Jagill jumped in surprise as rayker seemed to come from nowhere, and moved to attack. "No Jagill." Temrash said. Now that this new guy was holding desmond, he desided to simply leave instead of trying to explain. What better explanation than a demonstration?

<Goodbye Desmond.> He said as he disengaged from his brain. He rtained control of all motor functions until the last second, and when Jagill saw him crawling out he reached over to take Temrash.

"This why Desmond acted different." Jagill said, and put Temrash to his ear. The Yeerk took control.

"I'm not sure how you snuck up on us, but you can take Desmond away. Try not to kill him until Gaz's group gets to see it. I think they would appreciate that."

(Hey Cobra, that's cool if you reach for my gun, but let me decide if you grabbed it. Rayker's got military training, so he'd respond faster than that.)

Rayker maintained his hold on Desmond, but turned his gun to the interfering Hork-Bajir. He tried to flick the power level switch down several notches, but he didn't check before firing.

Carson knew what was about to happen, but wasn't close enough to react. Fortunately, Lennan was. With his concussion-gun set on the widest setting, he blasted a wall of force at Dara, hoping to shove him and anyone else well out of the way. Only one more death needed to occur today.

During the chaos, Temrash disengaged from his host, and Desmond began resisting. Carson and Antonio were already holding him by the time that he got control of his motor functions, and Charlie now had her gun to his head. "Shut up and take it, you $%*^%@" she said, with only the slightest hint of anger.

Temrash reacted with concern for dara. "You ok there, Dara? No need for violence, Humans. We're all on the same side. I know it's confusing for those unfamiliar with Yeerks, but Desmond was not in control of his body. Now he is, and you can have him."

The shot  blasted Dara in the chest. He swayed and fell face first on the ground. He passed out.

"Well that's just perfect." Temrash said as he went to the back room for some stuff to take care of Dara's wounds. It wasn't too bad. He doubted it would be fatal.

Rayker was confused about how the whole scene played out.
"Okay, now what in tarnation is goin' on here!!!" He's angry now; why, he isn't exactly sure. Being in the dark about all of this was extremely frustrating.
"It's okay, Sarge. We got him." Tony said. Desmond continues to struggle and yell.
"Temrash - the Yeerk there - was searching through Desmond's brain for anything useful while it could still be done." Carson said. Glaring at Desmond, he added, "I hear it doesn't work when they're dead." To which Desmond replied with a stream of profanity.
*SMACK* Rayker whacked him across the head with the butt of his gun, knocking him out. "You just need to shut up."
"...so much for not knocking him out..."
Rayker rolled his eyes. Whatever... "Sorry about that..." He said to the unconscious Hork-Bajir. Shouldn't have tried to get in my way....

Jackson heard the fire of the concussion-guns. "I'm sorry, I'll be right back" he said to Al. He ran outside, hopping over and around the injured fox-person-thing, and joined with the group. "What did I miss?"

Mike is about to go and retrieve Corliss when the commotion outside causes him to pause.

He steps to the hatchway and watches in disbelief as the situation some distance away unfolds.

"No, Terenia, you're stronger than this," he whispers desperately while Terenia demorphs to Efaen's Andalite form.

Too late.  It's over too quickly, and he looks away, disgusted and a little afraid that the person he and Corliss care for could be so...so cold.  She'd just murdered her own sister!

He doesn't realize he's crying until a couple of tears spill down his cheeks, and he hastily wipes them away with a shaking hand.

He glances hesitantly at Tora, red eyed and confused.

"No, perhaps you're right," he says tremulously.  "Oh, God, I don't know what we should do...we can't have...she just murdered her, Tora.  For what?  For what?"

---

Myitt pushes through the trees, grumbling to herself about why she's even bothering to try and help the human girl she had only just temporarily inhabited not long before.

The scene she walks in on, however, is precisely what she had hoped wouldn't happen.  Though somehow...somehow some part of her knew it would, knew as soon as she had left Tamora's head that she was sealing the girl's doom.

She covers Tara's mouth, wide-eyed, then turns away from the bloody mess, unable to face Ossanlin or Terenia, the latter of whom was already trying to hurl the fact of what she had just done out of her system.

<Tell me again, Myitt, how you cared so much about that girl, you sent her to her execution,> Tara says lowly.  Furiously.

The hole in Dara's chest slowly begins to close. It's still bleeding but it's slowing down. It will probaly be another hour before it's completely healed.

Temrash finished patching the hole, and gave him medication, then laid him on a cot in the back room. "If you will excuse me, gentlemen, I must make a few calls. You may do what you like with the Human, though I suggest taking him to the Pride to execute him."

He sat down in the chair and opened communications, calling Visser 25, and Kevlin. visser 25 picked up first.

"Ah, what a pleasant surprise. You need something, sir?"

"Yes, Zorlog. I would like to check up on our special Hork-Bajir, Kyro Tyren. If you recall, I told you to take good care of him."

"Yes sir. The Yeerk I put in charge of him was stationed in the main base and kept from the front lines. I'm under the impression that the Hork-Bajir is about as happy as a host can be at this time."

"Excellent. I would like him brought to me. You may reassign the Yeerk put in charge of him, and give him my thanks. I will give you the coordinates."

"Yes. Right away. Is there anything else?"

"Oh, yes. I am in need of a repair vessel. Have the pilot bringing Kyro come in a repair ship to fix my current vessel, with a good repair crew. And tell them if they see any Andalites, do not engage with them."

"There are Andalites in your vicinity? are you in danger?"

"Not currently, no. Just make sure they know not to cause trouble."

"Yes sir."

After that was over, he waited for Kevlin to answer.

Tora lets out a slow sigh. "Mike, she is highly unstable," she murmurs, slipping a hand into the pouch on the holster at her waist. Instead of putting away her Dracon, she pulls out the comm device that links directly to the Base. She fingers it, sorely tempted to immediately call Reven and ask him to repeal whatever permissions he had just given Terenia.

((Sry guys, would've posted sooner, but RAF was down.  >_>  At least it was for me.))

Despite Ossanlin's distance from Tamora, her blood still splatters across his hork-bajir head and chest.  He doesn't flinch.  He doesn't respond to Terenia's scathing words.  Somehow he knew that the whole plan...freeing Tamora...bringing her here...he had only done more damage than if he'd have simply forced Terenia away from Efaen.  Perhaps Mar could resurrect the human girl...but...no.  It had required them both to bring Myitt back and Ossanlin didn't know if he would be able to do that again...ever.  That had also been a special case.  This was a gory death....a mess.

Ossanlin felt numb.  Perhaps she could've been saved, if Terenia hadn't been so brutally thorough.  As it was, the glaze of death already coated Tamora's staring eyes.  He steps forward and closes her eyes with scaly fingers.  <She requires a human burial.>

Ossanlin makes eye contact with no-one, knowing he'd only see horrified faces or accusatory glares.  He slowly puts his arms under Tamora and scoops her up.  Instead of flinging her disrespectfully over his shoulder, he carries her out in front of him, shoulders and knees supported by his arms, lifeless head cradled against his chest.  He forces himself to look at her.  He had sworn he was nothing like his Andalite brethren...he wasn't...he was worse.  Instead of having the courage to kill her himself and be done with it, he had broken a human girl into doing it.  True he had had a desperate hope that Terenia would do anything but kill her sister, but he should've known better.  He shouldn't have even taken that risk, he had had no right to take that risk.  But still he had.

Ossanlin walks slowly towards the treeline.  He knew of a particularly pretty meadow beside the lake, it had a wonderful view.  He would carry Tamora there, and look at her, ingrain her into his memory the whole way...he had killed many before.  All of them controllers.  He didn't like killing, but never before had he been so directly responsible for a death...especially one that wasn't truly an Imperial, but merely a damaged human...a girl caught in the crossfire.  He didn't think her death would affect him...she was an enemy...she was dangerous...she was unstable...but was she really an enemy?  Was she simply desperate, crying out for help the only way the Yeerks taught her?  Her blood began to coat his arms and dripped down his unclad hork-bajir stomach.  He deserved to have her blood on his hands.

He continues to carry the lifeless body of Tamora towards the clearing he knows.  She wasn't the only death he was responisble for, there had been Justin and Hadrin too...they had been put in the line of fire because of his direct actions.  One expected men to die in war...but this wasn't war, and these weren't his men or his enemies.  They had been friends or innocents or both.  Ossanlin was glad for the numbness because that way his face didn't show pain.  War-Princes weren't supposed to show pain...even when responsible for unnecessary death.

Kevlin was in his office on Visser 15's poolship when he recieved a transmission from Temrash. He accepted the transmission. Temrash appeared on the screen. "Temrash how are you? And Jagill? What did you want to talk to me about?"

Terenia senses the crowd dissipating behind her, but she does not move to rise for a long time. When she finally does pull herself to her feet she has composed herself behind a flat, emotionless wall. Her face twitches briefly, but it is not Efaen she is fighting, before settling. Taking a deep, shuddering breath, Terenia turns to find Tamora's body gone, and with it Ossanlin and the other Hork-Bajir. She sees Myitt, standing just outside of the tree line, horrified expression on her face. Out of the corner of her eye she can just make out Mike and Tora, in the shadow of the Skimmer's hatch. She seems to be facing a moment of indecision, before she turns and approaches Mike.

"I need my holster," she says in a dry, raspy voice. She holds out a hand, waiting for the requested item. Her entire arm is shaking.

"Hello Kevlin. If you aren't too busy, there's a mission I'd like you to undertake. There's a certain Hork-Bajir I'd like to find, and you're the first person I thought of to help me. I'd like you to come to an area when you can, and will type up the coordinates. This Hork-Bajir is one of the parents of a seer I have met, but I've never actually met her."

"Hmmm, I'm not that busy. I'll leave as soon as you send me the coordinates. This had better not be a wild goose chase. To borrow the human phrase." Kevlin opened up a second transmission and got permission to go from visser 15. Now all he was waiting for was the coordinates. <I'm getting tired of all thes hunts you do.> Kevlin's host said to him. <Maybe you can stay in the ship and I'll infest the Hork-Bajir Temrash was talking about.> <Suits me fine.> was the reply.
