I thought it had something to do with the make-up of the brain. Like when they were altering the brains of the hammerhead sharks to go after the leerans. But then, they could enter horses.

I was always curious about what happened to the Yeerk when they morphed something small? Like when Tom morphed a snake in the end. Or the Yeerks in hawk morph? Visser Three never morphed anything smaller then a human, but other controllers did.

Visser Three morphed a Kafit bird, which I think is not that big.

I started a thread asking how Visser Three could morph a huge beast that would likely have a large brain. Or a beast with multiple heads. You could look that up.

I also thought about that...
Maybe the Yeerk's body just melt with the Human's body, and then it's the same (Z-space, etc.).

Tobias being stuck as a hawk wasn't a huge shocker(like somebody else said, it was foreshadowed throughout the whole 1st book) It also wasnt a suprise that Tobias got his powers back(I always knew he would, I just couldnt figure out how until I read book 7. Something just told me the Ellimist would just magically give him his powers back) Visser 1 being Eva did suprise me but I kinda guessed that she was still alive and would have something to do with the war. What did suprise me was.....

Tobias still having to stay a hawk even though he got his powers back
Elfangor being Tobias' dad
Almost all of Marco's books involving Visser one or his problems at home
Jake getting shot in the head in MM3
Tom's death and the fact that Jake wasn't the one that killed him
Eva actually lived(every book she was in, I'd always predict her death and it would never happen)

Rachel's death was probably the most surpising moment I've read in the whole seires. Although I was a little confused since I've never read 53. I knew at least one Animorph was gonna die but I thought it would be Tobias or Ax and then Jake or Rachel(or both) would go berserk and slaughter Visser 3 for killing Tobias and/or Ax
Richard is really Anna in disguise!

I said #38...that means #38, not the david trilogy...

Morfowt: A bug? I don't remember about that...
it might not have been a bug, but it was definitely something pretty small...

The most surprising moment for me was when Jake, Tobias and Marco went to save Ax  at the end only to find out that he had been assimilated by The One.... that was so shocking.

When Tobias got stuck as a hawk, back in book 1.

I actually saw that coming. The moment Elfangor gave them that warning, I knew somebody would get stuck. And since Tobias spent like 70% of the book morphed, I put two and two together XD

Most surprising moment for me: ...probably finding out Elfangor was Tobias' son. I didn't read Andalite Chronicles so I found out through "the bunny book". It just seemed REALLY random to me. I wish KA had spent more time with that instead of basically treating it like random unimportant trivia.

Same here. I honestly thought Ax was only beaten and kidnapped at worst. But nope, they full on assimilated him, and while I was still trying to deal with the shock of it, they go ahead and describe that godsdamned grin that Ax made with his new lips and razor teeth. It was too much for me at the time ;_;

Another one was Tobias being trapped in hawk morph. It's true that the foreshadowing was obvious, but I honestly believed it would only happen past the halfway point of the series, because it would be pretty ridiculous to have a casualty so early in the series considering how outnumbered they are. But when I read and saw that it happened as soon as the end of the first book, it caught me off-guard. Unlike my first example though this was a pretty pleasant surprise, because I got a lot of joy out of seeing how they dealt with his nothlitism. It made for some of the most touching scenes in the series, anything involving him and Rachel alone together.
The store was closed, but the salesman said he could wait if we hurry.
But we were delayed en route when a stingray in front of us killed a pedestrian.

The first 3 lines of book 16

Then I typed in my code word, which is a series of letters and numbers.
I moved the mouse and placed the arrow on "Sign On." I clicked themouse. And I waited while the modem dialed.
My name is Jake

I think the first two times I read that book I'd double take and say No. My name goes first. How did they get that wrong?

Oh to be young again
Something, something, oh crap I pissed everyone off again....

Yeah, with like most of the books, it's like "My name is..." then stuff happened. But with some Jake books, it's like (stuff happens)...My name is...

It seems odd after all those other 'My name is...'

Most surprising moments for me are :

- Tobias trapped in hawk morph (book 1, altough looking back at the story, it was predictable)
- Marco's mom alive (book 5) *
- Elfangor as father of Tobias (book 23) *
- Tobias's mom alive  (book 49)

Someone says Tobias presumably dead in #21 The Threath....well, for me It was not surprising, because in Italy the books have been published with 2 years of delay, and when #21 arrived, I've already seen on Scholastic website the cover of book 23 and 33 (narrated by Tobias) so I imagined that somehow he was alive.

* Especially these two, because is when you start thinking that Elfangor's landing in the construnction site is not random...6 billion humans, and he meet 5 kids,  including his unknown son and the son of Visser One's host body?
