter was going to be long.  And once I start a story I finish it no matter what.  I can't leave a story unfinished, that's just not right!  I was a bit sad that you didn't finish yours, but that gives me a better chance to win!

Almost done with yours musicman. Now, I'm assuming this wasn't the reaction you expected, but I was laughing my head off during the entire thing. I don't know what it is about Tobias's entire situation as a hawk nothlit, but I laughed during book 3 with that female hawk, and I'm laughing at this one as well. Maybe I'm just sadistic or something.

Edit: Okay, by the time it was all over I'll admit I was getting a bit sympathetic/heartbroken myself.

Edit 2: Just read through Nohensen's, and I have to say that I prefer musicman's. No offense Nohensen, but your's really didn't catch my interest that much so I ended up just skimming near the end. Especially once the hawk->human morph occured. Overall I just felt that musicman's fanfic was just more indepth (and dramatic) and made me want to keep reading no matter how hard I was laughing (see above).

Yes, I know I'm an evil person. But I just can't help it.

But if it makes you feel better I wasn't laughing at the end with his kids growing up. I actually felt a bit sad. I was just laughing for the 7 or so chapters before that.

Both stories have good plots, but as far as the writing goes I think there's a little too much "telling" as opposed to "showing."  And musicman's intro was confusing because it didn't really relate to anything.  Other than that, I enjoyed both stories a lot.  It was very interesting to see the differences between them.

I voted for musicman's because I felt there was more detail and the style was just more to my taste.  Both of you did a great job with this theme; I hope you do something like this again.

I'm sorry, I happen to have a bias for nonending things.  I like to have closure at the end of my story.  I like it when I can have a nice final bit in the last chapter that makes it so I know if everyone got screwed over or turned out all right...I voted for musicman, but an open end just annoys me, so I'm biased.  Lousy ram the damn bladeship endings.

I think for me it's just the entire situation in of itself is funny. When I reading about Tobias being attracted the the female hawk in book three I laughed about it as well. I'm just not a drama person. I find humor in a lot of things.
